If a little extra work and time is in your budget, this may work out for you. I got this printer in generic plain boxes, which is totally cool. The problem is that as soon as I turned it on it said that I must replace the "Maintenance Box". I chatted with tech support via my Amazon order (who were very helpful) and they walked me through a few steps of recalibration that did not work. I ended up having to purchase a new maintenance box that Amazon will refund me for. Update 6/5/19 - the printer is working and does actually do a great job. The problem is that it does not print a high quantity of pages without creating lines after the first few pages. I am also flabbergasted that I received this less than 2 weeks ago and I have already had to order replacement ink. Bring back the Epson Artisan! This one is bigger with more technology, but way way worse. I will update my review once I get the replacement part and actually use the printer, but so far this experience sucks. Thankfully its the weekend and my business wont be hugely impacted.

The only reason Im giving this printer 2 stars is because the prints it makes really are fantastic. But Id still much rather go to my local print shop and get my prints made up there. I bought this to start doing greeting cards at home. I sell at arts and crafts fairs on occasion and doing a short run of some greeting cards seemed much more cost effective than ordering 100 right off the bat and being stuck with the overage for years to come. A coworker raved about the Epson Artisan 1430 and this hopefully was going to be supported longer, being a new model. Well. Firstly, the thing is rather noisy. Not the printing itself, the whole printer. It rattles and shakes and creaks. I just turned it on a moment ago to print something and it spent a minute making an awful grinding sound. I started wedging scrap paper in the rear paper feed because walking past the printer made it rattle. Next problem is the ink usage. I had some comics I wanted to print at home. Not a ton of pages, 8 11x17s, double-sided, per comic. I wanted to make up 10 copies. Thats 80 pages, but with black and white LINE ART I had to replace ALL the ink cartridges TWICE. Thats with the "XL" cartridges. Yes, with black and white line art and the black and white settings the printer still gobbles up the ink. Then theres the paper feed. I basically have to babysit this printer constantly. If I attempt to print 10 copies of something it might get through 2 pages before the rear paper feed fails to grab the next piece of paper and it stops printing. Maybe with regular copy paper its fine and I havent tried with the bottom tray, but I bought this to do large and odd sizes and make quality art prints and I have to spend sometimes half an hour trying to figure out why the paper wont feed. Tech support just gave me all the same generic tips the printer help gave me. One last thing... Originally I thought it was silly people complaining about the lack of a touchscreen. Im on their side now! The buttons feel cheap, for one. But also, navigating all the menus is quite tedious. All in all, the prints are fantastic, but not great if you think youll save money by making art prints at home. Ive only had this half a year or so but I may end up dumping it.

As the title states, I would give this printer a higher rating if a few items that would be easy fixes were addressed. First, the set up was a bit more involved and labor intensive than it should be. I understand that packaging is important, but there must be 20 pieces of tape holding the machine in place for shipping and finding them all is a bit exhaustive. The real problem with the setup is that the setup instructions are very sketchy and a bit confusing. I finally got it figured out after a few mis-steps and backups. Some of the pluses are that for a 13" printer it has a very small footprint and is fairly light (not sure if that is a plus or not). After about an hour of setup and prep work, I printed out three images. One was B&W and was a bit contrasty, but I had read that one might have to tweak the setting to obtain a good black and white print. The other two prints were printed in color with a Mac through Photoshop and they both came out with good color and detail, only lacking a bit in the area of matching the image on the Mac in brightness and contrast, but the image of a person had good skin tones and matched the colors very closely. Since these were the very first 3 prints that I tried without much effort or adjustments I would give the quality very high grades. Using only 6 color inks and costing less than $300 the images were of very high quality, and I would say that this is a good buy with very good results. It would be even better with a little more support and setup information. What ever happened to a good old manual that actually helped guide one through setup and actually answered any questions you might have. And of course I cannot address reliability or running costs yet, so I will leave that open for now. An update to my posting....I have adjusted my rating to 3 stars because of the horrible manual / setup guide and the very poor informational website that Epson has. A company of this size and experience should have a much better customer assistance program. Very poor product support. Maybe they should have someone do some in depth You Tube videos to assist people with getting their products up and running smoothly.

The first photo prints I made had vertical banding in them. I ran the print head adjustment utilities several times with the same results. I finally talked to Epson, to a nice lady who I could barely understand, and she ran me through the same things I had already done. Long story short - I am returning the printer. Ive had a lot of printers over the years - Ive been a Photoshop user for a long time. Ive had several Canons and others, but never an Epson. So I decided to try one. Guess Ill go back to Canon.

As a designer, I get paid to impress people with images. I bought this printer for my work, expecting it to be similar to the older Epsons - but the quality is so very amazing, I decided to wallpaper my design studio with images (image attached). The ink isnt cheap, but the quality of each print is so very good, that I can actually use it to sell my own art prints! 10/10

First let me state that I love Amazon and I order everything here including food from Whole Foods and they rarely disappoint. But this one really disappointed and unfortunately cost me money so... The printer wasnt placed n a box and was left on my front porch. It could have been taken since you could see what it was. Luckily I was about to leave for work and saw it. The description stated it was a large format printer because it will print up to 19 inches in length. But it isnt since it only will print 8.5 inches wide. That isnt very useful. I ordered it at my busiest time because I needed it. I had to outsource the job, costing me money. It was such a hassle to return (no box), I ran out of time to return it. So now Im stuck with with this useless printer. Next time Ill just go to Best Buy for this type of electronics so I can return it immediately if its not what I think it is.

I bought this hoping to use it to print graphics for some of my art projects. I ran a series of graphic prints that are composed primarily of solid color lines and fills, and text. I had a set of prints run previously on an old Epson SureColor printer and the difference in quality was quite dramatic. The color on the XP-15000 is pretty good. Vivid. But the crispness of text and solids is bad. Too fuzzy for me to use for finished art pieces. Ill have to go up in price substantially to meet my needs. If you just need a proofing printer or a decent (NOT pro-quality_ photo printer, this machine is fine, but you can get that performance from a cheaper product to be sure. I think Epsons attempt to provide a step-up (middle-or-the-road) option is a failure.

The ink is controlled. There are still ink in the cartridges and it wont let you print forcing you to buy new cartridges. The printers software is something out of the 90s. Its clunky and it just straight up sucks. Im so dissapointed spending 350 on this printer. When it does work (once in a lifetime) it prints well. But the stress and headache getting it setup to your network and computer is horrible and frustrating. Do not recommend

This is, hands down, the worst printer Ive ever owned. I regret not having done more research before buying. Here are my complaints: - It guzzles ink. Prepare for ink to run out after just a few small print runs. - Ink cartridges are not always readily available to purchase. I couldnt buy XL inks in three colors ANYWHERE--not through Epson or any of the authorized resellers. - The printer jams easily - The printer gives errors for almost every single print run Ive done - The printer software seems to have wreaked havoc on Photoshop. Ive had series of files go corrupt and crash every time I try to use the Printer dialogue box. - The printer is just not intuitive to use. Im contrasting this with my Epson 7510 Workforce, which has been a dream, and for years. NEVER buy this printer, never consider it, run the other way.
