One of my fellow IT friends was showing off his new projector at work (this exact model), and it immediately became the new gadget that I didnt technically need, but could suddenly think of a bajillion really cool uses for. I could do backyard movie nights with friends! I would be able to watch YouTube videos -- really big -- anywhere (which would be fun for kitten videos, but particularly useful for all the DIY videos that seem futile trying to watch on a phone). I could use it in my rec room setup to play retro video games. I could lazily lay back and watch Netflix on my ceiling. The list goes on. When it arrived, as I was inspecting the contents of the box, I was very impressed with the packaging, the organization of all the accessories, and the overall "sleekness" of the box. Normally I dont care about such things, so long as the product works. That being said, I do notice the small touches. The projector was packaged very professionally, with all the accessories I needed out of the box, and a useful manual to boot! I know I ordered it for me, but it struck me as very gift-worthy had I not. The other thing that I noticed, even before I turned it on, is that all the accessories that you need to connect it to something with an HDMI output, such as a Roku, laptop, Blue Ray player, etc. were included. (This meant no rummaging through drawers to look for charging or HDMI cables!) There was even a handy mount! There are some applications that the HDMI cable might not be long enough for, but for most connecting to a laptop, it was perfect. I tried it out initially hooking it up to my laptop in my spare bedroom, just to play with the settings. I tried this during normal daylight, and was impressed that I could see a clear picture even during the day. (I tried it later in the evening, and discovered the picture absolutely dazzles at night.) There was a dial to focus the picture, and buttons to control the sound. Though this may sound a bit on the minimalist side, I think it is a credit to the genuinely plug-and-play design. I know there are a few schools of thought on this one, because I know some people prefer devices that have their own operating systems and more on-board settings that allow finer adjustments from the device itself. Personally, even though as an IT person Im supposed to be more of a gadget geek, I appreciate devices like this projector that are truly plug-and-play, and can be operated by anyone in the house, without having to be familiarized to the different features. Later, I dropped the projector and my daughter to my Moms house for a sleepover, and she was equally impressed with the ease of use. Literally, the only setup required is hooking up the HDMI cable and turning it on, making it an ideal device for even the non-tech savvy. I will say that the on-board sound may not be loud enough for some applications, but there is an audio output that can easily connect to a soundbar or extrenal speakers (or headphones), as well as a USB out and cable for charging may sound devices. For me this isnt an issue, as I use the device in rooms its well-suited to. If I were using it outdoors, I would probably attach it to some external speakers for extra ooomph. Also, the only video input is the HDMI or MHL, so out of the box, it is ready to use with any device that has an HDMI output, or MHL output with the cord. If you would like to connect it to your phone, or your old-school gaming system, there are many readily available, inexpensive HDMI-to-whatever cables and converters out there. It would be ideal if there were a few more inputs, particularly a USB input, but I am fine working off of the HDMI input. Overall, I feel like this was a solid buy. The projectors picture is impressive, and its portability and versatility make it a home run.

Wow, just got this projector and i cant say enough about how fantastic the picture is. Ive purchased a few other budget projectors and this one by far exceeds the quality of the others. I was worried about the brightness but even with the lights on its visible. The color and contrast ratio are spot on and it works well with amazon fire stick. Cant wait to use it next week on the road. I will be using it on the road to binge watch some netflix while i travel for work.

Install Flash Player Do you need a pico projector? Probably not. But this is one of those things that once you have it, you don’t know how you can live without it. At least for us that’s true. Back in the old days, a projector costs thousands of dollars and weight 20 pounds. I was looking for a pico projector that is affordable, small enough that I can use to project my computer screen temporarily for meetings when there are no projection system or large monitor screen available. Even though this projector only outputs about 50 to 100 lumens, it is good enough in a room with shades drawn. You can check it out in the video review. The projector, when used in a completely dark room, shows a much better image. We typically use it in our bedroom, projecting to a 90 inch wide image to watch movies. Since this thing is battery powered, all we need is to plug my iPhone into this thing, mount it on a tripod, and have a complete movie theatre set up. The only thing we are giving up is the sound. The projector has built in small stereo speakers. It is exactly what it is. I guess if I wanted bigger sound, I can connect it, via a 3.5mm cable, to a larger speaker. But for us, just the large image is good enough to make it an enjoyable movie watching experience. The projector comes with a good set of accessories — including the HDMI cable, and a mini HDMI connector adaptor so that you can plug in some mobile devices that has the mini connector. It comes with the charging brick with a USB out that output 2.4A. That was a nice touch, since most electronic devices these days just assume that you have a USB charger brick already. The projector also includes a plastic, basic mini tripod. Again — you probably want to mount the projector on a larger tripod. But the fact that they include a basic one is nice. Overall, we are very happy with it. There is something about being able watch a movie that is 8 feet across!

Install Flash Player This Apeman mini projector gives much more than what I expected. To be honest, I did not think such a tiny projector could offer almost as good pictures as my big full size BenQ one. I bought it for the portability, and now am thinking I could totally just use this one instead of the big one. Its very light weight, and the tripod it comes with is very sturdy. Super easy to setup, just charge the projector before using it, connect it with your laptop/phone/dvr/whatever devices you want to project, center it towards your screen, turn it on and set the focus. Thats it. It even comes with a mini hdmi converter, so if your phone has a hdmi port, you can project thru your phone directly. The manual says if you use an iPhone, you need some special cable. Im not an Apple user, cannot provide any feedback about that. Im in love with this little cutie now!

MUCH better than Id expected! Bought it on a Black Friday lightning round, because the price was to good to resist. Finally opened it on Christmas to see if it worked... Showed my parents, they were both amazed. Im wishing id bought a few more at that price. The lack of Bluetooth is the only drawback as I can tell thus far. Otherwise I Love it! The sound produced by it is pretty good, not great, but good.

Im an avid football (the soccer kind :)) fan and due to the time difference between Europe and the US many of the live (yeah, I need to watch the games live :)) games here are very early in the morning, especially on the West Coast. Once in a while I kinda wished I could stay in bed and watch the game on my ceiling. Well, quite frankly, I didnt quite expect that I would start 2019 with being able to achieve that little wish of mine! This little device is extremely capable. I plug it in easily and can project clear, crisp pictures onto my ceiling now. For that once in a while Saturday or Sunday morning where I feel like being comfortable in my bed and want to watch the game on my ceiling, this device is great! Of course once in a while I also use it to project on a wall as well. The sound is very good, but you can easily use the audio out to output the sound to external speakers. If I desire stronger audio than the one the device produces, I plug in a Bluetooth transmitter to the audio out to transmit the sound to external Bluetooth capable speakers...that way I can avoid the hassle of having to deal with additional wires. Wireless video projection already exists in some ways in todays world, but for this device you will need an HDMI cable to connect to your laptop or phone or whatever other device (cable box, etc) that you will be using to send a video signal. Im very pleased to see that this device can be powered on (after being charged of course) without being plugged into AC though. So if you use the built in audio or a Bluetooth transmitter to transmit the audio to external speakers, the only wire youll need after it is charged is the HDMI cable. The device does make a sound that can be heard easily, but when youre watching with normal level audio you cant hear the device at all. Plus to get the right angle I end up placing it sufficiently away from me anyway. I havent taken it on travels yet but given how small it is I can totally see myself taking it on trips! Dont be fooled by its size and definitely dont think that its just a "toy". If youre looking for a simple and easy to use projector that is portable yet capable, I highly recommend getting this device!

Have had experience with classical size projectors and decided to give this mini projector a try based on its convenient size. This mini projector is small, almost the size of my husband’s palm, but produces a quality picture and sound. It came with several accessories including a power supply, a USB to Type C cord, an HDMI cable, an HDMI to mini HDMI converter, and a portable tripod. Cables are good quality but I hoped they were a little longer. It’s difficult to use the projector while charging as the USB type C cord is short. The mini projector charged fairly fast and it last at least two hours. This projector did not come with a lightning cable to connect to an Apple device so I had to connect it with my iPad using my own Apple lightning cable. Pictures are sharp and color contrast is good on my dark green wall. I also like the built in speaker as it offers a clear sound. The tripod that came with the projector is quite small and light, easy to carry, and supports the projector with the ability to easily adjust its angles. Recommend to get the bigger tripod if you plan to leave the projector standing in a room. All over, this mini projector is a well made product, in a reasonable price range and it is a suitable device to bring on a road trip or camping.

First to start off I love the sleek and stylish design! The size of the projector makes it very easy to carry around and I can have it setup anywhere that I like whether it’s at work, a family gathering or a friends place the portability is just so convenient! I’ve gotten so much compliments from friends and family, they could not believe how projectors have changed from such a robust shape to this elegant design. I did fear that I would be trading in convenience for quality, however the picture quality is excellent! In my opinion better if not the same as a standard industrial projector. There are built-in speakers which is a plus but I would recommend having the audio plugged into an external source via auxiliary cable. For the past few weeks that I’ve had it I’ve ran into no issues, projector has worked fine with my Apple TV, PS4, and laptop with no stutters, no hiccups, no connectivity issues whatsoever. This projector has made my experience with gaming, movie nights, and even just browsing the web even better! I would definitely recommend a household have at least one these, I absolutely love it!

I bought this because my husband and I, and often our three kids, like watching movies or shows on Amazon Prime, which we do not have connected in our TV on any way. This used to mean that wed gather around my smartphone, which made things a bit crowded. My sister shared with me that these existed, and it sure sounded like an an answer to watching the stuff that we wanted to view together as a family in a means easy for everyone to see, and certianly with some more flexibly than on a TV. This projector arrived just before the kids and I were set to travel for a few days, so we packed it along (which is easy to do in its handy little box--just tucked it in the suitcase alongside everything else) and first gave it a try at the hotel. The kids love certian YouTube shows, and they enjoyed getting to show them to their cousin on the new projector as they sprawled out in bed at the hotel. We were also able to look up a favorite movie and they watched it while us adults did packing and readying chores for the next day. I love how easy the projector makes it to watch whatever you want to watch on a big screen wherever you go! When I was a kid, we would have been limited to whatever channels the hotel TV had, with none of anything you wanted at your fingertips, as we can now, and even on nice sized screen with a super-portable projector! Back home, I plugged it in and shined it on the wall in the bedroom to watch an episode of a favorite show of mine from Amazon Prime before bed with my husband, and with this, there was no need to adjust the phone juuusssst right to make sure we could both see it well. Yay! Its VERY easy and no-fuss to get up and running; even the kids easily can. The projector and equiptment is all of nice, durable quality, and, like I said, stores and mobilizes well to take along wherever you need it. The tripod is easy to adjust and holds the projector stable nicely, the manual is clear and easy to follow, and the cords and parts dont take rocket science to figure out (I like my electronics simple, and this is!). Im really, really glad we bought this. Our family does so much of our media watching from smartphone and laptop screens, and this makes it a thousand times easier to kick back and enjoy it together without struggling and vying for the just-right angle for everyone to see. Very nice. Were quite happy with it.

This well built and stylish little cutie comes in a nice gift box. It’s pocket size and weights 210g only. This is a real portable mini projector. With chargeable device, I don’t have to worry about connecting power supply cable. Frankly speaking, I don’t have high expectations on a DLP projector. But to my surprise, it provides high quality pictures. I project it onto my 70 inches wide screen. The image is sharp with bright colors and high contrast. Comparing with my 2400 lumens LED projector, I can’t tell big difference. But you know, DLP one is much smaller and lighter. The built in speaker is loud. It’s absolutely a great travel pal. It’s so easy to carry and setup. The most exciting thing is I can project to ceiling with mounting on tripod. Imagine how amazing it is, to watch a movie laying on your own bed! Love it.
