Great projector. But arrived with the warranty void of seal broken sticker already broken. Not sure if it happened during packaging or if I got a returned item, but I’m not happy with the fact I just bought it and the warranty is already void.

Amazing picture! I didnt expect this to lol as good as my 1080p TV considering the screen would be 40 inches larger (100in) however my family and I were blown away with the picture. the black. levels are great! the contrast is amazing too. no input lag... waiting for my screen to be delivered Im just projecting on a white wall for now

Remote does no responds no matter where I point, projector is setting on a table, cannot even setup. I was able to select language and get menu up one time but unable to get remote to move to item to select anything. Dont know about picture quality or anything else. Item is blowing out so much hot air I would never be able to use. Remote lights up is very nice but thats all it does.

I bought this projector to relive and share the experience of seeing the movie Alita: Battle Angel in 3D with family and friends. Seeing Alita in an IMAX 3D theater was the best movie experience Ive ever had, so I wanted to find an affordable way to bring the most spectacular and rewatchable movie Ive ever seen home. Unfortunately, the Alita Blu-Ray wont be released until July 23, so I will have to update this review after that. I tried Pacific Rim with the Optoma HD143X projector, a 100" screen, and 3D DLP glasses, and my family loved it! For my family, it was the first time they saw Pacific Rim, and I dont think that they would have loved it nearly as much if it wasnt for the brilliant 3D video delivered by this projector. I used a Playstation 3 with an HDMI cable to play the 3D Blu-Ray for Pacific Rim, and I learned the hard way that in order for the PS3 to recognize the projector as a 3D device, the projector has to be turned on first and switched to 3D DLP mode before the PS3 is turned on. Ive also connected a laptop to the projector with the HDMI cable, and brightly lit videos look great even in daylight. On the other hand, dark videos and movies look much better in a dark room than in daylight. I was originally concerned about active shutter 3D DLP glasses making the image darker, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the glasses didnt noticeably change the image quality. I was also able to find reasonably priced 3D DLP glasses. I originally wanted to a 3D TV, but affordable sets are hard to find since the major manufacturers discontinued them a few years ago. This projector convinced me that it is much nicer and more impressive to use 3D DLP projection on a 100" screen anyway.

I honestly could not be happier! I did countless hours of research on this product and it truly paid off and blew away my expectations! I bought an ABOX projector about a year ago for $130 and after a year it burned out. This Optima HD 143X is mind blowing. The picture is honestly better, brighter, and clearer than my 1080p flat screen TV. The 3D is also phenomenal if you are into that. The best thing about this model is that the bulbs, rated for 10,000 hours!, are only about $60 to replace, which is incredible compared to the average being a few hundred! Do not hesitate and buy this now, you will not regret it. The picture is even so bright you can have it going with the lights on which is unheard of for a projector in this price range. There is a reason why it is #1 on every projector site for budget projectors. Depending on your space I believe it goes up to 330 in! I have it at about 100in now due to limited space. I also did buy the square trade 4 year plan because with something this price the extra $30 seemed worth it. Have had for a few weeks but will never go back to a regular TV. This truly turns every movie, show, and video game into a theatrical experience. I also highly recommend the HomeGear 110in electric screen, also on Amazon. So cool with the press of a button it raises and lowers and the quality is great. Hope this helps someone!

Great colors and brightness! However the lamp failed on the 90th day of the 90 warranty with barely 80 hours on the unit. Optoma agreed to repair the unit but make the customer pay the shipping which was 67$. The customer shouldn’t have to pay 1/3 of the price of a bulb for their faulty product. Also it has been 4 weeks with minimal communication about how long it is going to take. Other than that issue the projector quality has been great.

Been using optima for 10 years for my outside projector. No way you can argue with that. Smokes the Epson in the same price range 7000 more co trast ratio. Kids love it. Not waiting til pitch dark anymore for the fire pit movie. Deff a safe bet. Plus who needs the other features the 800$ ones come with. Unless you go 4000 lumens. The money isnt with it. $20 computer speakers. Worked perfect as the pair.

I bought this for my basement home theater. This is my first projector, and it was pretty straight forward to install and set up. I have it mounted in the ceiling, and projecting on a retractable 100" screen. The colors are amazing; the picture looks fantastic. The projector is also easy to use; didnt have any issues with the zoom, focus, or the keystone adjustments. The one problem, and its something Ive seen commented on by quite a few people, is the over splash. Theres a good 3"-4" around the entire screen; its just dim white light bleeding outside of the projected image. I sure hope Optoma figures out how to fix this, then Ill adjust my star rating to much higher.

Not a bad projector for price, but has a few flaws. Picture quality is good and colors look good as well. Very low input lag, so great for gaming. Cant review 3d as I never tried it Now the not-so-good: For some reason, I consistently lost communication between this projector and my receiver. Tried a plethora of things to fix, swapped HDMI ports, cables, adjusted settings. Nothing worked. After a few restarts it sometimes pulled it together, but a huge hassle just to keep consistent video. I would be more inclined to blame the receiver, but Ive had other projectors with this same setup with no issue. Could have been because I bought it refurbished but cant say for sure. Also, the projector is INSANELY loud. Im talking near vacuum cleaner levels. Any time there was a quiet scene you could see gazes shift to the projector as if everybody was genuinely shocked at the noise coming out of it. There is also a bright blue light that comes out of the inside of the unit. Just as a personal preference, I thought it was pretty distracting in an otherwise dark room. Lastly, as others have said, the oversplash is definitely a downside. Manufacturer claims that a dark border screen would eliminate it, which I have, but it would need to be about 6 inches wide to cover the light border. For these few flaws I sent the unit back. Will probably try the Optoma HD29 Darbee next (even though its white on a black ceiling) due to quiet its quiet fan and lack of oversplash.
