I bought the new TN panel version of this monitor (GFT27DB) a few weeks after it was released in early 2019. The colors are great, and it is so bright I have it set to 25% brightness in a fully lit room. The best part about the monitor is it doesnt suffer from the main drawback of most TN panels, specifically the off angle viewing is superb for a TN. I have an old TN as a second monitor, and viewing it from even 10 degrees off center makes it dark and washed out, especially viewing it from high or low. Conversely, I can view my new GFT27DB from anywhere in the room and it looks great. There is still a slight change in the picture as you move around, which increases as you exceed about 50 degrees off, but unless I am moving back and forth trying to see the change I dont even notice it. It certainly doesnt have IPS viewing angles, but it is light years ahead of every other TN I have seen. Now that newer NVidia GPUs support Freesync, I paired this monitor with my EVGA GTX 1060 SC 6GB and got Freesync working without issue. The monitor arrives with Freesync off, so you have to turn it on in the monitor menu. I also had to download the latest NVidia graphics card drivers (from EVGA) which added the option to check G-Sync compatible in the NVidia menu. Now Freesync is giving me silky smooth 144 Hz gameplay in Rocket League. I did try to run a 2nd monitor from my GPU while gaming on this monitor, and the frame-rate dropped to a choppy, unplayable level. I used to game on a 60 Hz monitor with a 2nd 60 Hz monitor running as well, but that is no longer possible with my new setup. I dont know if this is a limitation of Freesync, or if it is because my 2nd monitor is a lower resolution, or if G-Sync compatible mode only works with a single monitor setup. In any case, I dont blame the new monitor, but it is an issue I ran into. I also learned that G-Sync compatibility with Freesync only works over Displayport, so I was happy to find the monitor came with a DisplayPort cable in the box. As to cons, the built-in speakers seem like an afterthought. I like having them as a backup, but they are really quiet and hard to hear. I have the monitor on a VESA mount, so I cant say too much about the included stand, other than that I avoided using it because I saw reviews saying it allows a bit of side to side wobble. Im also a little disappointed that the monitor controls are a series of buttons under the bottom right of the screen, rather than a joystick or some other more intuitive method. The buttons are a little hard to use as compared to other monitors I have, as they dont protrude much, and I find myself searching for them for a second or two before I find the right spot. But I consider these minor issues and still think this is an excellent monitor. I bought the GFT27DB because I wanted gaming performance (144 Hz, Freesync, 1ms response time, no ghosting, etc) without sacrificing color and viewing angle. I was about to buy a the VA version of this panel for the better colors and viewing angle at the expense of some response time, but when this improved TN panel was released I took a chance and Im 100% thrilled with my decision.

This monitor was great out of the box. My son saved his own money to make this purchase. The problem is the screen completely pixelated up the middle of the screen two months later! We sent it in to Viotek for what they called "warranty coverage." Theyve had the monitor for nearly a month with no word on how long it will take to return it to us. Lo and behold, they email today and told me it would be $219 if we want it fixed (The original price was $199). How is that coverage? NEVER AGAIN will I buy from this company. They dont care at all about selling defective products to their customers. Like I said, great out of the box but you risk it only lasting a VERY short while. Lesson learned- do not trust Viotek. I would give it zero stars for the overall quality and the poor customer service, but the 1 star represents the initial out of the box quality of the monitor. UPDATE: After going round and round with Viotek customer service I learned that the box my monitor was sent back to them in was damaged en route via the carrier! They had pictures and all, but no one told me that they just sent me a bill to "repair the damaged screen." After a month, I finally got a new monitor free of charge (the carrier busted the screen so it was not able to be fixed). I am not updating my stars until I see how this monitor works and if it lasts longer than the original one (which was 2 months).

The main thing I want to share is that this product has clearly been updated since some of the original reviews were posted. A few things I was wary about turned out to be non-issues, so Id like to cover those and what else is great about this monitor. I was concerned about the stand. Many reviews claimed it was decently built but you couldnt adjust the screen angle. The product I received has quite enough movement where the stand meets the panel to allow for any reasonable angle to be set. For me personally, my first panel came with no dead pixels or noticeable issues. Also, it did come with a display port cable capable of 1440p @ 144Hz, though it is quite short - possibly 4ft. The monitor settings were 1440p @ 60Hz by default for me, and its simple enough to get the refresh rate boosted (advanced display settings in Windows). That being said, what I love so far about this panel is the size and the viewing modes (preset). 27" is perfect for me and 1440p looks incredible (4K is debatably overkill for a desktop-size screen, I find 2.5K is a cost-effective FHD upgrade). I tend to use the standard mode (slightly dimmer) for regular web browsing, but the gaming and FPS modes are more suitable for actual gaming. I love that I can swap between these presets. Crosshair "feature" is not only a silly gimmick but clearly was designed by someone who has never played a FPS in their life. The optics are far too busy to be useful, and Ive never met a game that doesnt come equipped with its own crosshairs. Just disregard it and enjoy the monitor as it is. The speakers are also pretty wimpy. I use a $35 mini-soundbar I found online and its far better. Absolutely worth the money overall, I couldnt be happier with it.

I purchased the GN34BC about two weeks ago and now that I have had some time with this monitor, I have absolutely been enjoying using it! I have this paired with my ROG STRIX 56 Vega and easily hit 80-95 FPS in Battlefield V. This monitor has great color and clarity. The blacks are very dark and the whites are perfect. Took a little bit of calibration but looks almost close to my IPS monitor that I have sitting next to it. According to the manual, this version of the monitor does support 100 x100 vesa mount, so if you want to get a different stand, or mount it on the wall you should have no problems. This monitor does 100 Hz refresh rate and my AMD software reports that the freesync range is 48-100 Hz! Plenty of room for smooth and tearing free games! With the curve this monitor, it prevents any wash out of colors. It is not perfect, there is a little motion blurriness, but nothing that would prevent you from playing your games and enjoying the content on the web. I do wish that the stand would go up and down, but my desk has a riser already so it is not bothersome but can see how other people wouldnt like it if they couldnt adjust it to their desired height level. This monitor came with zero dead pixels and the light bleed is very minimal, especially compared to my IPS monitor. For the price of this monitor, it is hard to beat!

Install Flash Player I had high hopes after reading some of the reviews and I am highly disappointed. Even after calibrating the screen the picture quality seems washed out. I didn’t check if there are dead pixels as of yet but after literally using the monitor for about 1hr there was screen tearing. I’m just playing apex on the Xbox one. How does that even happen? I had a monitor from 2012 that works flawlessly but just wanted to upgrade. Very disappointed. Should of stuck with my old Samsung.

I was a little hesitant initially, but once I plugged the monitor in and adjusted some settings (if you want to know my exact settings, please feel free to ask), the outcome speaks for itself. Before this 32" monitor, I was working on 2 - 21.5" 1920 x 1080p monitors; and I needed a 16:9 aspect ratio. Since they dont make a 34" 16:9 monitor, I chose this 32" with a 2540 x 1440p resolution. The curvature is actually very nice for a computer monitor (I would not purchase a curved TV for a living room, or area where more than 1 person is viewing). If youre contemplating going from a smaller monitor to a 32", keep in mind that you will definitely want to have a higher image resolution on the 32". A 32" with 1920 x 1080p will display text/alpha-text fuzzy; so save yourself a headache if you need to read/write. Yes, I do recommend this product, and I would buy it again.

I bought this monitor for my husband but the color is not as good as it is with mine even though the specs were the same. The sound quality on the speakers are not good either really. Edit: after a few months we are having issues with dead pixels on start up. There are huge lines across the bottom and through the center after reading through the warranty though I am upset about the 15% fee for returns to Amazon. The speakers are beyond poor sound quality as well.

DON"T BUY!!! dont recommend. Cant believe they send me 2 monitors with the same defect. I bought the GN32DB monitor on cyberweek on amazon. Looked like the perfect display for my needs. But guess what the audio jack 3.5mm didnt work so i tried 3 different audio devices: 2 headsets and a soundbar. Fine, I contacted Viotek directly and they wanted me to send it for repair. I was like nope, so I contacted amazon support and they asked if I wanted refund or replacement. I said lets give it a chance and I ordered a replacement. Guess what the replacement arrived today 12/15/2018 and has the same issue. So I noticed that in the manual it says that the OSD (menu interface) has the option of LED on off (this is the useless LEDs on the back of the monitor) . So i checked the menu and there was no option. This guys installed the wrong firmware on these 2 monitors and god knows how many and they dont even know. I will contact amazon again and ask for my full refund and Id be sending these monitors back.

This review is concerning the GN27D 27" 1440p 144hz Samsung VA Panel monitor. First off, the monitor looks absolutely beautiful. The stand looks nice, if fairly simple, and the thin bezel makes the picture really stand out. The contrast for the monitor is good, the viewing angles are large, and the gamma is actually really decent as well... as long as you set the gamma to be 2.4 in the menu. 2.4 aligns the gamma to the PROPER calibration of 2.2... for some reason. There are 2 complaints I have with the picture quality, and one of this is an inherent trait in VA panels regardless. The first is the brightness, while the monitor is bright, it could still be a little brighter, a small range of blacks still get crushed even at max brightness. The other complaint is theres a decent amount of blur created due to the duration it takes for the pixels to change, but this is a quality in all VA monitors and something you should expect. The main complaint I have about the design is getting to *any* of the inputs on the bottom of the monitor is very difficult. Theres little space to fit your hands in there due to a plastic shielding that covers the ports which are about 2" deep into the bottom of the monitor. The final issue I have with the monitor is the fact that whenever the Display Port cable is bumped, the monitor turns off. I thought it was my cable at first, so I bought a new one, which also happened to be thinner, and the problem went away. Later I discovered that the reason it went away was because the thinner cable stopped pressing against my desk which was causing the thicker one to be bumped thus turning the screen off. Edit: After nVidia added FreeSync support to all monitors I have now been able to test out the FreeSync feature of this panel. Its not great. Theres a nauseating strobing effect that occurs when you turn FreeSync on as the backlight flickers to match the adjusting refresh rate or some such. Not quite sure what exactly is causing the flickering, but its really difficult to watch and I had to turn FreeSync back off.

Can be overclocked to 120hz using NVIDIA Control Panel, but its not perfectly stable. I have mine set to 112hz. Works amazing. Great quality. No issues. Easy to clean screen. So much more real estate. Its so much easier using tools like Sony Vegas because the timeline is so long now. Gaming and videos are beautiful. On top of the refresh rate, I play videos on this thing with a program called SVP that interpolates video in MPC-HC and other players, so I can watch old series like Dragon Ball Z with better fluidity than my 120hz 50" HDTV can. Thats the bonus of having it connected to PC. The monitor menu is a little annoying at first but you get used to it. Honestly, once you adjust the monitor to your personal preference after initial setup, you wont even be in the menu anymore anyway. The resolution is gorgeous and the aspect ratio is nearly the same as a theater screen. I dont know if it has audio or not since I use 5.1 SRS via SPDIF cable to my motherboard anyway. Im sure most use external speakers anyway. Also, I found myself for the first time having multiple items on my screen open due to the use of Windows snapping feature. I never used the snap feature before because on a traditional 16:9 I felt there was never enough room, but Im actually using it now and its very beneficial to go browsing while looking at my doorbell camera at the same time. For the price, and for its overclock abilities, and resolution, and quality, youd be crazy to pass up on this if youre looking for a budget gaming monitor or a multitask monitor. UPDATE: After 32 days, a black dead pixel appeared on the upper right area of screen. Im very mad and Im working on setting if theyll replace it. This is ridiculous. Will update once I sort out the after 30 day Amazon return policy.
