I originally bought this to replace an Acer SB220Q as my primary monitor and was, at first, disappointed overall. The contrast was extremely high and tuning its settings through the OSD (whose buttons were extremely sharp and cut into my fingers) didnt help at all. Colors were slightly more saturated than I feel they should have been. Viewing angle was pretty narrow and corners were dark, and coupled with the high native contrast, it was difficult to view any dark images or games. Theres a noticeable screen-door effect on plain white images. The speakers were super gutless and required the desktop audio to be cranked up to max to be audible, at which point it would lose any clarity and had no bass to it whatsoever. Its response time setting was supposed to reduce motion blur, but the tradeoff was that it added significant ghosting and choppy motion. Most importantly, it had a vignette along the right edge of the monitor that was annoying enough for me to RMA it under warranty. I received an older manufacturing date model as a replacement and the quality of the two monitors is night and day for some reason. The contrast and colors now match my other displays, including the SB220Q. I was able to get an almost 100% image match with very slight tuning of the RGB. The monitors OSD buttons are more square and blunt and dont require as much force to press. The speakers are noticeably better. The response time setting now works with no noticeable trade-off like the ghosting before and makes high-speed games look great. Unfortunately, the screen door is still there and this one also has a dark edge along the right side of the screen albeit much less noticeable, but the improvement in the color was enough to warrant me keeping it. Its on-the-fly gaming mode isnt for me as it turns the image bland, flat, and washed out in favor of lower contrast thats supposed to make it easier to see in the dark for esports or tactical games or something. I recommend this for gaming, where youre likely to not focus enough on the image quality to notice its issues, but not for creative work or art as its color and light seems to be inconsistent between units.

The picture overall is quite amazing. Had to set the brightness and contrast to 50 / 50 at set up because it was blinding when first turned on. The darks and brights are great. HOWEVER... there is a very annoying back light that beams through on the right side. Since I do a lot of graphic and video editing, I need t see everything for what it really is to properly do my editing and color corrections, etc. This will be useful as a side monitor to just use for side stuff but for a main monitor, not good for what I do. Update: Amazon is amazing! Called about the issue and in less than a minute they put in to ship for a replacement and was done! 2 days later got the replacement and the image is amazing. A great monitor! Amazon... thank you for the best customer service on the planet!!!

Well they work well but have had two fail in less than a year, the first one was at the 45 day mark and there was only a 30 day warranty for a new replacement and I didnt want a refurbished one when mine was so new, so I went to the corporate office in chino and made them give me one which failed less than a year later so Ive moved on...

I use two of these monitors daily at work for CAD work as well as programming machines. The screens provide crisp images of what I am working on. I enjoy viewsonic screens more then any brand. Viewsonic is easy to work with as well. Last year one of my monitors that I purchased from Amazon developed some dead pixels. All I needed to do was contact viewsonic, email pics of the issue I was having and I was told to send it to them and they would take care of it. A few days later a brand new replacement monitor arrived at my place of work. Very happy with their customer service. Viewsonic monitors have a 3 year warranty period, I had owned the monitor for two and a half years. Will continue to buy viewsonic monitors, once you pick one up and use them on a daily basis as I do, you will notice how inferior other monitors are compared to viewsonic.

Good screen, well built, good sound. However, older LED TVs do one thing better. At least for me. They used to MUTE the speaker if you had headphones plugged in, so the sound was there automatically for me when I put the headphones on. Seems a humane thing to do, since I turn it on late at nite, and dont want speakers blaring for even a second while my wife wants to sleep. TODAYS TVs including this Viewsonic do it differently: They ASSUME you have a SOUNDBAR if you have something plugged into the headphone jack. Then, you get no sound WHATEVER until you wake up the soundbar too. Universal remote controls can run a TV and a DVR device simultaneously, but NOT A THIRD DEVICE [the now obligatory soundbar]. VERY annoying. As a side issue NOT related to this very nice TV, I now have so many control wires running between my many devices, I better not have a house fire, because theres no way for the insurance company to figure out what went wrong and pay a claim. Id have to sell the wreckage to a copper recycler.

I knew my old monitor was dying when it would fade to black within a few seconds of being turned on -- but I didnt realize how bad it had been until I turned on this ViewSonic monitor -- WOW!!! It is clear & bright -- I can really identify items on my display. About the shipping -- I ordered it from Amazon because they said 2 day shipping. I was disappointed when they informed me that it wouldnt arrive until Friday - snow was also coming - (I was really wanting it on Wednesday!) But Amazon has alternate shippers that really came through -- they delivered it yesterday (Wednesday). Congratulations to Amazon for not only having quality products but finding a way to have it delivered as originally stated!

I like these for budget gaming monitors. The size is perfect for my use, and they fit well on a dual monitor stand using the vesa mounts. These new ones about 22 watts each, so say about 44 watts for the two monitors. I replaced a 10 yr old 20.5-inch sceptre that died, and its 12 yr old pair. Those older, smaller monitors weighed in at like over 13 pounds each. The older monitors used a lot more power than the new larger monitors. One at 85 watts! and the other at 45 watts!. The new monitors weigh in at about 7.5 pounds each so that was a huge weight savings as well. The new monitors run way cooler than old ones.

I was in a bit of a jam on Friday April 11. I woke up that day and opened my trusty MacBook Pro, and thats when I heard it. A sound. A bad sound. A horrible, gut-wrenching sound that was somewhat akin to a meat grinder creating a pile of sausages for some kind of sausage party. And that sound was coming from my laptop. After running around in pure panic for a little while, I decided that no matter what was going on, it was time to replace my 5-year-old computer. So, I purchased a great Mac mini (i7 quad core with 8GB RAM), but then needed something to see the computer do its thing. A monitor, if you will. I looked at Apples monitor offering... a $999 monstrosity that Im sure is very nice. But I wasnt going to spend that kind of money. I work in graphic design among other areas of marketing, so a good monitor is pretty darn important to my life. Back in the days of CRT monitors, Id used a ViewSonic, and had nothing but good experiences with them. But that was in the 90s, and a lot changed since then. Like my hairline, and waistband. The monitor arrived very quickly. I am always amazed at how fast things arrive from Amazon, even though I almost always opt for the free shipping. I put in the included power cable, then plugged it into the Mac mini using a single HDMI cable that Id purchased for the occasion. I fired up the computer and presto-bango, the monitor roared to life. Well, it didnt roar, really. It quietly came on, and I was impressed right away. Everything was nice and crisp. I tested out some high-res graphic files, and colors looked really good. Lets be frank: this isnt one of ViewSonics best monitors, nor is it designed for graphic work. Its a gaming monitor designed for people who want a nice 24" screen without spending big money. The build quality is decent, but you can see that not a lot of work went into making the areas where the cable connect very pretty. My answer to that? Who cares! Its a nice monitor that cost very little. I use it for everything from print ad creation through video editing through web design, and it works just fine. Ive also used it to watch movies, and play games (as it was intended). Everything functions just fine. All pixels are happily lit. The stand does its job, though theres not much adjustability to it. Considering the price, I have no complaints, and would recommend this to anyone who, like me, wants a pretty good monitor without spending a ton of cash.

These things are so good for the price I bought two. I have used Viewsonic monitors since the early 90s and I have never regretted a single purchase of which theres been many. Trouble free, simple installation and operation, bright vibrant image, excellent working life and easily repairable. Theyre maybe a few buck more than the average monitor, but totally worth it in the long run.

Nice monitor to date. Previous version we had of same 21.5" size and which we still use has a piece of junk, poorly design plastic switch, part of the bezel, that broke and thus now we have no way of turning off that monitor short of unplugging it. On calling Viewsonic their support was useless even for parts to buy a new bezel that has the plastic switch buttons. They need to improve their customer service. They seem to just want you to throw away the monitor and buy a new one.
