As others reviewers have stated, this model has a known issue of creasing pages. I manage the I.T. for our CPA firm and have purchased about a dozen of these units and ALL of them (yes, ALL of them) have exhibited this problem. Some printed only 500 pages before the problem began and others took 10,000, so it just varies. Any replacement from Brother would exhibit the same problem as it is a manufacturing flaw, so I didnt even bother with replacements as it isnt worth my time since these are sadly disposable printers anyway. Im hoping the replacement model (HL6300DW) dont have the same problem, but time will tell. I would highly recommend NOT buying this printer and Ive been running Brother printers for 15 years.

I hate those I only wrote this review because...This is at least our 6th machine from Brother all the way from 20,000.00+ Direct to print machines to simple printers. Purchased this printer in May 17, 2017 and just under 3 months June 5, 2017 we had a problem it had lines in the print so talked with tech support jump though all the hoops and came to a decision the toner cartage was bad and they would send me out a new one even though his email said it was the Drum. So we put it in and seemed to remove the dark lines and for text it works great. Now let’s move forward we now Sept 20, 2017 and are printing pictures with the text and here we go lines in the pictures plus not clear prints. They print great on our other brother unit not this one. So call and talk to tech support and here we go try all the cleaning steps and stuff to be told my drum is bad. Now I know you all will say it is a consumable and according to brother 90 day warranty only on that item so they refused to replace it. Here is the kicker only 80% of the drum life is used and we have a failure. How is that my fault and not a manufacture defect when we had the same issue before? We replaced the toner (Brother sent out) but by the time I got the new toner cartage the Drum is now out of the 90 day warranty according to Brother (they still can’t show me that warranty on their website). So bottom line I spent 1 hour 29 minutes of their time waiting for call number 2 that will be at least 30 minutes with a higher manager and I will still not get my drum replaced. Why replace a 120.00 drum in a 169.00 printer that does not work right? So here is the game plan if Brother refuses to replace the Drum I will not buy any more Brother items. Remember the 20,000.00 Direct to print unit at the begging of this post It is getting replaced this year and it will not be a Brother unit. So for Brother not manning up and fixing an issue from June that in reality would cost them less than 30.00 they are willing to take a 20,000.00 plus hit because we will never buy Brother again. My only goal here is to help you all see the type of company Brother has become and how poor their products are becoming also.

BEWARE, this printer does not have a "toner continue" option. What that means is when Brother (not you) decides that the toner cartridge needs replacing, you must replace it. It doesnt matter that you dont have a second cartridge on-hand or that you dont care what the print quality is or that you must print whatever youre printing within the next 10 minutes or that the nearest office supply store is 40 minutes away. It doesnt matter. You have to replace the cartridge if you want to continue printing. This behavior, for me, is outrageous and is reason enough to go with another brand.

I have wasted so much paper with this printer. It puts creases in the papers and I cant use the papers for my work. I have tried all of the tips for this issue and nothing works. Avoid this printer.

Well I loved this printer for 5 months until I needed to change my network settings. Apparently the printer doesn’t like changes and would not connect. Trying to reach someone at brother was a joke. I contacted amazon and they couldn’t find a way to register the product, to use the warranty and the only support offered costs money. Amazon was good enough to let me return the printer. I will NEVER purchase another BROTHER product after this experience. Another note, the description states you get a 1 year warranty on the printer but I found when I called the customer support number listed that that is not true if you buy from Amazon. If you buy from Amazon you get no warranty and you cannot register the printer. Be very careful buying any brother product from Amazon (or anywhere).

Ive only used this for a week in my law practice. It is considerably faster and with better text quality than my old HP P2055dn. it prints pdfs on my Mac quickly and with no issues. For some printers, pdfs take an age on a Mac, where a Word document prints just fine. No rhyme nor reason. The Brother is a bit loud during printing, but I noticed that for about the first 15 minutes. Now I dont hear it at all.

Never, ever, ever buy one of these "Amazon Warehouse Deals" printers. I am now stuck with two that had hidden defects recently discovered and the Amazon return period is only 30 days. I called Brother support and spent two hours jumping through hoops like firmware update, software upgrade, uninstall, reinstall, restart and still the problem exists. They put me off saying level two would call me the next day never got that call. Called back in and got the same hoops to jump through. No satisfaction. Both printers will not connect normally to the wireless network, so I have connected them with USB. One printer only prints half a job and quits printing.

Something has changed. We bought our first 6200 2 years ago and it still works like a champ. We have purchased 2 more over the last year and they have both failed with the "receiving data" message on the screen. We thought that the first time it happened that we probably just ended up with a lemon and now the newest printer, just a few months old is doing the exact same thing. It will sit on that message "receiving data" for hours and will never print anything.

I dont want to bother with a detailed description of all the printers features because it has one overriding flaw. When printing just about anything, a large top portion of the page has black streaks and blobs over it. Completely random. This is a fairly large and heavy item, so any sort of return shipping would be inconvenient and/or expensive. Fail.

This is a great printer for the money. The extra drawer is really what we needed and the other brads are easily another $200 for the same features. However, for some reason, the Brother printers have a sleep function built into them that you cannot disable and is kind of a pain as it goes into a deep sleep and will not awaken by simply printing to it. The timer can be set to 55 minutes max and then if it does sleep, you have to get up and hit the OK button to bring it back to life. Overall a decent printer.
