So first when I was in the market for a portable screen I went with an Asus MB169B+. The screen was slightly thinner than this one but with huge bezels, no mounting options, and a cheap plastic feel compared to this screens metal back. Then the kicker came, it didnt work with my cube mix plus, the screen would flicker on/off but nothing. Not enough power, even thru a usb c dock! And since its only one port the only option is a y cable. So I returned it and got this screen. And boy is it better! Not only is it metal backed with vesa mounting holes and way thinner bezels but it has 4 ports! 2 usb c, mini hdmi and a micro usb! Its got a nice matte screen that doesnt mirror your face in bright light and is crisp, bright, and vivid. Plus its a less heavy screen too than the Asus too. I think ive looked around and this is literally THE lightest portable 15.6 inch screen on Amazon. And the promise of only 1 cable connection that the other monitor promised and failed for me? As you can see in my pic, usb c to usb c on my cube mix plus works like a dream, no drivers! I can even hook up my consoles to this too! And the speakers were a surprise too, fairly loud for the size! My only complaint with the screen itself is no headphone jack but considering how thin it is its probably too fat a port to have on such a sleek device. Also mini hdmi would have been better as full size but again this thing is pretty thin, the ports it DOES have are barely narrow enough to fit here as is! The one other downside is the folio it comes with. The Asus one seemed to be better made. The raised strips to hold the tablet in the 3 positions upright are too low, doesnt feel secure. The last strip especially since the tablet is super tilted doesnt provide much height to stop the screen from jumping over it with the slightest touch. Overall tho its an amazing buy! If I have issues ill definitely update this review but as of now zilch. Every single task, hookup, etc Ive tried have been seamless. I might even buy another one at some point for a diy project of mine, its THAT good!

As an event photographer, I am constantly traveling between assignments. This portable screen goes well with my 15" Macbook Pro, which I use for quick on-location editing. It is nice to have a 2nd screen for Adobe Lightrooms dual monitor mode, or open another photo browsing app for culling or quick references, or having browser/email/instant messenger apps windows open up on it while working with image editing: dual screens definitely improves my productivity, if theres enough table area in hotel rooms or on conference locations to set up the 2nd screen. The monitor comes with a sleek protective sleeve and stand, folds down tiny bit smaller than the 15” MBP, everything fits well into my Think Tank laptop bag. I have only used it for one shoot so far, native color looks ok for me and I would color calibrate the screen with an x-rite Colormunki and see how it matches the MBP screen. It does have brightness, contrast, and some color tweaking menu adjustment options. It takes one USB port and one HDMI port on my 2015 15" MBP, and I wish it comes with angled usb and HDMI cables for better cable management. Will update comment after using it for a while longer.

I bought this solely for my 15.6" ASUS laptop to have dual screen, but portable. This screen is slim enough to fit in side by side with my laptop inside my laptop backpack. Setting up for me was easy, I used the HDMI to mini HDMI along with the charging USB-C type to regular USB type cable to connect to my laptop and it worked instantly (of course, after selecting dual screen function from my laptop) Note: I tried using my own USB-C cable (that I use to charge my phone with), that didnt work, Im guessing their cable and my cable draws different amount of power and mine did not supply enough juice to the monitor. So, use their cables that are provided in the box.

REVIEW UPDATE--6/17/19 Im returning this and have bought a UPERFECT 13.3" monitor instead. Some things to be aware of: 1) Your computer needs to have enough power for the screen to reach full brightness (which is still not very bright) 1a) For the extra power, you will need to plug in their extra USB-C-A cable, thus taking up a USB A port on your computer. (In my case, I lost a usb C for video, a usb a for power, and needed to plug my computer in--an unacceptable amount of ports and cables to carry around, just for it to be a usable brightness). 1b) On a single USB C connection, even with my laptop plugged in, the monitor would flicker/refresh noticeably. It would be on 2/10 brightness (extremely dim), AND flicker. Dont know if this is a defect or just poor quality but theres no way the refresh rate could be gameable if it made me dizzy just trying to do work. 2) High gloss. You may like it, you may not. 3) No mounting holes. 4) Minor point, but the case is pretty cheap feeling and off-gassed for a day or two which may bother some people. 5) The little hole for a pen is too small and serves more as decoration. You can only stick a No.2 or Bic mechanical pencil in there, nothing thicker., whereas the UPERFECT monitor hole can fit an actual pen. Im bashing it a lot, but if you have better laptop battery power, or portability/brightness isnt your concern, this is probably great for you at the price. Meanwhile, the UPERFECT 13.3 is smaller and lighter, has matte screen, better menu buttons, mounting holes, and most importantly, incredible brightness and only needs ONE usbC-C cable without extra power or being plugged in. Practically same price. Checkout the pictures to see the size and color/brightness difference. YMMV. Hope this helps someone. ---------------------------------------------------- Using with Thinkpad X1 Gen6, Ubuntu 18.04. Pros: Very light, sleek looking. Plug and play (no extra drivers, works well with Ubuntu 18.04), easy to plug in, etc Nice packaging Comes with nice looking case (not sure about durability or protection though) Includes all the cables you need and English manual. Sharp image, decent response but wouldnt game on it. Fair price. I paid $159.99 + 3rd party 3-year protection. Cons: Feels plasticky and a little flimsy. Color feels green--or my Thinkpad monitor is on the red side. Brightness is ridiculously low (2/10) with only one USB-C input cable. Its so dark it is unusable. It is acceptable at max brightness but needs USB-C-USB-C or HDMI connector for data and the USB-A-USB-C for extra power. Does not wake up with main monitor and requires unplugging USB-C input cable. Menu buttons + and - are opposite direction of on-screen menu, and a little unintuitive. High gloss (con for me): reflections are intense on this thing. In conclusion, I feel it is a bit deceptive as a "USB C" monitor because it NEEDS the extra USB-A connection on my computer to reach full brightness (which is still dark enough it cant be used in any sunlight). The connection is a bit finicky when starting up computer or waking up from sleep and it is having some difficulty turning on (no signal error and flickering a lot), and it concerns me a bit. Eventually it connects and works fine, but its a pain to reconnect or wake up and Im a bit worried about wearing out the connections. Im glad I bought the 3yr protection just in case, but Id prefer to feel a little more confident about the product and am having some second thoughts. I do enjoy the sleek profile and cute case, and the fact it is a very simple plug-n-play product, but irked by it needing a USB-C AND USB-A port on my computer in order to even be a usable brightness. In a dark(er) room, it is fine, but the reflections are intense. It works fine as a productivity unit and I hope it lasts, and so far the price seems fair.

I was looking for a portable monitor to have a second screen to study off of when Im on the go, and to connect to my Nintendo Switch. It works so far for its intended use. It connected to my Samsung Notebook Pro 15in via USB type c (to charge) and mini hdmi (from the portable monitor) to hdmi (on the laptop). It also connects to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch needs to be plugged into an outlet though. The monitor itself can charge off of a portable power bank. The screen looks matte, which I like. The brightness doesnt go as bright as my laptop or other monitor but not a big enough con to warrant returning it. So far, so good. Will update after some more usage.
