Old TV died. Bought new one. Samsung QLED. Purchased this Samsung 4k UHD Blu ray to go with it. Hook-up, simple as can be. Picture, epic. Interface with TV, seamless. Highly recommended. In addition, player arrived a day ahead of schedule. Good deal all the way around.

I was already using a UBD-M8500 in the bedroom of my house on an LG 4k TV and it worked great. I wanted a second UBD-M8500 to use in the living room on a Samsung 4k TV, so I ordered one from Hot Deals Electronics via amazon.com. I ordered the UBD-M8500 on Monday 4/15/2019 and it was delivered on Wednesday 4/17/2019. I had elected free shipping, thinking it would take a week to get to me, but I was pleased to get in 3 days time. The UBD-M8500 does a very good job playing 4k HDR disks, regular blu ray disks, and dvd disks. The upscaling of regular blu ray disks and DVDs to near 4k quality is excellent. Samsung has an excellent app store, where you can find the major apps to install such as: Netflix, Vudu, Fandango Now, Roku Channel, Google Play Movies, Amazon Video, Crackle, Youtube, Accuweather, Pandora Radio, Amazon Music, and many more. The blu ray player is DLNA certified, so you can play mp3 music and mp4 video files from a device such as WD MyCloud or even a usb thumb drive. The Wifi works great. The blu ray player also has a built in web browser too.

I cant seem to get a full size picture. Large horizontal bars at top and bottom of picture no matter what screen setting I have. My old samsung dvd has a screen size adjustment button. no such adjustment button here. There are some screen adjustment buttons which do absolutely nothing.
