WARNING- This is an in depth review for those who are seriously shopping around for a GOOD projector. IF you prefer a short summary, see section titled THE BOTTOM LINE --------------------------------- We have an appreciation for electronic gadgets and aids in my family. When I had the opportunity to get a new projector, the reaction was nothing short of ecstatic, and for good reason. Our kids are heavily involved with using projectors at a local church that shows movies every month. It is quite a nice event and our son in particular is very particular when it comes to running projectors or other devices. He will go on for quite some time about how it works, features, and what he thinks of it, even when the listeners have long checked their ears out of commission. This projector has created a rise out of our kids that I have never heard to this degree. This projector, in short is AWESOME! WHAT IS THIS PROJECTOR LIKE? IN THE BOX Projector Remote control 2 AA batteries Power cord (3 prong plug, cord about 5 ft long) USB cable with USB male end and USB A end CRT cable (for PC monitor, about 5 ft long give or take a few inches) Wireless LAN module (to make the projector wireless capable) Quick Set Up Guide CD for links to projector manual and software (you can register from this CD too) Case (has shoulder strap with pocket with secure strap for projector and separate pocket for accessories and cords) PLUGS IN BACK OF PROJECTOR This projector comes with the following plug ins at the back of the projector: USB A port (for the WiFi module) USB port (for computer) CRT port (for monitor) RCA plug-ins (for yellow, white, and red plugs) 2 HDMI ports (the 2nd HDMI port doubles for an MHL port to use with tablets, phones, etc) TOP SIDE OF PROJECTOR FEATURES Sliding door cover for lens that you can open or shut for protection Manual sharpness adjuster Manual Zoom control Horizontal keystone slider (to adjust horizontal angle of the picture) Power on button 3 LED lights (on, lamp, temperature) Home button (displays the home screen) Source button (change source of your input for projector) Menu button ESC/Cancel button Enter button Vertical Keystone buttons- one for up and a different button for down. (Double for up and down arrow to navigate menu) 2 volume buttons (one goes up and one goes down, doubles and left and right navigation buttons for menu) THE SET UP THIS WAS USED WITH Playstation 3 through HDMI, full 1080p, projecting on a 5 x 9 screen in a church sanctuary with very high vaulted ceilings. Watched Bluray movie (Machine Gun Preacher was the last movie they watched) , tested with couple of games. Sound was accessed through a stereo and not this unit using fiber optical cable. Also tried with desktop using Windows 7 HOW DID IT RUN Ran very smooth. Picture was absolutely gorgeous, way better than the theater. Initially the picture looks decent. After tweaking in comparison with a Samsung Touch of Color LCD deep color, we were able to make it look even much better than the TV which has a fantastic picture with very dark blacks and fantastic color. The effect on the picture was amazing. The picture not only was brighter, but it looked way more 3D if that makes sense. The depth of color, definition and contrast gave a depth to the projection that surpassed the TV on the exact same picture/video. The following adjustments were used to achieve this: DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO ADJUST PICTURE QUALITY COLOR MODE There are five different presets. PRESENTATION, DYNAMIC, CINEMA, sRGB, BLACK BOARD (automatically adjusts for chalkboards that are green) BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST Big range for contrast which gives a lot of options for adjustment COLOR SATURATION This you can really control how much saturation of color you want to a very fine detail- something that is extremely important to our son who is very color sensitive. TINT This one was a struggle- there did not seem to be much different from one end of the spectrum to the other. Very little difference. Not sure what it was supposed to control at this point, but will update if we figure it out. SHARPNESS COLOR TEMP RESOLUTION The native resolution of this is 1920 by 1200. COLOR BRIGHTNESS AND WHITE BRIGHTNESS 3400 lumens (Very bright even in a bright room. Excellent visibility) WHAT PROCESS DOES THIS WORK ON? 3LCD 3 chip technology. This gives a brighter picture and very detailed deeply color picture. Excellent black depth as well. COMMENTS Previous to this projector, we had been using the EX5200 series from Epson. It had 2800 lumens with the 3LCD technology. Compared to this projector, it was nothing near the high quality of this one. This one is hands down PHENOMENAL and so impressive that it has been the talk of the movie time ever since first viewing it. Both projectors could handle 1080p, but not only is this one brighter, the color depth and fine details of the picture are more clear and crisp. With this projector the fine tune ability is far better than the other which was very limited in what you could do to change the quality or picture. AUTO PICTURE SELF ADJUSTMENT This also has an auto picture self adjustment which means that even if the unit is a little crooked, it will adjust the picture to make it level and look straight- one of the more impressive features of this unit. THE BOTTOM LINE For a great picture that beats out any of the theaters that we have been to, this projector is fantastic. With a lot of options for sourcing, and for using with different devices, the capability for adjustments and alterations makes this one of the most impressive projectors we have seen at this point. The color saturation and depth is unbelievable. The extra features and ability to do a lot of adjustments make this one of the best in its class at this point. MY RATING Five stars would be ten if possible. We have not had the opportunity to try it out with a lot of different devices but will update with any further experiences with other devices in the future.

I loved this projector and its features so much that, though I received one for free, I purchased a second. HOWEVER, the first one (which had many hours of usage) simply died. It does nothing. We first thought it was the bulb and that the machine simply shuts down when needing a new bulb, but after calling the hotline, we were told it was a "hardware issue." Had we purchased it, it would be under warranty since it had only been a couple of months, but where it was a gift we knew of no solution. Either way, I now fear what will happen to the second one when it reaches that many hours. It really is a great projector, but not if it wont turn on. ORIGINAL REVIEW (5 STARS) I have used many projectors over the years, mostly for business. I’m using this at home, primarily for movies and gaming. I wish I had bought this for my business use last time around (and I will next time). It is very bright, easily seen with the lights on (though always better with them off), and, perhaps best, is simple to use. We use apple and pc laptops, a PS4. All work great, and are simple to operate (plug and play). I haven’t fooled with wireless, because I haven’t needed it. I like that it is reversible - we haven’t hosted an outdoor movie night yet, but that will let you put all the electonics behind the screen, out of harm’s way, and put the speakers right by the screen. It is capable of wide projection in a short distance (8 ft wide from about 10 feet). In my experience, this is universally a good thing (just not if you are looking to install one at the back of a large room). There is a sliding bulb shutter, which is great. This leaves it up and running but shuts the bulb temporarily (standby). There are certain things which are best left to tactile/analog switches, and this is one... it gives you confidence that it’s ready when you are, and you needn’t worry that some kind of AI is going to mess you up. Overall, it is an excellent projector, in my opinion. Very happy with it.

This projector will be used for watching movies in the back yard or while camping so good sound and a clear picture while enlarged is critical. Setup: We are using a Chromebook to operate this projector and in my experience they be hinky in situations like this, even when things are listed as being compatible. Because of this I searched for an Epson extension to set this up, loaded it on my Chromebook, and hit my first snag when it needed an IP address for the projector. I wasnt able to detect the IP address as instructed and called support. Support answered right away and had me turn the projector on and connect to the Chromebook using the HDMI cable, reboot, and then go to the Display option in Settings where the Epson projector had been detected in the Mirroring section. I turned Mirroring on and we were set. It was that easy, no extension or IP address needed, and within a couple minutes I had it focused and showing a video with amazing picture quality. Audio: I panicked for a moment when an online search after setup revealed that this projector isnt capable of directly connecting to external speakers. The sound coming from the projector is just fine for presentations or a small setting, but not for showing a movie outside. I tested using the audio connection on the back of the projector directly in to an external speaker and it didnt work. I tried using that same external speaker over the bluetooth connection thats already set up with my Chromebook and it didnt work. I then connected the speaker to the Chromebook using an audio cable, turned off bluetooth, and checked the headphones option in the audio settings box, and it worked. Now I have great sound using my external speaker and tested the setup by streaming an online movie and were ready to go for a fantastic outdoor movie experience. Wireless: I hadnt planned to try wireless since I have to have my Chromebook out to stream my movie anyway, so eliminating the one HDMI cable isnt important. But I can see how having the projector in an elevated position or farther away from where you are sitting could be convenient so I decided to try to set that up. But then I realized that I have to unscrew the back of the projector and install the wireless attachment that was included in the box. I wanted to write this review and didnt have time to try that so Im going to update this review as soon as I have an opportunity to give it a try. In the meantime my family will enjoy outdoor movie watching with this fantastic projector.

This is a computer projector loaded with features for business, conference center, or school use. The projector measures 12”x 10”x3.5” and weighs just over 6 lbs. It has mounting brackets on the bottom for a standard ceiling mount with inverted display mode. The projector also has a built-in slot on the frame for a security cable. It runs on either 110V or 240V input, so it will work overseas with a simple plug adapter (no additional transformer necessary). The bulb produces up to 3600 lumens and is rated for 5000 hours on regular mode (longer on Eco mode). Resolution is 1920 x 1200; the projector works in both 16:9 and 4:3 formats. For inputs, the projector accepts VGA, HDMI (2 HDMI ports, one with MHL), USB A (for flash drives and cameras), USB B (for computers), and RCA (for DVD, phones). You can also connect your input devices (computers, phones) wirelessly if both your projector and device are signed into the same wireless network. The projector has a built-in speaker for sound but no sound output ports. Controls are on the top of the projector, with buttons for power, horizontal keystoning, menu, volume, and manual controls (sliders) for focus, zoom, keystoning, and AV mute (temporarily turn off display/sound). The remote allows full control of the projector, and also will advance/reverse through presentation slides or start/pause videos with the projector is connected to a computer via HDMI or USB. Included in the box besides the projector and the remote are batteries for the remote, a carrying case, the power cord, a VGA cable, a USB cable, and a software disk; an HDMI cable is not included. I found this projector simple to setup and run on my Win10 computer. I connected the projector to my computer using an HDMI cable (not included), and the image came up on the projector instantly. The image is quite clear and bright, and the sound is adequate for a medium to small room. When I read the word “wireless” in the description, I thought I would be able to stream movies straight from the projector without a computer connection. But that’s not what they mean; here, the “wireless” feature enables you to connect the projector to a computer or other device without the use of cables. In order to do that, you need to first sign the projector onto your network, then get the projector to communicate with your device (phone or computer) using the iProjector app (for iPhones or Android) or a wireless connection key that you create on a flash drive (not included) with the projector and run on a computer (Windows). A wireless connection to a device could be very useful for situations where you want to project from a computer or device that is far from the projector. But for me, it was easier to simply find an HDMI cable and plug it into my computer. This projector is not ideal for home entertainment—while it includes a built-in speaker, the speaker is very basic. It’s not going to give you a surround-sound movie experience. And there is no sound output port from the projector, so if you want to use external speakers, you have to figure out how to separate your sound signal from video. With a VGA cable, you may be able to send the sound directly from your computer to external speakers, but with an HDMI connection, you will probably need a cable adaptor to split the audio signal. This is not a difficult challenge to overcome, but it does require some technological know-how. On the other hand, the projector has some very useful features for businesses and schools where many users share one projector. The wireless connection with a flash key setup means that the IT tech can build a flash key and have users connect to the projector via the key rather than with cables. The projector has password protection that can protect settings or block button input. It can also send email alerts and be monitored or controlled over the network. It can show simultaneous side-by-side displays of 2 different connected devices. You can upload a custom logo to be displayed when the projector is not displaying the source screen. The remote includes a built-in pointer. It also has a button for e-zoom, which allows you to zoom in on parts of an image. The same remote can be used to operate several projectors. In sum, this projector has many features that would be useful for businesses or schools, from the security cable bracket to the network controls. The projector produces an excellent quality image that is visible even in rooms with ambient light. The lack of external sound output limits its capabilities for home theater use, but overall, it is a very versatile machine.

The only downside to this projector is that I think the power cord is a bit short, but I think most people will expect to use an extension cord. For ceiling mounts, you might opt to buy a longer power cord depending on your set up.Also, a warning: It is so bright be careful when you first get it NOT to look into the light or do a preliminary setup without warning anyone else in the room about that - the light is blindingly bright. I have 2 other projectors, and neither of them are anywhere near this bright. Im the fool that was looking right into it when it came on the first time, and I promise I wont do that again. It does have a shutter to shut and protect the lens. The picture quality is amazing. I am running mine using HDMI for movies and sound. It is as clear and easy to see as my recent model Vizio tv at noon with the curtains open. When it is connected to my computer, all I have to do is turn it on and it is connected as if it is an extended display. I typically start what I want on my main screen then move it to the screen, as if it were just another monitor. It works GREAT. Theres no fiddling with it at all that way. It has a great zoom function. The projector has a slide that allows you to slant the projection, in case you cant project straight on. It has a foot that allows you to raise it up. It is very easy to use. It can be mounted. You can flip the picture. It has a lot of controls for the picture. For watching movies, cinema quality is just that - its as good a picture as a movie theater in my opinion, even with the eco function on. I have been using it with auto-iris ON, which gives a really dark black. The fan is not distracting to me, it is quieter than my other projectors and I just dont notice it. It does have a remote. Mounting brackets dont come with it, those have to be bought separately. For travel, it is quite light (Lighter than my purse!), and comes in its own bag. It has a set of VGA cables, a short HDMI cable, power cord, the remote, a wireless dongle, and instructions. I was surprised at how light it is. In the bag, it is about half the size of a messenger bag but a little bit thicker. The wireless is something that Im choosing to leave off. I would only use that if I wanted to connect to it via wifi with a tablet. Configuration was easy, but I noticed it even had some protocol support I wasnt expecting, like SMTP for email. So far Ive had no issues with it, but if I do, Ill update the review. Its just been super easy to me, and it has delivered everything promised.

I really love this projector you be able to use it At dusk it was kind of a pain to set it up with just my iPad and my phone even though I have all of the extra connectors that I would need ultimately I ended up using it through my laptop which is fine, that’s how I use all of my other projectors in the past. The picture quality was fantastic I had no issues streaming with my Wi-Fi in watching videos. We do this often outside throughout the year although right now it’s a little too cold so we had to test it inside we did with the lights on and the lights off of course it’s better when it’s darker But it wasn’t horrible with the lights on either. This unit is a decent size much bigger than some of the others I have tried in the past but the quality for sure it was much better. If you’re using this for documents and for work, you will not be disappointed. Having to get Special connectors to use this on iPads and iPhones is kind of a Pain you would think with today’s technology this would be common sense. The replacement bulb is not too pricey that should last about 10,000 hours which is great. I would buy them in advance to have them in stock in the event that they’re not available when you need them.

In the box you get the projector, remote control, two AA batteries for the remote, power cord, VGA cable, USB cable, carrying case, USB Wi-Fi module, USB Wi-Fi module retention bracket with screw, documentation CD, and printed quick setup guide. I found the projector easy to unpack and get setup. The projector itself is very small and light weight weighing in around 6 pounds. On the bottom the adjustable feet help you get it lined up when on a table and there are also three ceiling mount holes. The top control panel has some of the most used controls along with status lights and there are manual horizontal keystone, zoom ring, focus ring, and lens cover sliders. There is a filtered air intake on the left side and the vent is on the front right. The rear has all the ports which includes power, USB A and B, RCA Video and RCA stereo audio, VGA, and two HDMI. There is also a mono speaker on the rear. I purchased an Elite Screens Manual B, 100" 16:10 projector screen to go with this projector. The projector has worked very well with all of the content that I have given it. The adjustments worked well and were pretty intuitive allowing me to get a great picture with minimal fuss. This projector has a native resolution of 1920x1200 (WUXGA) which is slightly higher than 1080P. I assume this is because the projector is geared toward business use and that is a common PC resolution that gets you a little more vertical screen space for spreadsheets and such. Even so movies and console games fit within that resolution range well enough that you can use the projector for that kind of content and have a great picture as well. I have been thoroughly impressed with the picture quality; picture motion seems good and the picture is sharp with vibrant colors. The projector puts out 3,400 lumens, with the fan at 37 dB, and consumes 298 watts in standard mode. While in Eco mode it puts out 2,110 lumens, with the fan at 28 dB, while consuming 203 watts. The bulb is rated at 6,000 hours on standard mode and 10,000 on Eco mode. I looked up the regular replacement bulb price and at $50 I don’t think that is too bad. I only have a few complaints. The first is with them using a USB Wi-Fi dongle instead of having the components built-in. I also don’t like how the Wi-Fi has to work with the Epson phone app to display content from your phone. Things would be so much easier if they just used standard protocols and allowed you to cast to the projector using your phone’s built-in mechanisms for doing so. It looks like the next model up does this so if that is important to you that would be the one to check out. Which I am sure is what they intended. I also don’t like the ergonomics of the remote control. It is way too thick and just feels awkward in your hand. The built-in speaker has a tendency to distort some sounds at its higher volume levels. Overall I think this is a fantastic projector and I would not have been disappointed if I had paid full price for it.

This project exceeded my expectation for picture quality and ease of use. The projected image is gorgeous for an 1080p+ projector. Colors are vivid and the picture is very sharp. Zoom, tilt, and shift controls are easy to use. It quickly finds your input and displays it without delay. For a business projector, I can easily recommend this for anybody who wants to present bright, clear pictures with minimal fuss. It is not compact, but it is not huge and the picture quality justifies its size. For home theater use or use in a small conference room, I do have one caveat that makes it lose a star. Quite simply, the fan is not very silent. It churns away audibly and is distracting for watching a movie or to a conference phone sitting too close by. If you are several feet away from it, it isnt too noticeable, but be aware that this wont give you perfect silence.

Great plug and play projector. Although the purpose of this is almost certainly business I got it to display on my ceiling for movies and events. Setup is extremely easy. I plugged in the power, plugged in HDMI and thats it! Picture + sound. Everything you need to do for tuning is a button or lever on the unit, no need for sub menus. I adjusted focus and keystone in seconds so the image looks great on the ceiling. Brightness and image is good. Obviously sunlight is going to make it dimmer, curtains drawn good and nighttime amazing! Bright and sharp, perfect for a movie night. There are a couple of minor downsides. First is the heat and exhaust which blows directly out the front/right of the unit. Its fairly powerful and has a hot electronics smell to it. In a small room it could be unpleasant. Second is the speaker, at higher volumes it distorts. Granted its not meant to be a home theater unit and if youre using it for this you should be doing sound to your amps/speakers. Im really impressed with the image quality and ease of use on this projector and look forward to many fun events with it!
