I have had projectors for some years and lastly I bought one cheap but good specs projector which I had to return next day and come back to Epson, they know what they are doing, this home cinema 1060 is amazing, picture quality and brightness is just more than what I expected, I have tested it at 120 screen size and is like a full hd tv quality, recently I opened on a wall to about 180 inches screen and it was just amazing, I am really happy with it based on my old projectors, tons of research trying to get best value for my money and experience as an IT and video audio setups for events I do sometimes. CONS: Its a little heavy but I guess it has to be like that for the quality of the image we are talking here, smaller and lighter projectors just cant deliver such quality, sounds is not something you can rely on, and I dont expect to have a projector with really good quality speakers, its impossible or very very expensive, always better get sound from another source, any portable speaker can compliment a good huge size movie experience

Very few people have experiences with home video projectors because the prices wont allow people to just buy them and try them out. Ive owned two and tested a few before I bought this one. Here are the must have specs: 1) Bright output 3,000 lumens or higher. 2) Resolution must be no less than 900 pixels in height, so that means 1080p is the ideal resolution. You dont need 4K because the focus lens can smooth out pixels while maintaining a super sharp clean image. 3) 30 bit color depth or higher. Anything less makes the projected image look undesirable. This projector has all the high quality image specs in one. For sound, it has an AUX out to connect to a sound system. Most people will use a separate sound system and never use the projectors speakers, so this projector only having one small mono speaker is not an issue. It projects at 16:10 aspect ratio, which means that youll get the entire 16:9 image from side to side and the entire 4:3 image from top to bottom. It covers an entire 8 foot tall wall from just 6 feet away. Another great feature about this model is that the main output lens is tucked in deep the unit, that makes viewing the screen comfortable to your eyes because you dont get that bright side view light in your view like with projectors with the main out lens sticking out the body frame. I tested the LESHP projector that amazon sells for under $200, bad... really bad color depth, the image looks awful! I own the Epson PowerLite 3lcd DVD combo. The lumens is 2100, it makes the entire image disappear when you turn on the room lights. It has great color depth, but resolution is 720p, which is not bad, but not in the realms of greatness. Final thoughts: 3LCD is way better than DLP. Stay away from cheap priced projectors. The 1060 is the must have. Dont settle for less.

We have had a 92" fixed screen in our living room since 2004 and I have always been a fan of DLP projectors. Our 9 year old BenQ died so the hunt was on to replace. After agonizing over reviews for 2 months and narrowing a selection down I finally chose the HC1060. I still was hesitant that an LCD system was not going to outperform what I had been used to. Boy was I wrong. This projector delivers and makes a very vivid display that has impressed me entirely. The screen we have is a 1.2 gain formula that assists mostly in producing blacks during dark scenes but also helps increase light output as we have a lot of ambient outdoor light that comes through a nearby triple slider patio door. Even in the brightest part of the day the picture is displayed like a mural on the wall. This is on the ECO setting with a brightness level of 40. I am totally happy with the HC1060 with one small exception. There is some white light bleed-over around the perimeter of the picture that needs mitigated, which I am still working on. But with the magnificent picture clarity and color, I will gladly figure out the bleed-over and never question the decision to go with the HC1060.

Very happy to have found this HC1060. I was using a BENQ HT2150ST but due to the throw limitations had to have it on a tripod in the middle of my "cinema" room. It became annoying and I was back on the hunt to find a projector that would fit my precise specs (8ft throw/100" screen.) ProjectorCentral.com pointed me to this model (the only one that perfectly fits my room) so until they make a 4k short throw <$3k, this will absolutely suffice. ps - I have a completely light controlled room and cannot tell the difference between the HT2150ST and this HC1600.. Im admittedly not a cinephile though.

The picture quality is great but the sound is terrible (need external speakers but they wont connect to this projector, you need an Apple TV or some other way to bypass the audio). The remote is unnecessarily confusing. Also it seems like it should be easier to center everything on set up, but even facing directly towards a projector screen or a wall, the picture still needs tweaking to square up. That being said, its easy to setup with my AppleTV (HDMI plug and play), and the quality is great. There is an option with this projector model to connect this to a network directly, and I dont know if its because Im a Mac person or wha, but it was incomprehensible to me with the included directions. Overall, happy with purchase.

Standout product. The clarity is phenomenal for reading any kind of text, which makes it good for seeing and reading the Xbox interface that Im using. Its very bright and works well in ambient light so you can watch movies and play games even during the day. The blacks arent as black as some geeks might demand but Ill take its resilience against ambient light over darker blacks any day. The colors are excellent as well. I cant recommend it enough.

We just ordered this product - so I may edit the post as we get to use it more. So far, for indoor use, it is fabulous. The picture and sound are great and, while we ordered a screen, the image looks good even on the bare wall. We ordered a home theater system so we can use this outside to project movies on the lawn. We havent connected it yet but will report once we try the system and see how the sound quality is for outdoor use. So far, we love it.

Just amazing! I am using this projector in the basement on a silver ticket 117 inch white screen and words can’t even describe how amazing the picture is. Even with the lights on people think it’s a tv not a projector . Even set on ECO mode I can shine a flash light on the screen and you can barely see a difference in the picture quality. After my brothers saw a movie on this thing they both ordered them with silver screen screens. You can stand off to the side of the screen and the image is still amazing!

Love this projector. Some complain about the sound of the fan but coming from a ViewSonic 8200 pro where the fan seemed about just as lond if not louder sometimes even with rigorous cleaning of the vents and fan. I don’t see a problem. But there was this weird beeping sound that continuously went off while in eco mode. Contacted epson about the matter and was informed the bulb might not be set properly so I took out the bulb placed it back it and for a day didn’t seem to do anything busy the next day the beeping was gone. So not fully sure what that was all about. But outside of that everything else works perfect.
