The printer is performing exactly as described by seller. I can print on cardstock. I can print front and back. I can load a lot of paper into the tray. I have had it 2 weeks and thus far it is performing well. The only thing I dont like is that the display screen is a bit more complex than the Canon iP7200 I had previously. Im having some problems getting used to it.

According to the Epson product support people you have to physically set the paper size on the printer control panel if you want to print an envelope which is ridiculous. Then to do any thing on standard paper you have to reverse the physical setting on the printer. Earlier versions of this series of printers automatically recognized from the printing software what paper to find in the paper tray. For some reason Epson lost the common sense recipe for this feature.

Its remarkable to me that Epson ever released the printer. Ive owned many many Epson products over the years and this was so beyond bad and misrepresented that they should scrap it. Heres a short list of the issues: 1) It would not connect continuously to the computer no matter what I did. By itself, I connected it to the internet and I was able to download the upgraded firmware but post-that it would not connect to any computer in our house via the epson software. I had to manually add it through Airprint in Mac settings. After doing this however, every time after printing it would then say printer not-found. So Id have to reset it again. 2) The paper feeder had to be reset nearly every print. It kept saying it was out of paper even-though it was full. I tried two types of paper thinking that might be the issue - but it made no difference. 3) The print quality was sub-par. Mediocre at best - no comparison to a laser for docs and no comparison to a photo printer for pictures. The print speed on b/w text was normal but for photos it was quite slow. And the buffering que took forever before itd start printing. Tested with Mac Pages, Microsoft Word and Photoshop. 4) The claim that its enough ink for two years is absurd. After just printing 10 pages I noticed that ink canisters significantly lower than when first installed. And yes this was after baselining it from the ink settling in the system. I imagine that maybe with all the included ink youd get 3-4 months at best if you were printing semi-regularly. 5) The build-quality was like a cheap plastic toy. Not sturdy, flimsy plastic, whole printer vibrated dramatically as a result when printing. Returned and go a traditional laser. Will think twice about getting an Epson in the future if their business model is to release cheap crap like this from now on.

I bought this two month ago, and got around to installing this week. 1st: The Rate Features, asks about a Touch Screen. This printer does not have a touch screen. It looks like it does, but we navigate the screen pushing the arrow keys until our selection is highlighted, then press the OK key. 2nd: The paper tray: The paper tray has sliders on the side, that keep the paper centered, but lacks sliders on the back, that holds the paper against the rollers. I printed the test page during installation and everything worked. But the printer noticeably shakes and wobbles during printing. During the e-mail-print setup, my paper (in the paper tray) had shaken loose, and the printer said I was out of paper. I opened the tray, and sure enough, the entire stack of paper (in the tray) had moved away from the rollers half-an-inch. I pushed the paper firmly to the back (printer side) of the tray, then I closed the tray, and continued the install. Wrong! Printer said I was still out of paper still, and when I opened the tray again, sure enough, the paper had shifted a ½" away from the roller. I fanned the paper, I put the paper back in, inserted the tray, and immediately removed it. Yes, the paper was pushed backwards, by the action of pushing the tray into the printer. Fix: push the tray in, with the front flap open. Reach in with your fingers, and push the paper against the rollers (it feels like the paper goes inward ~ 2"). Then try printing. Manufacturing flaw, it seems. If every time I print, I have to open the tray door, and reach in to push the paper back to the rollers.

This printer is so fast compared to my Canon. Glad I spent the extra bucks for the paper tray!! Fairly easy set- up - some confusing parts with the LED panel that we finally figured out (alignment of print heads). LED a tad small but OK. Gave one star deduction since cant figure out have to print with less black ink/draft settings not working. Keyboard with LED a tad confusing...not very intuitive = will take some time to figure it all out but too busy to do so. LOVE seeing the ink levels. LOVE the Eco of this!! Way to go Epson! (I own 4 other Epson photo printers...this is my office/invoicing printer) I have not tested it for small photo printing yet..

I purchased this in hopes of greater reliability than the HP weve been using along with longer time between having to buy ink. Though smaller, this printer has a higher price point than the HP all in one. However, I hope that lower ink costs will help make up for the up front cost differential. Unlike other reviews, I found the set up relatively easy, though it does take 10 minutes for the printer to prime itself once you fill it with ink. I have a Mac and had no problem whatsoever setting up the printer for wireless operation. It was fussy about uptaking paper at first but once it got going, we havent had problems since. My main complaint is how slow this printer is. I print scripts quite often. This entails two-sided plain old black and white text printing. The printer takes almost 30-40 seconds per two sided page. It will not allow a draft setting for two sided printing so this is at the "normal" print quality setting on plain paper. I still have our HP Printer and set them both printing at the same time to get a large number of scripts done. The HP cranked them out at 3x-4x the speed. Both printers jammed at one point. The HP just needed to have the output tray cleared and resumed printing. This printer gave an error message asking to be turned off and then deleted the print job which I had to re-input. Years ago, I had a little Epson laser printer that was work horse. It lasted so long that it stopped being supported with print drivers and eventually I just went to inkjet for convenience. It was based on that experience that I chose Epson this time around. So far, Im just not wowed.

Likes: Is quiet Its fast, no printer head with cartridge head gong back and forth for a minute before it starts printing. Ink tanks will last me a long, long time before needing re-filling. Cons. No Fax No document feeder Printing isnt as bright and crisp enough for photos.

UPDATED to 4 stars because the ink savings is insanely good after using a month now! With my business I go through tons of ink and Im tired of spending on refills so after tons of research I took a chance on this one. Upside.. 1.the ink really has lasted me a long time and overall I can definitely see that we will save money which was the main reason for this purchase. Downside that you have to deal with to save money... 1. When you change your paper type on the computer you have to then change it again on the printer. This is just dumb and Ive never in my last 12-13 printers had to do this. Luckily mine is right next to my chair and I roll my eyes and hit the 2 buttons and move on. Remembering Im saving money on ink. 2. It spits out too much ink for clear labels and smears (again never an issue with any ink jets until this one) so Ive had to call customer service for a work around and now have to set to regular paper. Downside is they arent quite as dark and professional as we are used to. We remember we are saving ink. 3. The paper tray is annoying in its placement. Ive always had a bottom feed so didnt think Id mind this one but the way its set up is not efficient and i dread changing my paper which I do often. But I again remember Im saving a lot on ink.

I have spent a lot more on printers over the years for professional looking documents with many of the more expensive ones not doing as good of a job as this one. I use it professionally. No, its not top of the line for certain types of printing but the difference is negligible to the average observer of the material. It gets five stars for production at this price point comparing to other printers Ive owned that cost around the same price or more. I run a lot of prints with at least half being color and this is very economical to run per page of print for a printer of this size and cost. It serves every need of scanning, and printing that I currently have. I am glad I bought it. Its easy to operate and learn the controls as well.

I needed a reliable, color printer which could fit under a shelf, with a front load paper option and my Epson ET-3700 Color All-in-1 printer fits the bill. It loads and prints paper from the from, very convenient for me in my limited shelf space. A lot of people think this printer is too pricey, but it supplies most home users (not business) with enough ink to refill all the ink containers twice or about a years supply. Clearly this is superior to the old ink cartridges. Refilling containers is easy and not messy as I often found with old cartridges. In fact, the refill system has a dispensing system which will not allow ink to flow until the bottle is in place correctly and automatically stops when the container is filled. So, considering the cost of printing ink, I think this printer is a better bargain than most comparable printers. It does a beautiful job with printing and scanning (Dont know about FAX since I dont use that function).
