I bought the Razer Blade 15.6” 1060-MaxQ 256GB 60Hz model. The build quality is phenomenal. It is very thin, and lightweight. Unfortunately the body is a fingerprint magnet, so a skin is needed if you do not want fingerprints all over. The charging brick is good quality, and has braided cable. The charging port is deep, and has potential to be snagged, bringing the laptop with it, so care is required if charging in a high traffic area. The speakers are good quality for the thin build. The screen is great. It has a small bezel, and the 720p webcam is located at the top of the screen, rather than at the hinge like most similar “bezel-less” laptops. It has a FHD 60Hz screen that looks great, and has excellent color. I do not have any backlight issues on my particular laptop. The keyboard is good quality with adjustable brightness, and can be individually RGB lit. The only issue is the odd key placement around the arrow keys: it shortens the right shift and slightly moves the “?/“ key. The touchpad can be set up to behave exactly like a MacBook’s trackpad, which I consider to have the best trackpad. The Razer Blade’s trackpad is just a step below it, but still very good. It takes some getting used to in order to stop accidentally hitting it with your palms. While gaming, the laptop can get very hot, and due to the aluminum body, can start to burn your lap, so definitely recommended to play games on a table or placemat. Personally, I got my computer to max out at 88C with undervolting -150 CPU, and -125 Cache, and limiting CPU speed to 36GHz. I am sure I could get it to run cooler with more tweaking. The fans are also quite loud, so if the noise bothers you a headset is necessary. The battery life is understandably small, due to the small laptop size. It lasts about 6 hours with internet use (playing videos, browsing sites). When playing a game (tested with Monster Hunter: World) it lasts about 2 hours. Overall I am very pleased with my laptop, but I have been fortunate enough to not have any issues. Pros: - Great build quality - Great specs - Lightweight, sturdy - Good speakers - Great tiny bezel screen with good camera placement - Good trackpad - Good RGB backlit keyboard with adjustable brightness Cons: - Runs hot - Charging cable isn’t easily detached (snags could drag your laptop with it) - keyboard key placement takes getting used to - Small battery life (compared to regular laptops) - Loud fans

First week with this product on a daily 5h gaming routine. All my games are running very good, making a great gaming experience, comparable to a PC’s. The only negative part is that it gets so hot, making you enable the cooler, which is very loud, but the laptop is still very hot. I advise you to buy this only if you like slim laptops.

Right from the start the laptop had a problem with the web camera (disconnected) and finally went dead. Right after that the power adapter died (which caused short in the entire house and being a fire hazard) . Amazon denied my exchange plea, because the 30 days policy was just over for a few days, here I was with a pretty much dead laptop, I would understand if it was some minor problem but not in a situation like this. Had to RMA at razer, theyve exchanged the web camera, what was also found that the screen panel was faulty and got exchanged too, then they forgot to repair the power adapter, had to RMA again and here I was with no computer again. When I got the laptop and started to finally use it daily I found out its heating up to 100C in games and is pretty much burning hot to the touch, again I contacted razer to rma the thing and they told me the unit as a whole should be replaced... guess what even with that amazon refused it. Now Im in the process of chargeback with my bank. All in all its a great and beautiful machine when it works, but if something goes wrong be ready to go through hell.

I was on the fence. MacBook Pro or this? I needed full Microsoft office support + Outlook, which sucked on Mac, but also need to do a lot of web design and digital marketing. Most of the latter is browser based, and I LOVE TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES so this was it for me. Sure, colleagues scoff as they are all Mac Pro owners, and I do LOVE Macbook Pros (I have iphone, iwatch, ipad, etc.) so it would have been great to have one, but the lack of ability to play all the top PC games out there pushed me to PC. I cant complain. Yes, the battery power kinda sucks and I do work remote, but the power cable is great (bulky sure but great) and I can also plug into my car with adapter (and most coffee shops have plenty of outlets) so Im not salty about it that much. Design, look, and feel is great. Of course, everyone knows its a gamer laptop so whatever - I can always bring my old Mac Air for show when meeting with clients. Im not a coder so it doesnt matter. Besides, Microsoft realizes it is losing to all the developers so they may catch up. Who knows? GREAT FOR GAMING, nuff said.

Upon arrival, I was very impressed with the packaging that the Razer Blade was shipped in. Manufacturers seem to be very conscious of all the un-boxing videos and seek to impress. Despite the fact that most of these boxes get thrown out hours if not minutes after the un-boxing. The form factor of the laptop was exactly as I had hoped. Very thin, fairly light, and small enough to easily carry around. The laptop setup after opening was similar to pretty much all Windows 10 laptops, except with the Razer there was no extra bloatware pre-installed. I found only the Razer Synapse app installed on the machine. The first thing that stood out to me immediately upon using the laptop was its track-pad. It was very comparable to my experience using the track-pad on a Mac Book Pro. The keyboard had a similar impression however it wasn’t the absolute best keyboard I have used on a laptop. That recognition actually goes to the MSI GS63 Stealth which used a keyboard developed by Steel Series. Next, the screen color and brightness were impressive, the 144 hertz panel was quite the experience when gaming. I am definitely satisfied with my choice of screens and wasn’t willing to sacrifice the battery life for the 4K model. I’m currently experiencing 7.5 hours of battery life (Battery Saver Mode) when browsing the web, writing, and watching YouTube. I’ve only run it through two games so far and I have to say it performed as expected. Having owned a laptop with an Intel i7 and Nvidia GTX 1060 already I wasn’t really surprised in this area. The cooling on the system appeared to be adequate peaking around 75-80 degrees Celsius for the CPU/GPU. The rear of the chassis was definitely hot to the touch but didn’t affect the keyboard or gaming experience. In Overwatch and Counterstrike:Go the laptop was able to maintain between 115-128 FPS taking advantage of the 144-hertz display. Based on this assessment the Laptop would be adequate for mid-level gamers who aren’t looking to re-create desktop level performance.

My model: GTX 1060, 1080@144Hz, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, Advanced (no Ethernet) The main appeal of the Blade, at least to me, is the aesthetics. The Blade 15 certainly delivers on that, with its beautiful aluminum chassis, RGB lighting, and slim design. This design does have some compromises though, which Ill talk about a bit later. In terms of usability, the Blade gets a 10. The keyboard isnt mechanical, but it feels nice to type on, except for a few minor quirks with the layout. The trackpad is large, but not so large that you constantly touch it while typing. The chassis is very solid and doesnt flex while typing, even if pressing down on it very hard. The 144Hz screen is a great addition, and I would highly recommend it over the 4K screen. Even if you only game at 60 FPS, the 144Hz screen makes a huge difference in desktop use, and 1080p is more than enough for productivity use. The colors on the screen are also exceptional, better than my desktop monitors VA panel, with no crushed blacks or noticeable ghosting. My two complaints about the build of the Blade are as follows. 1) The grill covering the fans on the bottom feels flimsy and about to break. Its too big for the side of the fan, so it bows out and can be pressed in like one of those freshness seals on a jar of salsa. Im pretty confident theyll break off at some point, which isnt a serious problem, just annoying. 2) The anodized aluminum finish is a SMUDGE MAGNET. Seriously, youll touch it once and see a smudge there for the rest of this computers life. I bought a Black Camo skin from dbrand (pictured) for the top of the Blade just to cover the smudges, and it has *greatly* improved the notebooks appearance; I would highly recommend this for anyone with the same problem. The battery life is about 6 to 8 hours under normal load (not gaming), and much less when gaming. Youll definitely need to bring your charger with you, but that charger is not exactly the lightest on the market. Its heavy, but not as heavy as the brick chargers of early laptops. I will say that the Blade runs very hot, even when not gaming, so you might feel some discomfort if using the Blade in your lap, but it doesnt run the fans until you start throwing some really demanding tasks at it. When you do, youll find that the fans are incredibly loud, as they are in most gaming notebooks, but the small form-factor of the Blade makes them more shrill than others. My suggestion to remedy this would be a cooling pad with a fan, or at least something to give the bottom of the notebook more airflow than sitting flat on a desk or on a lap. In terms of value, the Blade 15 isnt the best proposition out there, but its still cheaper than a MacBook, and packing far more performance to boot. Its worth the extra dough for anyone performance-minded or who wants an incredibly sleek laptop with a fantastic screen. A note about Linux: Ive been running a dual-boot with Windows 10 and Kubuntu 18.04 since I first got the Blade, and its still running great. I had a few issues with setting up wireless drivers, but I eventually got them to work. I would recommend using Wayland instead of Xorg where possible to avoid screen tearing.

Upon initial receipt the laptop arrived fine. I was excited for the new device. Though, at the same time, I was hoping, crossing my fingers, praying...that it would be one of the rare builds with no issues. Whelp I was not lucky enough. Just gaming the CPU hits consistently 100c and the GPU 85c. Mind you not just hitting those temps as package or core highs every once in while. It pegs a few seconds at a time. This dramatically disrupted its intended use for gaming. After about a week of reading all the pains of the RMA process, I requested replacement from Amazon. In short, the same issues. So instead of trying to find a Unicorn, I started a return with Amazon. Now, I have never had an issue with Amazon. Not for anything. Apparently though, high value returns, well...the process sours my view of customer value. I am 7 calls deep, with 3 emails stating the same thing about getting my refund. Still waiting. (will update if Amazon comes through or if I need to go an alternate route) Overall, one of the worst experiences I have had with a product and with Amazon.

it is surely the worst customer support Ive ever seen. The charging brick went wrong and I asked for an exchange. The process is unbelievably slow that I have not get my charging brick for over ONE MONTH and they are replying your email in maybe 3 days, too fxxking slow. Dell or asus would be far better than this.

Ive never had a Razer before, but this was quite a happy surprise. The specs of this computer are insane, especially when you consider the price. I dont game much, but for testing purposes I ran a few on max settings and had zero issues. People have stated that putting the computer in gaming mode DOES cause issues, so I just didnt put it in gaming mode. The qaulity is superb. I use this mostly for school and work and have not been let down. The charging cable is a bit large, but it also is not flimst like a lot of cables. Very happy with this
