Full disclosure - I didnt purchase this printer from Amazon though I would have if I could have. It looks like they might not be selling it new. But I wanted to let folks know about my experience with it so far. I purchased a Cannon TS9120 back in November from Amazon - bad purchase - and it finally got to where it couldnt print a page without jamming. I had an HP Color Laserjet 4500 that had been my go to work horse - well it decided to quit printing. Both the Cannon and the HP died the same week. I needed a printer, all in one, that was affordable. I found a 3770 locally at a very decent price and couldnt be happier. It scans and prints from Android, iOS, Windows 10, MacOS and LINUX!!!! I was playing with my Linux box tonight and all of a sudden I realized that it had been discovered and automagically installed. Astounding. It was very easy to setup either wired or wireless. Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the features by getting the online manual. It has some pretty nice things that it can do for the price class. Pros - print speed, time to print, print quality and level of noise when printing. It is really quiet overall. I wouldnt use the printer to print super graphics like pictures and such. But it prints out printed circuit artwork really well, reproduces PDFs into printed books, etc. It can scan a double-sided page in one sweep and output into multiple formats and if you still fax theres lots of options. It also holds 250 sheets of paper!!! Most printers I found in this price range couldnt hold that much. NFC for Android printing...thats pretty cool. Cons - no upgrade routes (trays, memory, etc). The 512MB of built in memory is probably sufficient for everything Ill need. I think the iPrint & Scan app is a battery drainer on a phone. Im going to try the Mopria and see if that one is a bit less taxing on the battery. It also cant run wireless and wired at the same time - but I think that is pretty common. Not really a con but it is big - for a desktop laser it is pretty heavy (which actually is reassuring given what some of the printers Ive looked at seem like). Im fit enough to lift and carry it by myself but wouldnt recommend that for others...while I didnt officially weigh it, it feels like it is around 75lbs in the box and probably 60+ on its own. The guy at the "box store" said that buying a Brother like this one was a great investment. I hope hes right because my printing volume isnt huge but when I need to print I need reliability. My HP was almost 20 yrs old and worked fine. Hopefully I can get the same thing out of this one. Overall Im thinking that if you can find one of these you should probably buy it.

This printer is easily the poorest functioning, quickly broken down printer we have ever purchased. We purchased it in January and within four months the printer no longer recognizes the yellow ink cartridge (and we have purchased multiple TN-227Y cartridges from Brother thinking, at first, that it was the cartridge that was the problem). Due to the printer no longer recognizing the brand new yellow ink cartridge(s) it will not print...at all. So we now have a $440 paperweight (including tax) within 4 months of the purchase date. Sadly, this isn’t the first problematic Brother purchase we have made but we mistakenly thought that we had gotten past that by purchasing a higher end model. Please, **please** purchase a printer from another manufacture.

Print quality is good, network capabilities are good, features are good, but its really for a small office or limited use not for a fairly busy business - particularly if youre mostly printing black. The drums need to be replaced as a set of 4 even if you print little color (Amazon has them for $120ish for a set) every 18,000 pages, and some of the internal parts (Belt unit, Fuser unit, Paper Feeding Kit 1) only have a lifespan of 50,000 pages. The belt unit and paper feeding kit are available if expensive, but the Fuser does not appear to be available except from a single ebay seller. The cost of a fuser, belt unit and drums is more than the cost of a new printer on sale.
