Install Flash Player I had never purchased a projector before. The only projectors I had ever used were at work, and their picture quality was something that made me nervous. I purchased this with a 100 inch screen and a surround sound system and oh my God was it worth it. The picture is Crystal clear, the contrast (which was what I was mainly concerned about) is deep and the colors are rich and vibrant. Once you sit down, have a drink and some popcorn, you forget you are at home, you think youre watching a movie at the theater. I highly recommend this product. The one thing I will add however, is the sound quality from the projector is super tinny and lacks any depth, external speakers or a surround sound system is a must.

Its projection is great quality. Crisp, colorful and bright images with fairly deep blacks. It also offers a range of customization settings. The speaker is not viable. It works - but if you stick with this speaker it will play counter to how good the image is. The main thing I dislike is that: I have my projector hooked up to a PC, but when I turn the projector off, it still sends a signal to the PC - making the PC think it is still active. I have tried all the HDMI link settings and I cannot make it stop. I have used projectors with my PC in the past and never had this issue. As it stands, Ill open a window on my PC and it will open on the projectors display, even though the pj is off - so I have to turn on the projector, move the window over, then turn the projector off.. it is extremely annoying... I am still trying to find a solution.

I was finally able to connect the projector after a long time. The projector has all it takes to be user friendly. The price is less than six hundred bucks which for a novice like me is good to justify a very infrequent use. The picture quality is good, sharp, I installed about 18 feet from the screen to obtain optimum screen size of 120inches. Any closer was not allowing me to use aspect ratio of 16:9. The remote is extremely bright as reported by some users, but fortunately turns off after few seconds. The image can be shifted by the remote which is an excellent feature as I dont want to move the projector that i have installed in the ceiling. The cables are concealed, both the power and the HDMI (35footer). I purchased a 5.2 channel d e n non receiver (avrs530BT) that allows five HDMI inputs among which I have my fire stick connected to allow streaming. The sound quality has become excellent due to the receiver and the speakers that are preinstalled in my basement. The sound quality of the projector is ok but I am unable to have stereo, surround etc. so the receiver helps. So far I have used the projector for about 4-5 hours and I hope I dont have to deal with the lamp issue or dead projector.

I dont know anything about projectors. We just wanted something that worked good enough for us to use in our basement family room to watch movies with the kids. I hadnt even heard of this brand before. I read a lot of reviews though and decided I just needed to buy something and stop thinking about it! This was really easy to set up. We got a universal ceiling mount and it worked well. Our room isnt very big. We mounted this about 11 1/2 feet from the wall. The picture fits perfect on a 100" screen. It was easy to flip upside down and skew so it wasnt angled weird. We use a Firestick in one of the HDMI ports and just used an old cell phone charger that goes into the USB port to power on the projector to power the Firestick. Theres a setting that you have to change to turn the USB power on. It isnt hard to do. Just look in the menu. Speakers were the part that intimidated me. Again, I know nothing about setting up this kind of equipment. I realized it has the same jack as my old computer so I was able to use my 10 year old computer speakers with this. They have a subwoofer so they actually sound like a surround system without all the set up. Long story short, if you have low standards and just want something that works to watch family movies and sports. This will be good enough. Absolutely no complaints from us! Everyone who has come over to watch movies with us is planning to get projectors for their family room now!

I am a first-time projector owner in a new home with a large wall, so decided to save some money and buy this rather than a new 60" television. As a new user, I must say I am blown away by the device. Out of the box with no adjustments, were projecting what must be a 120" image on a white wall and it looks incredible. The built-in speaker is fine, but I use an Apple TV with audio out to a Sonos system and its amazing. One wall of the room were projecting in is floor-to-ceiling windows, and we can still project easily during the day with the shades drawn. Also use for XBoxOne gaming and of course the large screen is a lot of fun for that. No complaints after first week of use.

Took some work with the settings but now I am very happy. - Turn off auto contrast. It causes annoying changes in contrast while viewing. Also causes fan speed to vary annoyingly in ECO mode. - ECO mode is very quiet if you observe the suggestion above. - light weight and easy to mount - Very bright, clear picture Con: Has an illuminated strip 4 inches wide all around the projected image. Not as bright as the image portion but still annoying.

I had been waiting for a great HD projector thats nice and bright with good lamp life to drop below $1000. I almost pulled the trigger on an Epson for around $850 last year but the specs on this are much, much better. Glad I waited! Being in my basement theater with no windows I actually use eco mode since its too bright otherwise! Nice, rich color on this projector and handy test grids to use when youre setting up the zoom and focus. If youre replacing an older projector, beware of the throw distance. The short throw means it has to be a good two and a half feet closer than what I had mounted to the ceiling before which was an older Sanyo PLC-XU something or other - 1024 x 768 / 1700 lumens brightness. This Optoma looks way, way better!

Was very excited to buy this projector. The specs were exactly what I was looking for and the reviews, hopefully legitimate, were glowing. Unfortunately I cannot concur. I have had two other projectors over the years because I update every ten years or so but this was the worst. I use projectors in lieu of a TV primarily for movies and sports via HDMI with FIOS. The issues: The ceiling mount has to be placed perfectly as the zoom is so minimal that it is practically nonexistent. The projector re-synchs routinely where I would change a channel and the screen would go black with the spinning circle for several seconds until a picture returned. The tints would change, and sometimes flicker in and out, while I was watching. The remote would have to be pointed at an exact sweet spot on the projector which was difficult as the projector was ceiling mounted behind me. Also, the projector would not turn off by the remote even when holding it several inches away. I did want this projector to work as others have attested and a paper in the box requested that the projector not be returned until one calls customer support. Good luck with that. They are only available during normal business hours Monday through Fridays. Do they not realize or care that home theater users usually work during those hours and use their product only at night and on weekends? I guess not. I couldnt live with these flaws and I returned it.

This projector is great by my standards. Yes, there are $1000 - $3000 projectors that will give you ultimate quality in any lighting but this is exactly what I needed for my theatre room. The video is crisp and clean when were watching shows. I play video games from time to time, specifically Rocket League so I was concerned about latency and there being a slight delay in the video feed. This was not the case at all. It is a great projector all around and I would recommend it to anyone that intends to use in a low light setting like a theatre. I purchased the following items along with it and they all work great as well.
