I was most impressed with how easy it was to set up the wireless printing (both from my computer and from my phone). Also, the print quality is excellent. Although I have not yet used this printer very much, my suspicion is that the printing cost per page will be very high.

Gift for grandson in college. Exactly what he needed with a small footprint on his desk! Easy for him to download setup on his Mac.

Nothing to not like. It was delivered today, I picked it up at the Post Office, brought it home and put it together, performed the Set up via WiFi and am able to print once more. Replaced a older PIXMA Printer. Unfortunately, while on the Phone getting technical help in Setting up the Printer, the Technician discovered a flaw in the Printer, and has offered to replace the Printer while its still within the Warranty period. Just as I was starting to learn about it 13 February 2019 Received a message from Canon stating the replacement Printer is now on a backorder, so Im now having to be further inconvenienced. Yesterday, 28 March 2019, I had lots of issues in getting the Printer to function normally, it took forever to Print anything, so I eventually contacted Canon, and the Technician ran me thru a few test, to cut to the chase, he eventually told me to connect the Printer directly to the Computer via the use of a USB Cable, after doing that, the Printer has worked very well. The lesson learned is, try not to have this Printer connected via WiFi if your WiFi speed is very slow, it causes lots of heartburns. One other very important thing to note is, this Printer does not have a lighted LCD, the window is dark, youll need lots if light, or a flashlight.

I have a home business and bought this printer. Difficult to put together. Worst print quality I have ever had. Had to go out the same day and bought an Epson.

I havent fully used this yet, I havent tested the Fax and Scanning fully, but its a nice printer. Color for cheat sheets is good and sharp, for instance. There is a little setup, two drivers for Linux to install, and you want to manage your firewall in Linux with it, and your local IP with your router, but it works flawlessly once you figure those out, very lovely product. My beloved (other brand) 15 year old laser printer stopped feeding sheets (Im trying to fix it) so I had to get something, and figured color might be useful. Ink Jet printers are expensive with ink, but the refill I am using works well with initial tries. Works great with phone wirelessly, and Linux and Windows boxes (havent tried Mac), and works with my laptop just as well as my desktop (both Linux) wirelessly. You have to figure out and connect using the settings (the settings are a little difficult to figure out on the printer itself) to establish what assigned local IP is assigned and then install the printer and scanner drivers and open your firewall, and badda boom, its good to go!. (linux is more explicit and controllable than Windows and as such, an ounce of setup is worth a ton of cure). Ive only used this on Debian based versions so far, FWIW. It doesnt seem to use much power if left on, which is great, too.

The printer works just fine and makes nice, clear copies but after printing abot 20 sheets, it was time to order 2 new ink cartridges at $ 50 for the pair. I can print in Normal and Best mode but not Draft for some reason. I feel gouged for the cost of the ink when I estimate its less than $2 worth of product. 3rd party ink cartridges make me nervous. Its no wonder the printer was dirt cheap, they know Ill spend $ 500.00 on ink this year!

I think the real reason the wi-fi connection to my printer didnt work is because Im on a public network (Xfinity Wi-Fi Hotspot) I called technical assistane and they took over my computer and started doing tings and told me I needed to buy a network security package for $149 and a PC-Tune Up program for $39 dollars and then the wifi would work. Well I already have a serious fire wall, network security suite and a pc tune up program. I finally got angry, threw out the setup manual, and connected it via USB. I did have a problem getting the scanner function to work but I found the right driver online and everything works now. My plan now is to connect my laptop to my LAN and have it be the host for other computers in the home and other devices like this stupid printer. Ill give it a shot anyway. If it doesnt work Ill return the router and just keep using the printer via USB.

Spend the extra 50 bucks and get anything but this printer. The menu stinks and is unreadable bc there is no light. And everything jams in it, plain paper, labels, everything.

It took only about 50 pages of printing in draft mode to empty the original ink cartridges. Hope the aftermarket cartridges will last longer. But they are only about 30% cheaper. Overall print quality is ok. Its a real noise maker/shaker if not set up in the quiet mode. But then its very slow. The installation was quite cumbersome. I used the online Canon set-up tool, that wouldnt connect the printer to the home network. Normally Im quite good with computers. After a few tries I used the built-in WPS function (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) that connected the printer to the router. The online set up tool should at least notify the user about downloading the applicable Canon drivers or the printer wouldnt work. The printer ancient LCD screen is not user friendly nad not readable without using a flashlight. I used to have Canon MX822 that worked perfectly for more than 10 years using cheap individual ink tanks. It amazes me how Canon printers got so bad in the past 5-6 years. My plan is to use my TR4520 for a year or so and then put on Craigslist for a few bucks and buy a good Brother printer with individual ink cartridges. Sorry - no more Canon printers for me in the future.
