This printer jammed every time I printed duplex. I returned the printer after two weeks because of this issue (traced back to a paper feeder that did not roll on one side). Brother sent me a refurbished printer to replace my two week old brand new printer. The refurbished printer had dirty ink heads and also exhibited issues printing duplex. I read a lot of reviews and wanted to like this company. Two bad printers and slow customer service has left me with no choice but to buy a printer from some other company.

Exceptionally excellent Brother printer. Highest recommendation. Unpacks with all the parts. Assemblies very fast with fresh ink cartridges ready to install following the "quick setup" sheet. Powers up with an easy to view and tilt user screen. I used wireless (No USB cable) setup and every step was effortless. Installation cd brought all the steps to my IMac screen and can be followed quickly, no hiccups are failed issues. Print speed in color is surprisingly fast, with excellent letter quality. Includes access to the Apple App for scanner image to Mac or to file, to email etc. Highly recommended! From experience with other Brother printers I know they also fast "human to user" tech support if needed.

the first time it jammed the instructions were to push two tabs on the inside near the paper tray. Two green tabs, small thin, one of them immediately broke off and now everything jams!

UPDATE: Several months with the printer and I love it just as much, if not more. I can scan and print from my phone, laptop, or ipad. I can easily check ink levels from phone, at any time. I use it quite often, as I work from home, and this device is PERFECT! Worth every penny! I received this product this week. The instructions were as simple as they could be and so was the set up. From the time it reached my door to set up was less than 30 minutes and I was printing and scanning from my laptop, my iPad, and my iPhone. The printed pages are clear and crisp and the colors are bright. It connected with my Wifi quickly and easily. I even downloaded the app to my phone which allows me to check my ink supply. So far, VERY HAPPY with this purchase.

I love that the ink is affordable but can you guys fit the slow printing??? it shouldnt take this long......

Just opened printer, prints one page and then shows an error message that says "unable to initialize E3"..also wont connect to Wifi. Called Brother customer service and was on hold forever. After trouble shooting with them over the phone error still occurring. They are going to send me a new one but cant even give a rough estimate when it will arrive.

I bought this in March 2016. It quit printing in January 2017. I went thru all of Brothers help and cleaning instructions, both on the setting menu and via email support. After a while their solutions became circular and I stopped communicating with them. This is the first Brother printer Ive ever had a major issue with and have already bought another Brother, although a different model. There is no such thing as a perfect manufacturing record anywhere and Im giving Brother one more chance. Hopefully, I wont have any more issues with them as I really don"t want to switch brands. If the next one has problems, Ill post on that page and then look to other manufacturers.

Bought on Amazon prime day, so reasonable price. Ive had Epsom printers in the past and loved them. But Read reviews and heard + things about the Brother printers, so thought Id give one a try. Unfortunately, I want my Epsom back. Good: 1) Light and compact printer Bad: 1) Print Quality is blurred and unclear 2) Brother printer is very cheaply made (drawer feels like it will break quickly). 3) From the moment it began printing, and each time since, the rollers of the printer cartridge squeak loudly (heard in the other room) whenever something prints. I am praying it will not break as it is only about a month old. 4) Intermittently disconnects from bluetooth connection 5) Jams all the time! 6) Does not have capacity to scan both sides of a document Had problems but had been 31 days since my purchase, so I could not return to Amazon. I called Brother Customer support and had them help me with the disconnecting issue. Other issues continued, so I called again today (39 days after purchase) and told that Brother would not accept a return since I purchased from Amazon. I was stuck with a horrible printer that I can not use. I contacted AMAZON CUSTOMER SUPPORT via live chat and, despite being past their return policy date, AMAZON STEPPED UP! They listened to the issue and allowed the return of the defective printer. I WILL CONTINUE TO BE A LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR AMAZON because of their EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Works well, prints fast and (so far) jam-free. I use it mainly for text documents, copying and scanning; have not tried photo-quality printing yet. Main drawback is that the Brother cartridges are expensive and this printer does not appear to accept the aftermarket cartridges I bought (LxTek). There is a work-around for this, which involves removing the chip from the depleted Brother cartridge and putting it on the aftermarket cartridge. See YouTube video for how to do this. That allows printing but the built-in ink measurement function no longer works and you get frequent "low on ink" warnings.

If you want a good printer that is relatively easy to use (installation could be easier), this printer is for you. If you want a scanner, dont buy it. The scanner did not install with the printer. I had to get the drivers from the website because I couldnt figure out where they were on the CD. The CD menu assumes everything will install perfectly and all at the same time, which it did not, so individual items are not identified on the CD menu. From the computer you have to go through the Control Center to scan. Most of us just want to push the Scan button, not click half a dozen buttons to get to scan every time we use the scanner. And after you scan, the Control Center is in front of the scanner window, so you have to move it out of the way. The defaults are different on the scanner than they are on the computer, so when I made the mistake of scanning from the scanner, I ended up with a .pdf in the wrong directory instead of my default .jpg where I wanted it. I have to admit, when I have emailed the help desk, they have asked me to call them, and they will walk me through my issues. My problem is why do I need the help desk? Why arent there two buttons: 1) simple no frills scanning, push the button and scan; and 2) over-blotted software that is not used by anyone but experts? If you do not know it, the difference between complex and complicated is that complicated is needlessly complex. The scanner function is complicated.
