So not pleased that I spent my non-profit organizations money on a printer that was shipped with cartridges in the machine that were supposed to be good for hundreds of pages of color print, and the cyan cartridge included with the machine was defective. So, I went to the Canon website to find out WHY the blinking thing was printing every page with a deep blue cyan background, and they charge you for every service request, even for a brand new printer. Seriously unimpressed at this point. Im not going to spend $18 to request a cartridge. Luckily, I bought after-market print cartridges along with the printer, and THAT cyan cartridge works like a dream. Canon - REALLY not happy with you people right now, and cannot recommend this printer to anyone.

Simple printer that produces beautiful colors and crisp blacks. Bought this because the inkjet I purchased (one of the new ones with large tanks of ink) printed terrible documents. Seems like the inkjet technology has regressed. This is the first laser-jet that I have ever purchased and I cannot be happier. As a plus the printer is not too big. The picture is of my printer on top of a regular sized filing cabinet. There is a bit of noise when it first sets up, but that is normal. After that, it is pretty quiet and really fast. I want to make a note to MAC users: The printer is automatically set to print dual sided. In order to change that you have to take an extra step to create a print profile to make single side the standard. I called Canon and got customer service to teach me how to do this (customer service is actually really great). You have to go into Safari, make sure a website is displaying (like google.com), select file from the top menu, then print, make sure one sided printing is off, then from the presets menu select "save current settings as preset", then name it....I named it "Default Setting One Sided", then click OK. Now when you open a program like Word, you have to use that preset in the printing menu to print one sided documents.

The color is much better than the two HP laser printers I dealt with this year. I’m really happy with the color printing from this printer. The HPs were consistently too dark and lost distinction between similar colors. I’m disappointed with the speed of this one over wi-fi but that seems to be a common problem printing over wi-fi with any printer I’ve tried. I almost gave it a 3 because of the speed, but it’s an inconvenience. The color quality is really good so 4 stars.

Best laser printer on market, for best laser printing of text and photos (color or monochrome), great full-duplex (both sides) printing, best value price, best wired and wireless usage features, great Apple airprint feature that works from iPhone, iPad, etc. This printer has a single sheet feed slot above paper tray for using a special paper without putting it in paper tray. Even legal-sized paper is supported. Because this printer was designed for a medium office or residential use, it is not very heavy (35 pounds) and not very tall or large in size. Paper tray holds about 150 sheets.

Im satisfied with it, and the printing is fine, but setting up for wifi was a pain in the a$$. Also the manual just sucks. It is an online manual that will have you clicking all over the place to find out what this little extra plastic piece is that doesnt seem to go anywhere. (Its a dust cover for when you print legal paper. It covers the extra couple of inches that your paper drawer has to stick out. But when youre not printing on legal paper, you have this piece of plastic that... I dont know... maybe stick it in a drawer somewhere. Aside from that, it works just fine. If the wifi install werent so cumbersome and the manual wasnt so idiotic, I would give it 5 stars.

I used laser printer paper, but still had issues with this printer. While its a good printer for some reason the gradation is terrible. You can see blotches of color where it should have faded. Primarily I had issues with the pink/purple. I was on tech support (phone) for about 2 hours and we had no luck with adjustments. They offered to replace with a refurbished product, but that doesnt make sense to me. My largest issue as well was that the purple had a blot of darkness in the middle. We tried to adjust the density, contrast, brightness, but nothing would make that dark patch disappear.

Great quality. NOTE: we have yet to replace ink cartriges even though it says they empty. Weve printed over a thousand since the machine started saying "Cant guarantee print quality" All 3 colors show empty. . .

This isnt a review as such (not much detail to be found here). Its really just a declaration of "this is a good day" for finally giving up on paying $20+ per page in lost/evaporated ink to print on any and all of the assorted inkjet printers Ive owned over the years. Anyone who only prints a page or two a week will know exactly what Im talking about with that (conservative) $20 per page number since it was costing me $100 every time I had to buy ink for my current inkjet and I had to buy a complete set of cartridges every other time I wanted to print a page. AND, every time I wanted to print a page the printer needed 5 minutes or so to "unclog the nozzles" and get ready before it would begin to print. And then, once it finally printed it would happily inform me that all of the new ink cartridges I had installed (but never used) are now empty because all of the ink has evaporated. This machine needs only a few seconds to print in full, lifelike color and there is no alcohol based ink to evaporate. Heck yes this is a good day!

You do not need a computer to set up the wireless printer. I was unable to find this answer via websearch. I started set up and figured I would start with my phone first. As long as you know your wifi router password you can set it up with your tablet or phone. I set up via my samsung s8+ phone. I was also able to print a photo directly from my gallery without downloading additional apps. Not sure if its the phone that is set up that way or if its Android feature. Prints really fast. Printed a piture on plain paper just to see the quality and it was not bad. If you want high quality definition for photos this will probably not be the printer for you. But overall it is a great printer.
