I do our home electronics. Think of the excitement - one chord and the TV and DVD player were hooked up together and working correctly in 10 min. I should have bought a new DVD/HD blue Ray years ago. NOTE: Other reviewer suggests a special chord to carry the higher amount of information. Her/his TV blacked out with with 4k DVDs. My old chords (3 prong antiques) did a poor job of video and when I hooked up the sound the TV went black. I bought the video chord suggested by the previous reviewer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CLUXTZ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I am not equally impressed with the remote. Thick remote; buttons do not handle crisply. Have to point directly at DVD to get it to register. Still would get this again.

I got this LG to go with my Vizio p series. The picture quality is wonderful for hdr10 and Dolby vision it runs quiet. 1080p looks good, DVD films not so much. I do have one grip is that when I fast forward a DVD disc for some reason the entire player freezes I have to unplug it in order for it to work again still hunting for solutions, since I dont watch many DVDs nowadays its not that big of a problem but if you have a big collection you might want to hold off on this particular player

had this for a couple of weeks now. pictures pretty decent, but really shy on features and customizing. dolby vision & atmos works. forget about using this as a streaming device comes w youtube and netflix. thats it. a little cheapy feel to it. very simple menus. remotes isnt great either. does the job for playing discs, which is the sole reason i got it, but probably a little overpriced. i got it on sale and feel probably should of paid less than that....but, a hard disc will always out class the best streaming sound and picture, & it does an adequate job of that. do not buy this for a streaming device!

Player arrived defective. The disc tray opened automatically as soon as I plugged the unit in, and it never accepted any discs whatsoever. It didnt matter how many times I would press the button to close it, it would just open back up by itself and stay open. Waste of my time.

I couldnt even test out the thing. The tray wouldnt open all the way. I shouldve suspected something when I opened the package and saw the box upside down. There was also no cushioning in the package. So the box was sliding around throughout the delivery process. OK so two days are processing a return for the UPK90, I received the replacement. Finally I can listen to to my movies without that loud noise from the UP970. Or so I thought. The replacement player has the same issue or the door not opening. SMH.

Overpriced for what you get. This is a well made 4K BD player, wonderful picture, wonderful sound. Thats all. LG has chosen to lock down the OS so that the only services you can stream are Netflix and YouTube. There are no options to add any other apps. The device will not detect and allow streaming from other network connected devices including my dedicated media server (housing all of my pictures, music, and video). You can only stream from a USB device physically attached to the player. I suspect this is an LG tactic to force purchase of LGs smart TVs. Bottom line: Outstanding video and sound quality. Very fast. Stream Netflix and YouTube. Dont expect anything else other than a large pricetag. If you want full streaming from devices on your network, or stream any other services (Hulu, Prime, etc) go elsewhere.

very first time i tried I Cant get cd/dvd in to the machine. called help for help and had to wait while they read the owner manuals then was told to call Amazon. beginning to wish i never ordered

I bought this to replace a 10 year old Sony that finally bit the dust. There are a few negatives, and thus I am giving this a 4 star verse 5 star. * No Netflix Streaming, as others have reported. * There is no button for subtitles. You have to go through a menu each and every time as opposed to a single button to turn them on/off. * If you use a Harmony Universal Remote, you will need to relearn each and every key as the Logitech DB seems to have the all wrong. The good: * Excellent picture, excellent upscaling. * No freezing, hanging, black screen - at least not yet.
