I wanted to like it. I wanted to love it! The colors and clarity were great! But why buy a 1440p monitor if you cant run it at 1440 without flicker and tearing? Dialing back to 1080p fixed that problem...right before it lost and never recovered the Mini DisplayPort signal. Sent back, refund issued. Defective? Perhaps. But with 4k coming down in price, its not really worth giving it a second chance. Ill go w/ a Dell or Acer monitor. Its a shame. ViewSonic used to make great monitors, but reading the other negative comments, the quality appears to have fallen far.

I bought this monitor primarily to be able to do some office work at home, and secondarily to view photos and videos. The image quality is sharp and clear and colors look decent, using a displayport connection from my Dell laptop. But the cheap stand included offers almost no adjustment in any direction, including backwards tilt. So I cant get a comfortable viewing angle on a small desk unless I were to put something under the stand to bring it up to eye level, which would be a hassle. And the included speakers are just barely functional when turned all the way up to maximum, which to me means they arent really adequate. (Yes, separate speakers would solve that, but if there are going to be speakers they should at least sound as good as my cell phone.) So the monitor itself is fine, and the price of $192 that I paid was fair, but the lack of stand adjustment and poor speakers means I will probably return this for something better. If youre on a tight budget, dont mind the stand, and dont care about the speakers, this is worth considering...otherwise look elsewhere.

In almost every way I love this monitor, my one complaint is that the monitor stand is too flimsy, and if I type with my forearms on the desk it starts shaking and keeps shaking for a little while after im done typing. Ive never noticed this with any other monitor before in 25 years as a software developer.

Awesome tech in just a few years. Ive moved my main old monitor off as a second screen and I like this monitor so much. As soon as I can afford it Im thinking Ill go with a triple setup. The only issue I ran into was with dual monitors I had to disconnect my main one for it to be recognized. that may be with my motherboard / bios more than the monitor however. Was a simple fix. Great for Excel and for gaming on my i5 3570k with a GTX 1060

I got one and had it replaced because the white was off-white, not good for photo editing. Replacement came in and again, white is off (compared with MacBook Pro Retina bright whites) although not as much as the first monitor I returned. No crispy white as it should be and other reviews mention. I’m going to keep it anyway but I’m unlikely to be able to use it to edit my photos (amateur photographer but avid user of RAW editing software). Will have to use my MacBook Pro to set my black and white points.

I ordered 2 of these. They look great, perform as expected, with excellent picture quality. However, both failed within 6 months. The first one started randomly glitching into a color-warped mode, which quickly became more frequent over the next few days, to the point of becoming unusable. A few months later, the second began badly flickering, also to the point of unusability. I confirmed both are hardware failures (in both cases the glitching also applies to the monitor startup screen, and on-screen menus), and both monitors have only been stored in clean, static, climate-controlled office conditions. After the first failed, I ordered another of the same (to keep a matching set), assuming it was an isolated failure. But now theres a pattern of repeat failures, I will be switching to another brand.

I bought this monitor as a second monitor because my first one is a VP2770-LED with similar specs. I take some photos--mostly landscapes--and my desktop background was a picture of Crater Lake that I had taken last year. No amount of adjusting could get the color tone and depth on this monitor to match that of the VP2770-LED. The only variable that I havent tweaked is the connection to the graphics card. So, it is possible that the difference in quality between HDMI and DVI could be the problem. I think that, if I only had one monitor, I would be perfectly happy with this one. I bought this monitor for customer support and not for photo editing so, I will not return it.

I got the first of these and had to return it because the moment I turned it on, the splash screen was distorted and clearly not of the promised resolution. When windows opened, and it was the same thing. Since I ordered a replacement monitor instead of a refund, I was not charged shipping (thank you Amazon!). The new monitor works perfectly at full 2560x1440 resolution over HDMI. It is being driven by a laptop with a 7000 series i7 processor. I use the 13.3 inch 1920x1080 2 in 1 laptop in "stand mode" with this monitor above it, so now I have a two screen set up that takes up no more desktop space than would be taken up by this monitor alone. Happily, the laptop does not seem to have any difficulty driving both screens at full resolution. This is an IPS screen, good angles, colors are bold and correct, the higher resolution on a 24-inch screen is exceptional. I have always liked ViewSonic products because they are superior and at a reasonable price point. You can buy with confidence because if one doesn’t work, and you order a replacement instead of a refund, you will even save yourself return shipping!

2nd Edit: I finally managed to call support after several months and I got a replacement monitor in about 2 weeks. It cost me $30 to ship from Seattle to California. I had to follow-up via email to get acknowledgment of receipt of the broken monitor. The replacement has been working for about 6 weeks at this point. It came with some cosmetic issues and was not level with the surface it sat on until I bent it a bit. 1st edit: Have to change my review. After 4 months it went completely dark except right at edge while I was using it. Have not seen any image on it since. I tried another computer, 2 Other cables and the other input on monitor. Support is a phone number only open while I am at work. Havent yet had an opportunity to call support. But even when and if it gets fixed. It will require shipping expense and much inconvenience. Early review: Works wpell so far (several weeks of occasional use). Mini displayport cable that came with it is unreliable. I purchased a replacement from monoprice, which has worked perfectly.

Like many I am sure, I compared several different 27 inch quad HD monitors, although there were not a lot of options. I settled on ViewSonic primarily based on price and features not needed on other monitors, although I suspected from price the quality would not be as good as several of the others. Upon initial use, the monitor was close to what was expected, the resolution was fairly poor and colors were okay but not necessarily vibrant as you might hope. I realized quickly that my previous HP, Sceptre and ASUS monitors (only three I have ever had) were better quality than this. Unfortunately about week four I noticed two distinct vertical thick yellow lines that appeared instantaneously. I tried the monitor on a different computer, same issue, and switched another monitor to my main computer to check if a video card problem, it was the ViewSonic monitor. Fortunately Amazon took care of me and issued a refund and I replaced the ViewSonic with an ASUS Designo 27" monitor. When I first plugged in the ASUS after being used to the ViewSonic for about five weeks, it blew me away. I genuine,y wasnt expecting that much difference, I couldnt imagine there being that much difference in color crispiness and resolution, either the ASUS is simply one of the absolute best on the market or the ViewSonic is one of the poorest. Had I not had a problem develop, I would have kept the ViewSonic, but I am thankful now as I realize what I suspected, the ViewSonic was a budget monitor I should not have had too high of hopes for, but even then it dissapointed as I compared to another manufacturer, albeit a more expensive model. I would give second thoughts to this monitor, maybe my malfunction was an anomaly, but the quality just isnt good compared to an ASUS, an HP, a Samsung, or likely an LG.
