Great Mechanical Keys but a Confusing Cable
The North Base Mechanical Keyboard is stunning when lit up. It features four or five vibrant lighting modes with rainbow effects that make it visually pop. I think it's perfect for streamers or anyone who wants a stylish keyboard on camera. Despite the Windows-labeled keys, it works well with my Mac, and I appreciate the tactile volume knob, which also acts as a handy mute button with a tap. That said, there are a few downsides. First, it’s incredibly loud and clicky — which some people might love, but it’s not ideal for shared workspaces or quiet environments. People will hear you typing on video calls as your computer mic will pick up the sounds. More frustrating, though, is the fact that the box labels it a “compact wireless keyboard,” which simply isn’t true. It’s fully wired, and oddly uses a USB-A connector. This is not great in 2025 when many devices are USB-C only. I had to use an adapter just to plug it in. Still, for the price, the typing experience is satisfying, the lighting is soothing, and it supports media and brightness controls. Just be aware of the misleading packaging and the noise level. Personally, I’d recommend looking for a true wireless option, especially if portability or desk aesthetics matter to you.

On the box, it says “wireless” keyboard. It should definitely be corrected. Except this, it’s a good value for the price.
Great colors, easy setup and use.
Great keyboard. Easy to setup. I customized it, then decided I liked the clear cutouts and color showing better. Swapped back to base. Easy to use. Great affordable option.

Very nice keyboard
North Base Computer Keyboard in a very beautiful light blue color is very nice. This keyboard is easy to set up and use. It’s comfortable to type with and doesn’t make a whole lot of sound when typing. I really like how solidly built it is. I would recommend!
Great light settings
This is a compact mechanical keyboard with very "clacky" keys. The LED lights are very bright and colorful, and there are a lot of light patterns that you can set (including turning them off). There is a brightness dial that also serves as volume control. It's a good beginning keyboard for someone who might not know if they like mechanical keyboards or not!
Cool keyboard
Cool and versatile keyboard option. Like the white color. Plugs in with a USB port. On the smaller side which is great to throw in a bag and go. The keys are raised and a bit louder than some other options but still love it.
High Quality, Compact, & Improves Efficiency
The North Compact Mechanical Keyboard has been a great addition to our computer! Our family is taking a Spanish course over the summer break. My kids have assignments they work on and I thought it would be easier with a keyboard. I wanted something smaller that wouldn’t take up too much space. The Compact Mechanical Keyboard was extremely easy to set up and even came with a ‘cheat sheet’ of key functions. The children love the key function options and the rainbow lit feature too. The kids have been excited to do their homework. They look forward to working on their computer. This Compact Keyboard has helped us save space and make school fun! My children and I love this. Also, after a month of three young children using the keyboard, it’s still in great shape.
Light Up Keyboard
I received this keyboard through the Hey, Bullseye program. It's great for people who predominately use laptops and want to use an external keyboard to give their wrists another way to engage. The keyboard lights up and works perfectly. I like to work in low light spaces so this keyboard is great for me.
Attractive portable keyboard
I like the appearance of this keyboard. The "dustcover" is especially nice as it prevents debris from falling between the keys; or sticky hands messing up the keys. It is lightweight and so ideal for traveling.
