Would love to give 5 stars, but the labels will cost you. No generic for this that I know of. This thing looks pretty sweet next to its little brother, the Brother QL-700. I have yet to find a single review of this printer, anywhere. I suppose Ill be first. It prints sharp and extremely legible compared to the Rollo I am returning. I bought the Rollo so that I could use free UPS accordion style labels but it would always print from Shippo and Xpsship poorly and illegibly. I tried contacting customer service 3 times to no avail. I personally think they just need to improve their driver and itll work nicely after that. Alas, it was a no go for me. Enter the Brother QL-1100. The thing just works. No muss, no fuss. No need to call customer support. Printing 4x6 labels that I have no doubt will get my packages to their destinations. With the Rollo I was so paranoid. No longer. I have a few Brother products in the house and they all work perfectly. If youre choosing between this, the Rollo or the Dymo 4XL, Id just go ahead and go with the QL-1100 or the network model.

We love this label printer! It is working great for printing 4x6 shipping labels directly from Etsy, and it works great with the Generic Shipping Labels (listed as Compatible w/ Brother DK-1241 101mm x 152mm(4" x 6")) by BETCKEY.

Ive been using a Dymo 4XL for about a year now, and it is the worst. I was so unhappy with it that I literally threw it on the floor. It survived that, unfortunately, but recently its been spitting out 3-4 blank labels for every one that I print, so I decided its time for an upgrade. This Brother printer is so amazing in comparison. Its just WAY WAY WAY WAY better. Moral of the story- dont buy a POS Dymo. Buy this and trust me that its a far better investment in your mental health/stress levels/general quality of life.

The QL1100 is advertised as working with Linux. I use a Linux Mint 18.3 Ubuntu derivative system and could not get this printer to work. I tried 3 different methods for the driver install: 1) Brothers recommended method, several attempts failed with files missing errors; 2) Linux Mints gdebi method, same failure results; 3) manual installation of all files. The manual method revealed most of the issues. I created all of the directories and transferred the files manually without any scripts, put every file in place per the listings included in the ql1100pdrv-2.1.4-0.i386.deb file and still was unable to make this unit print. The syslogs show correct detection and identification of the hardware. I ran the .deb file again and found the scripts were deleting the files it reported missing. I sent all of this information to Brother with no reply beyond a copy of their original instructions. I also have a Brother MFCj6935DW that works wonderfully. But until this is all worked out Ill have to drag out a Windows laptop I keep around for laughs to print shipping labels. Id be interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully installed and use this printer on any Linux system.

Not sure why this one has such low reviews. I love the brother QL 1050 I had and also love this one. We use them to print thousands of shipping labels and it works great!

It literally took less than 5 minutes from the time I opened the box until I had it set up and working. I have a small business and this printer is EXACTLY what I needed. It doesnt take up much space. It couldnt be easier to load the labels. The label spools also contain markings so the printer can automatically detect the label size. The labels may cost a few cents more for this model, but its worth every penny. The time savings alone offset the cost.

love this printer. i had gotten the rollo based on the reviews it printed way to light and i just didn’t like how there was no storage for the paper. it was also just so off looking .. this prints to dark! i love how it cuts the paper for you. easy to set up. the paper is easy to pop in . it’s also cute

This is the one printer you need for all of your label making needs. The software is reasonably flexible.

Does NOT print labels upward like photo - they print face down therefore if you use certain rolls this will NOT work even with adapter to use any roll. Stickers on roll MUST be face down - most rolls sold are with stickers face up. Photo is NOT correct!
