I hate the trays. The are completely discordant with one another, Tray 1 needs to be fully removed, which usually dislocates Tray 2, forcing you to close display, which needs to be closed if you try to adjust Tray 2. Tray 2 only uses 4x6, 5x7 paper, which during print testing, wont let you test, because maybe you dont care about 5x7 testing, just letter. Must have Tray 2 paper loaded to test letter. 5x7 Tray 2 wont release once youve closed it, and Tray one, because you must shut down command/power lever first. doesnt release afterwords. These trays, as evidenced by Epson XP-860 are simply poor design, your printer will shuffle them about as if it had arthritis, and soon after stop working.

When this printer is working all is well. One thing to lookout for, this is not an all in one printer as it has no Fax capability. Envelope printing can be a real hassle. I must say the scanning capability is quite good, maybe the best Ive seen in this price range. This XP-7100 replaces my XP=830 that recently died of the dreaded Epson "Recovery Error". There are many stories on the internet of Epson Printers succumbing to this error with no recovery possible. Oh! You ask "Why the heck would I buy another crappy Epson?" Cause I own about $300.00 worth of Epson 410XL ink my XP-830 used and darned if the $100.00 XP-7100 doesnt use the same ink.

I had a workforce that was a great all in one, they stopped making it for what I must say is very bad all in one. Everything about it is bad, cant load much paper, trying to use the CD camber is rediculous. If you have a child you want a all in on for this is it but not for home office.

I use this for general home printing such as school work and photographs. Setting it up was straightforward on multiple PCs running Windows 10. The printer is much more quieter than my old printer. Print quality is excellent and speed is good. I like that the printer is small so that I was able to install it in a cabinet. While build quality is decent the electrical cable that connects the printer to the wall outlet is somewhat loose and the printer can get unplugged easily. Ink can be pricey but there are deals to be had. Overall, I am happy with the speed and print quality and so will recommend the printer.

I replaced an Epson XP-830 with this machine because this was the newest model and would use the same ink cartridges. It prints well and scans well. Unlike my previous machine, it does not have fax capability. It does, like its predecessor, print on CD/DVDs and has a back feed slot for heavier media, like card stock or envelopes, though only one at a time. I have not printed photos yet. I am able to reuse the partly used cartridges from my previous machine. However, in setting up the machine for the first time, you are advised by Epson to use the cartridges in the box first because theyre designed for a first priming of the ink system. It recognized the used cartridges and the amount left when the initial ones ran out. I highly recommend buying the 410XL cartridges instead of the standard 410s; they cost a bit more, but you get more than twice the ink for a bit less than twice the price. The mixed box set contains an XL black cartridge but only standard color cartridges. The XL colors have to be bought individually, but theyre worth it. There are third-party inks out there that cost much less than brand name, and you use them at your own risk. Many people say theyre just as good and that the Epson inks are a ripoff; Ill only say that I have tried third-party inks and have definitely had problems more than once. My two criticisms of the machine: one, the main paper tray is low-capacity, extremely flimsy, and sometimes difficult to remove; if you want high-capacity printing, this printer is probably not for you. Second, the display icons are irritating, and the system will not stay in home display mode after printing, you have to hit a cancel button. Still, I will not hesitate to buy this printer again so long as it lasts out its warranty period and a little more. Ive been far happier with Epson photo printers than HP, Canon, or Brother. I would also check the paper specs carefully. I wanted to do some printing on 3X5 sheets, but paper will not feed properly on any size less than 3.5" width. Not their fault that I didnt notice.

the software install was very easy but took a very long time compared to my earlier Epson printers. pros - only two 1. great looking documents 2. small footprint cons 1. very small paper tray, need to refill it often 2. motorizing the printer seems stupid and clumsy, it takes a long time for the printer to wake up and then wait for the tray to crawl out and the printing to begin. closing the tray is just as awkward, press the menu button for the tray to close, same thing with the LCD screen, the old manual method for opening the screen and output tray was so much quicker and simpler.

Print quality is terrible. Even after completing the print head alignment per instructions printed photos have conspicuous vertical streaks in them. Result so bad no one would want to display the printed photograph, including myself. Returning for refund.

I needed a small, compact, cost effective photo quality printer for small home projects and printing out photos. After ample research, I settled on Epson because of good peer reviews and my friend has a similar model that works well. The box arrived quickly and undamaged. It includes basic ink cartridges for test prints and a few extra prints from there so be sure to purchase extra ink! I mainly use this as my occasional color printer (I have a B&W laser printer for regular printing) and my photograph printer. Pros: Easy instructions to follow for setting up Easy instructions for wireless setup Excellent quality photographs Fairly quick printing Has multiple cassettes for different types/sizes of paper Cons: The main cassette no longer feeds paper. The rollers that draw the paper dont work. I have no idea whats going on with it. This was after maybe 1 week post-installation and I printed maybe 10 photographs from that cassette. Now I have to use the 2nd cassette. Wifi connection is a bit spotty, even though everything thats connected with my router is fine. But all I do is restart the printer and restart my modem/router and itll connect. Color prints come out a little less bright and intensely colored than what you see on your computer screen. Make sure you adjust your settings on your computer or whatever device from which youre printing to reflect true color, not enhanced color. Overall: easy to set up (especially for a tech dummy like myself), great quality photos. Just really bummed that the hardware for cassette 1 (the main paper feed) is kaput. Had to dock 2 stars for that. Hopefully its just a fluke.

The first XP-7100 had to be returned because of hardware problems. Bought it from Amazon but when I had the problem setting it up and it wouldnt get past the scanner set up, the instruction booklet said to get in touch with Epson. The Epson techies almost immediately decided it was a hardware problem and had me ship it back to Epson and at the same time had one shipped to me. Fortunately I had two other printers to take care of the printing needs. The replacement Epson does a nice shop of printing. I will try out the other features as soon as possible. Epson has a good reputation for printing photographs and printing on CDs/DVDs and look forward to that.

I’ve always like Epson products because of there customers service. I think the description of this item is misleading. They call it “small in one”. I have previously purchased 5 “all in one “ printers. I expected the same capabilities as the 5 in 1. This machine does not have fax capability. The software that comes with it does not have scanning software. I believe it can scan, it just takes additional searching for the software and figuring out how to use it. I had it several months and have not devoted enough time to figure out how to scan. It requires additional software you need to seek out and figure out how to make it work.I pulled my old machine out of the scrap pile and scan with it.
