After reviewing several different projectors of different brands and price points, I decided to go with this one, DR.J 1800 Lumens for several reasons. 1. MONEY VALUE - I am always looking to get the biggest bang for the buck regardless of what type of product I am buying. I am willing to pay more money for a more superior product if it means the product will last longer and the quality is better. However, this projector defied all the odds by being the cheapest at this price point and the best quality. 2. INPUTS/OUTPUT OPTIONS - I wanted a projector that allowed multiple types of inputs and outputs (HDMI, USB, and Audio) which this projector had. Although the audio on the projector is enough for most settings, I wanted a deeper bass and crisper sound for music so the audio output allows me to use an independent speaker. 3. TRIPOD MOUNT - Due to most projectors only allowing you to adjust the up and down level by about an inch, I wanted the ability to attach the projector to a generic camera tripod so I could have a full range of adjustment. Dr.J has that and I am incredibly grateful I decided not to sacrifice that. 4. LUMENS - The majority of projectors at this price point were only 1500 lumens (give or take). 300 lumens more may not sound like a lot, but when you are projecting onto a wall in your home rather than paying more money for a screen, the 300 lumens allows the color of the projected image to overpower the color of the wall (being that the wall color is pretty light). 5. HDMI CORD - I initially forgot about buying an HDMI cord. However, when I opened this projector they already had one in the box which works great. Couldnt believe it was already there for me and they went above and beyond to lower their profit margin by a little bit to have a better customer experience. OVERALL - I would and have HIGHLY suggested this projector to anyone who asks or sees the setup we have at our house. Due to purchasing it in the winter time I have not tried it outside yet, but as soon as the cold breaks our family will be taking it outside for family cookouts and just fun in the backyard.

Works great. We had purchased to use outside for movies for the kids. I plan on using in the fall to watch college football with my friends. The picture is clear on the 10 ft screen we also bought. Works with amazon fire stick which was another bonus.

I wanted to wait until I tried out the this projector and Ive had the DR.J projector for two months now. I cant say I have any complaints or surprises from it! I would highly recommend this product to anyone else. Ive had this hooked up to a blu-ray player and my computer to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime movies. It has preformed exactly as was described in description. I dont own a TV anymore, so this is the only way I watch movies and TV shows now. I run the projector nearly everyday for anywhere between 2-6 hours depending on the day. I have the projector set up so it displays about 100 inches. Ive not noticed any blurriness or any other issues at this size. There are a few things that I do want to echo that other people have already mentioned. I do not recommend using this in a room that isnt very dark. I dont have blackout curtains in the room I use it in, and sometimes during the day it can become difficult to see or washed out. Also, it has an internal fan (projectors get warm so no getting around this), and it can be somewhat loud in a small room. This can make it difficult to hear the audio coming directly from the projector So I recommend hooking it up to an external speaker. Which, it is easy because it comes with a standard audio jack. I have mine hooked up to a Bose speaker, and ran the cord so the sound comes from the front near the screen. With it set up in this manner I dont even notice the noise of the fan. If you keep these two things in mind when you order and are prepared for them already, I think you should have an equally great experience with this product.

I purchased this for an outdoor party for my kids. As a projector, I knew it would have to be at night. EVEN with our exterior light on, this picture is still very vibrant. Again, I am not comparing this to a movie projector or an epson brand but for the price paid, it is very good. My brother and his wife were over and very impressed. They were looking to buy one for a long time for their game room but didnt want to drop $350+. Neither did I. So I took a chance on this one. The positive views are correct. I do not know what the issues were with the 1 star reviews, perhaps they got a unit that was beat up or something but mine worked great. CONS: Picture Adjustment: I do wish it had a little more adjustment in the focus area. But I imagine I am viewing the picture outside the recommended viewable area. The Remote: The remote IR sensor is on the side next to the plugins. So you can only control it from that side. I know some people were complaining about the remote having to be used right up on the unit, likely because the sensor is on the side rather than on the top. It is annoying but, not something the bothers me alot. Perhaps when I start using it more? But I imagine this is only going to be a problem when trying to change media. Speaker: The built in speaker is kinda chincey. But I expected that going into it. Not only from the reviews, but I ordered a projector. Not a home theatre. It might be ok for a small room but outside, I hooked up some external speakers. PROS: Brightness: Where do I begin. While I would like the unit to be brighter, it is brighter than I expected. USB: I played 3 different movies as a test. Utilizing different movie formats and it played them just fine. Even with a resume function. That I liked alot. Other connectors: I have not connected a HDMI or VGA or microSD card to it. I may one day. More likely the VGA or HDMI but havent yet. RESULTS: WOW! Im happy I bought this. My daughter is happy and my mother came over and was impressed with the idea of having a 10 foot tv! I even projected a movie on the next door neighbors house which was unfinished and unpainted block and it was ok. Not real bright obviously being unpainted. But the thought of having a 30ft TV in your backyard is pretty cool to me lol. (See the dimmest picture of the bunch) Anywho. If you are contemplating a projector, this one will likely fill the bill nicely. PS. I do not own the movies pictured. Please do not sue me.

I have a mix feeling for this, but overall, its good. Its a genuine 840 X 480 px projector. That is the first thing I would check when I got any projector Made in China by an unknown brand because its THE most important part of a projector and it could be fake. So, this projector is capable of displaying fonts up to 8px, even thought the photos in my review dont show it clearly; Part of that is because I dont have a proper projection screen, as putting the image on a rough wall will decrease its resolution, but even with my not ideal shiny and rough wall, the image quality when viewed 2-3 meters away is still stunningly good. See video for a sample clip; The sound quality is not the best. Dont compare it to a high end speaker but do compare it to a typical laptop, and its better than the speakers in my laptop, much louder and clearer. For folks who cant endure bad stereo sound, there is a 3.5mm audio jack output. TF is the alternative word for Micro-SD to the Chinese, so the TF slot is actually the Micro-SD slot, and Its also my main memory. A 32GB TF card can hold up to 64 hours of 480p video file. Here is the list of the things that I dont like about this projector: 1, Very loud fans and hot air flow. It has a tiny LED heatsink and a small fans, so it needs higher rpm thus much louder!!! 2, Horizontally Not Leveled. Instead of on a flat table, better use it on a tripod or a mount, so it can be corrected easily. 3, File names not in order. I have some files: x1, x2, x3, x4 , and they ended up in this order: x1, x3, x4, x2; Not a huge problem, but annoying. 4, Doesnt support webm and so far with one of my videos, audio is not working at all, probably due to an not supported audio codec. 5, Mine comes with a dislocated screen. The screens are not secured correctly. If you shake your projector a bit, and hear something moving inside, then you should open it up and add a tape to the edge of those screens. Last but not least, since this is a true 480p projector, loading anything higher resolution than 480p to it will not increase its video quality at all, so a 720p video file will be the same as a 480p video file in term of picture quality, but a 720p video file is much larger in size than a 480p. Update: we bought a $25 projection screen. The picture quality is much better than a wall as expected. See last two photos.

I cannot believe I fell for the positive reviews. The item no way in hell is 1080p. The instruction/paper which it came with clearly mentions setting the laptop/source to 1024 x 768. Plus it says NOT to be used for Word, Excel, Presentations, etc. So what is it good for !? And I really want to question the advertised brightness/lumens. Videos and pictures are only decently visible in abs. dark rooms. I think the positive reviews are possibly from folks who either have not tried the Viewsonics, BenQ or other reputable brands or in low or medium light situations. For ex. in a party hall, you cannot expect to turn the lights off completely. Or the positive reviewers have a good one and want to use this in a spare situation given the price point and portability. Edit: Seller did contact me and resolved the situation to my satisfaction which should give confidence to other buyers to try and see if the projector fits their needs. Hence upgrading the review to Neutral.

The DR.J Mini Projector is by far one of the best projectors I have seen.. From its distinct size to its multiple capabilities, you definitely cant go wrong with this projector whatsoever. The actual dimensions of the projector are 7-51/64" x 6-1/32" x 2-45/64". It is relatively small compared to the bricks of our past. It features a 1500 lumen LED bulb which produce a significantly bright picture, and power consumption is kept to a minimum. I have always wanted to have the Cinema like quality at my house, and with this Unit, I am definitely completely satisfied. The amount of inputs are amazing as well, you are able to connect to HDMI for 1080p Full HD resolution, to a USB port, a VGA port so that you have the ability of connection your computer to show pictures along with other presentations in which you may have. I do have to say that the convenience of being able to connect multiple devices to this unit and remotely select between them will help you save time with any presentation you may have. Included in the box you will find a DR.J mini Projector, Remote, HDMI cable, Audio cable . I absolutely love the fact that you can connect your favorite smart device to this unit. For Apple users- You will need the Lightning to HDMI Cable For Android users- MHL to HDMI cable. I love the Full 1080P full Resolution. This product gives you the ability to chose from either a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, which will definitely help you get the most out of your picture depending on the size picture screen/ area that you have to work with. The picture just blows my mind.. I never thought that I could ever duplicate a theater like picture in my own home.. But DR. J has done it once again. I will attach a video clip of the movie "DAYS OF THUNDER" which I had watched when I first connected this unit. I am completely speechless with the picture quality, and that with me using my wall as the screen. If I had an actual screen, It would be even better. But there are definitely no complaints here. After a little flash from the past of watching one of my all time favorite movies, I set up the unit so that my family and I could look over pictures of the past and reminisce. It is so nice to be able to look over pictures with family and friend while sitting back relaxing, as opposed to having them all sit over your shoulder trying to see what picture you are talking about. No more going to the movie theaters for my family, we will just get a movie from Amazon or Netflixs, and spend the time and save the money for popcorn. This unit is quite small in size, but dont let its size fool you. The possibilities of this device are endless. Id definitely have to say you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this item for everyone that wants that Movie theater quality and size of picture without the costly movie theater concession prices. You can watch movies anytime of any day and enjoy them with all your family and friends.

This is the perfect projector for a budget shopper who has a dark room in which you can view movies, or those who like to watch it at night. It isnt designed for sporting events or high-detail video games, but it takes you back to the old movie experience when everything didnt seem digital. Even digitally designed movies arent as fake when you watch them on this screen. My only issue is with the brightness of the display, but I dont have a screen, and am using a light brown/tan wall to project onto, so I am not getting the true experience of the device. It also has some noise for the fan, but with a sound system appropriate to match a projector, it isnt noticeable. It is highly portable and can be attached to any standard tripod for ease of use in different environments. I just wish the light would be upgradeable, but for the price, it is the best option for anyone interested in a projector experience. Now that I have it, I am looking into screens, but the well-rated ones are more expensive than the projector itself! I find it funny that I want a more expensive screen to bring out an even better picture in an already excellent device.

So far I have no complaints about this projector. Picture quality is great at 84". (size of my screen) The decription said it was compatible the Fire Stick which Im sure that it is. I connected a Roku Streaming Stick using the on board USB of the projector. It powers the Roku and the video quatity was much more than I expected. For the price this little projector is a great. Others with half the specs was twice the money. Got my vote all day long and recommend to anyone looking for a great buy.
