I am basing this review based on the fact that this is a certified refurbished unit and I knew that going in. It did not come in the original retail box. That doesnt bother me. It came with an hdmi cable, the remote, the DVD player and the setup instructions. You will need 2 AAA batteries for the remote. Cosmetically I could not tell it was a refurbished unit. No scratches or any visible signs of previous use. I unboxed it and in about 10 minutes I had it connected to our wifi and had it logged into our Netflix and Amazon Prime account and began streaming a movie for our 4 year old. After he watched one movie via streaming he then watched one bluray DVD and 2 non bluray dvds. I have already ordered a 2nd one to use for our out door movie nights. The built in wifi will be great for streaming outside and of course using the blu ray for high quality movies for our outdoor movie night. I highly recommend this certified refurbished unit. I did notice that it said over 250 apps. After 8 hours of non stop use it was still only showing 11 apps. I was only concerned with Amazon Prime and Netflix for my needs and those are 2 of the 11 showing up. So I am still happy with my purchase for the price. I did check to see if there was a firmware upgrade available and it said my unit had the most current firmware available. So even though I am not seeing 250 apps I still intend to keep it as it will fit my needs.

This Blue-Ray DVD player is better than the Samsung I already have. Its twice the player at half the price! It took minutes to set up and it was so easy. IMPORTANT: it comes with the HDMI cable, I was pleasantly surprised . All you need is two (2) AAA batteries for the remote. Setup is as easy as plugging it in and it will prompt you for your wi-fi password then youre ready to access Netflix and the rest. Its a good deal you guys.

I waited 6 months to give a review. My player will only play Netflix. At first, when it would not connect to internet, I could unplug it for several minutes, go through the set up process, and get it to connect again. I have tried all day today and nothing. Restarting router etc doesnt help and every other device is working fine...so it is definitely an issue with this lousy player. I am a single mom and it is all I could afford. I should have saved my money.

I thought for the price this would be worth the gamble, but I cant believe how much is wrong with this BluRay Player. Manufacturing Defects 1. Drops the WiFi password constantly 2. Quality of DVD/Bluray is pixelated 3. No audio out of the Coax 4. Noisy when spinning a disc Engineering Defects 1. No light to indicate its on. 2. About 10 of the buttons on the remote have no discernible function

Typical Samsung: player was working fine for a few months. Then, one day, I get a "System Recover" screen that says I need to update. Website doesnt have update and I cant get out of the screen. Talk to Samsung, and they give me a link to put on USB to place in player to update. But, with the System Recover screen still on, I cant get to the USB to update. Now, they expect me to pay to get it serviced ... for a machine that was working just fine. Now, why the heck would I spend money to fix a not-broken machine over just spending my money on a different brand altogether?

I was looking for something cheap for our bedroom TV and this was perfect! I can access our Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and Pandora accounts right through the interface. Playback for blu-rays and streaming is perfect. Not sure why people are having such a terrible time with it. Accuweather access is great too! I really like the "screensavers" available as well. Only downsides: the Opera Apps Store is a little dated, cant find apps for HBO Go or Sling. And I do wish it had some sort of light to indicate when its on/off, but its not really a big deal at the end of the day!

UPDATE: The DVD player has been making "buzzing" noises the last few days... sometimes it also has difficulty connecting to the wifi. I find this strange because I never have any issues with my iPad, iPhone, personal or work computer. I would recommend buying an extended warranty or going with another product. This has been the first "certified refurbished" item I have ever purchased. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the Blu-Ray player. It was like it was brand new! The package contained almost everything that you need. It was quick and easy to set up! Great purchase. NEED 2 AA batteries for the remote - DO NOT NEED the HDMI cable as it is provided (Amazon says people commonly buy another cord - not necessary)

I was looking for a cheap dvd player to entertain my grand kids. Was surprised to find a blu-ray player with internet for $39.00. It arrived today in a Samsung box marked "refurbished" the player came with all of the accessories and appeared to be new. I plugged it into my Samsung TV and it turned the unit on automatically. I entered my wifi password and it hooked up to the internet. I went to settings and clicked "update software" It took about twenty minutes. Since then I have tried several dvds including copied video files and they all worked flawlessly. What a bargain! I cant think of any negatives except for the fact that I had to put 2 aaa batteries in the remote. No, I didnt get a discount for a good review. I paid full price. I have learned after years of internet shopping that most reviews come from customers that are very unhappy or very happy, not the average customer. I have been buying manufacturer refurbished products for years and never had an issue. At least someone has inspected the item. This may not hold true for "seller refurbished" products. I am one of those very pleased customers!

This was the worst experience ever. I purchased two of these and neither one of them would connect to the internet. The box came with no instructions just a photocopied Samsung booklet. It took me some research to find a Samsung customer service number after three hours me and Samsung figured out that these devices were outdated and out of warranty they needed to be updated witch needed an internet connection to do. Because I could not hook it up to the Internet because it was outdated of course this was impossible for me. Samsung stated I could buy some USB drives which could be mailed to me in a matter of 2 weeks and these could be used to update these devices. I was so upset I couldnt find words. Not only did I purchase two of these things but I cant even use them. I ended up contacting Amazon which told me I had to return these items for refund. The only way I can return them is by UPS which is a drive for me so not only did I waste money buying these devices but I have to go out of my way to return them this was a horrible buying experience, do not purchase these items they are outdated and do not work, no Wi-fi can hook up to them.
