Turns out you need to purchase an additional $100 adapter to use this wireless. I reviewed the product description on Amazon and on the Epson site again after confirming this with Epson tech support. Both neglect to mention this, and infer the thing is wireless ready out of the box. Very misleading advertising. I wonder what other "features" await discovery.

I purchased this new on July 31, 2017 It arrived and was in use by August 3rd. It was easy to install and it has worked amazingly well up until October 23, 2017. At the present moment I am receiving a "refurbished" (not new) unit from Epson. They suspect there appears to be a power issue. Both the temperature and the lamp lights are orange while the status light is blinking blue. The unit has been stationary since it was set up and also has plenty of ventilation. I personally feel that for the money I spent, I should not be dealing with this nor a defective product. Mind you Epson is sending me a "refurbished" unit and not a new unit with instructions on how to remove my lamp to use in the "refurbished" unit? I also find this to be a strange irregardless of their warranty policy. I also bought an extended warranty for this product which does not need to be used at this time (because the product warranty is good for a year) but I too find it odd to pay full price, to have it break from simple daily and stationary wear. To then be replaced with a "refurbished" and not a new unit where I am also expected to remove the lamp and install it in the replacement unit? I just hope the replacement/refurbished unit outshines my review and present mood with this product....worked great, total bummer now!

I initially purchase this projector because of the high lumen output. I wanted something that can be use with ambient light. This projector in my opinion is just mediocre. The image quality is quite poor compare to other projectors at this price point. The weirdest thing about this projector is the fact that its missing an audio out. I can understand if you use this strictly for presentation from your laptop, the audio out doesnt matter. However, audio out is a basic function that comes included on a $50 projector, why this EX5240 doesnt have one is beyond me. I recommend spending a bit more and purchase the Epson 2045. The image quality from the epson 2045 is night and day compare to this Ex5240. You may argue this projector is for presentation and you dont need the bells and whistles of a home cinema. This is where you would be surprise of how clear excel spreadsheet is displayed using the epson 2045. The Epson 2045 has bluetooth, miracast, wifi, and even performs well in ambient light. If you buy this EX5240 and decide you need the wireless function, you have to spend an extra $100 for the wireless adaptor. It seems silly to me that anyone would buy this projector when epson has something else far more superior for about the same price. I think you guessed it from my rambling. I returned this EX5240 and bought the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2045.

Be warned- if you would like to use the wireless feature on this projector, then you will need to purchase an additional part for $100. That was not clear to me at the time of purchase.

The picture clarity is awesome. It works well with any HDMI input including Chromcast. The only reason I gave a 4 star and not 5 star is because this projector does not have audio output. It has only an audio RCA input. If you need to connect to external speakers you will have to connect the source of video to external speakers. If you use an HDMI input like chromcast, you probably need to buy HDMI video audio splitter (around 25$ on amazon) to stream only video through projector and audio to your speakers/sound bar. Hope this this helps.

This will be one of several reviews. Ill write more as I use the product. I bought this projector because of the positive reviews and glad that I did. This projector has an amazing picture and is very easy to use. I have it at ten feet and have about a 94 inch picture. Currently using the living room wall, which is egg shell, works just fine though ,and like I said, its an awesome picture.Ive heard some comment about poor sound and that the fan is loud. Well, my wife has asked me on several occasions if I could turn it down a little. I have purchased surround sound speakers for this, havent used them yet, really dont need to.... As far as the fan goes, I cant hear it when Im watching a movie, and when viewing pictures, I can barley hear it.. I have mine connected to my lap top via an HDMI cable and have been watching Netflix. Actually when using my lap top now I just use the projector as my monitor. It really is an awesome picture. I have had several friends and family over to either watch a movie or look at my daughters weeding pictures, and they all agree, the picture is truly HD....I use to have a 60 inch television and this picture is better, and much easier on your eyes...Im feeling a little guilty though, and almost regret buying it now, because Im spending more time watching movies and neglecting some of my chores..LOL

AH-MAZING product. Best projector I have ever had in terms of colors, crispness, and ability to adjust the image. The ONLY FLAW is that the speakers are crap, so you need to have audio cords to connect alternative speakers.

Ive been using this projector for a week now and i have to say im satisfied with this purchase. Currently Ive been using it mostly for power point presentations and to watch a video every now and then. With regards to the projection quality, the images/videos are displayed crisp and clear in 4x3 aspect ratio. Its bright and easily visible in a well lit room. The speaker output quality of the projector is also quite decent and loud enough for a small classroom, however, Im not too happy that it does not have any means of connecting an external speaker to it. The setup is easy and straight forward and i would say plug and play except when using the USB cable, in which case the drivers had to be installed first. I purchased this product from seller Copy That!, delivery was super fast. I totally recommend this projector.

Our last projector was an 81P. We used it 4 hours a week for more than 12 years with maybe 1 re-lamp. Then had to replace due to greening (burning of the UV lens adhesive due to age). The 3,600 lumen vs the deteriorated 2,000 was no comparison. Even the older people in the room made first time statements that they could see all of the wording on the screen. Colors during dark and bright house lighting are nothing short of excellent. Well worth the purchase and less than 1/2 what was paid for the 81P 12 years ago when it was new. Thank you.

Ive been using it weekly for business meetings plus the occasional home movie with the kids. Its easy to use and an effective business tool. The unit provides the ability to shut off the lamp instantly and then turn it on right away (with the use of a slide panel) without having to wait for the lamp to power up or cool down. That is a really nice feature that has not been available on other projectors I have used. It has great tools also that allow you to easilly adjust your image when the projection is off-center. Overall... great projection unit
