Awesome picture quality. Bright enough for darker rooms. Meets expectations! Cons: 1. A bit too noisy for my taste. You can hear it during quieter scenes. 2. No horizontal keystone correction is bummer. I have to move my screen to perfectly align with the lens.

The picture quality is good. With 4K, pixels are become invisible. Text is smooth. Very noisy fan, even in the Silence mode (no 4K mode). This doesnt bother me much during movie time. But I also use the projector as secondary monitor, and the noise is very annoying during daily use. I came from a BenQ W1070. I was hope that this HT3550 is a direct replacement. However, not the same throw ratio with W1070. I needed to request installation service.

I have had a BenQ projector (W1070) for five years. When I heard that a 4k direct replacement was coming (HT3550), I placed a pre-order as soon as available. I just received and installed today. First test was the 4k BumbleBee video. Amazing clarity and brightness with very little adjustment necessary. The dynamic iris and HDR make a significant impact on movie presentation. Second test was HD content with Pens vs Islanders first round hockey playoffs great picture, even with fast paced camera panning. So far this HT3550 is everything the W1070 was when I first purchased, but with the added 4k and dynamic Iris and HDR. Very pleased with initial experience. Highly recommend.

This projector was a direct upgrade from an HT2050A and is my first 4K unit. I have to say, the sharpness of the image and richness of color continue to blow me away in the past few days Ive had it installed. The improved contrast due to the inclusion of a dynamic iris is an added bonus as well! My Home Theater is fairly small, being 11x13ft in size, so my front row is close to my screen. This was manageable with the 2050A as long as you didnt learn forward, but literally standing a foot from my screen I can hardly make out individual pixels. I skipped the 2550 last year because it seemed like it had a little too much baggage. But just like other reviewers have stated, I think BenQ nailed it with this projectors performance at this price point and many will make the jump over to 4K. Amazon for its part seemed completely aloof as to the stock situation with the HT3550, so fortunately I was able to acquire one elsewhere and couldnt be happier!

Well Ive had this for 2 or 3 weeks now. I been messing around with it on a 100" matte white 1.0 gain screen, 120" on a beige wall, 92" on .9 ALR screen. Image out of the box is amazing 4k HDR with disc or 4k scream from Apple TV 4k. Coming from 1080p projector definitely can go back. And having a 55" LG OLED in my living room spoiled watching movies, but lacks immersive size and my full Dolby Atmos setup. So this definitely the next step, with the BenQ HT3550 I still get my 1080p Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and now 4k Blu-ray with HDR, while keep my DOLBY Atmos, DTSX, AURO 3D and now Imax Enhanced Audio setup. With a nice 1.13 throw allows me to go bigger screen and use and acoustic transparent screen now with out compromising my speaker placement now.

First of all I would like to say to all those who are new to projectors to do your research before one. This is my 5th one and I learn something new that I didnt know with the prior one. I started with a 720p ViewSonic and despite its lack of technical and features it actually had the most lumens . This Ben q rivals my ViewSonic with brightness and thats a welcome addition. Placement of your projector is super important as well and I learned that the hard way. The farther away you place your projector from your screen the less brighter the image. This Ben q is replacing my Epson 8345 that has 1600 lumens. Its only recommended for dark rooms with very little light coming in but the Ben q with double the lumens can be used with the lights on and even a curtainless window during the day! Im not a technical guy when it comes to number and side by side comparisons detecting the smallest flaw in an image . I look at out of the box picture quality and the 3550 in my view delivers!
