I purchased two of these monitors a year ago. I did not get the chance to use them until now. Since, I am working from home. So I had no idea until I unpackaged them a few months ago that I discovered one out of the two was defective. When I troubleshot it, it would turn on for a few seconds and then abruptly shut off. Initially, it was an painstaking inconvenience because I only used the monitors to study for my courses. Now, it is a tremendous work stoppage as I work from home and require both monitors to successfully do my job.

It worked great for approximately 6 hours, then the backlight broke. I can still see the picture if I use a flashlight and its definitely hooked up right. It had so many great reviews, thats why I bought it but I must have gotten unlucky with this one.

The monitor worked fine the first time I used it, then no longer worked when I tried to use it again. The power indicator light would light up and my laptop recognized the monitor, but the monitor screen just stayed black no matter what type of troubleshooting I tried. The monitor was obviously defective, which can happen with any product, but I also felt the power adapter and overall construction were flimsy as compared to other monitors. Also, this monitor came with a Phillips screwdriver to be used for the 4 screws that attach the base to the monitor itself. While the inclusion of the screwdriver was convenient, I found the need for it to be odd since most other monitor bases just snap on — which is more convenient than screws to begin with. Since this monitor died at an inconvenient time when I didn’t have time to wait for a return/replacement, I went to Walmart and picked up a 24” HP monitor for about $30 more than this one. Compared to the HP, the quality of this monitor - both the graphics and construction - is mediocre. This Sceptre would have been suitable for my needs had it not died, but I’m ultimately happier with the quality of the HP.

This was my second Sceptre HDMI monitor. The first one was bought from Amazon about a year ago and worked great until I knocked it off my desk and cracked it :-( So I ordered another one and it arrived in its sealed box without the support bracket that connects the monitor to the base. I emailed Sceptre customer service and explained the problem, gave them the Amazon order # and the address where to ship the part. Thats when the problems started. Apparently they cant use the Amazon Order # for anything and the wanted to know when I bought it, what was the model # and the serial #. OK, I provided that. Next they wanted me to register it on their website and THEN order the part, "Buy it" or whatever, Ill never know because I told them where to put their monitor. I returned it to Amazon for a full refund and bought a much nicer one from one of their competitors. Yea!

The display seems sharp and clear, and easy setup with stand. I have it connected from my laptop HDMI port to the monitors HDMI port. The problem i have is that the display images/screen is off color, in that the blue in the Windows 7 desktop theme is much more to the greenish side.. I have done calibration, and other adjustments in the nividia control panel and other graphics options. This hold true for whatever is on the screen. My other monitor connected to may laptop is thru VGA, and the color is correct. I connected this new Sceptre monitor to my other Windows 10 desktop via the HDMI port with the same result.. I understand this may have something to do with HDMI outputting as TV, rather than computer. Is what I am seeing norma behavior and is there any remedy for this?

(see why I knocked a star at the end) This is my first purchased monitor, previously I was using hand me-downs. After getting an upgrade at work I realized it was time to upgrade. I am running this monitor with a Lenovo W540 Via HDMI to Mini DisplayPort as a normal use monitor I am very happy, and for CAD work it exceeds my expectations, however as a gaming monitor, it is about what you would expect at this price, good resolution but a bit slow/ blurry. In some menus it also has a tendency to shake, but it seems to go away when the game starts(for the most part) as far as build, I am Extremely happy with the brushed metal plastic around the edges, and thin borders. it looks great and feels plenty solid for something that just sits on my desk. I also like how the cables plug straight back. So overall I would say this is an excellent Monitor for the price, HOWEVER (this is why I knocked a star), I have 1 minor complaint. The plug is a transformer style plug. so you will have a big box on the plug taking up valuable power strip space. Its not the end of the world, but I wish it were different.

This monitor is actually very nice for what I paid ($100). The bezel is very thin (5/16" stainless steel trim) and then maybe another 1/16" to the active LCD pixels. The bottom bezel is completely flat with the exception of the LED that sticks out about 1/16", but its far enough back that you could stack these monitors to have NO space between them and the minimum bezel for the money. I bought this one and love it, but I am returning it due to a white spot on the monitor screen. From what I have read, this is a piece of dust or dirt in the screen layers which causes the layers to push against each other and allow the light to come through more direct at that spot. It only shows up when the screen is bright white in that spot. I have already purchased a 2nd one for my wife but it will not arrive until tomorrow. I am looking to buy another in this defective monitors place, but they currently stopped prime shipping after a wild price ride they had over the last 48 hours. I will see how the second monitor looks when it arrives to determine if I will be buying again. The monitor is LIGHT.... its a featherweight. It has 2 Vesa holes on a 100mm pattern in the back and it holds the monitor just fine. It does not have speakers, but does have an audio in and audio out jacks, but I have no idea why. I recommend this monitor as it is a 24" monitor and looks great, so slim. But I am giving 4 stars for the defect, but based on the rest of the great reviews, I just got a 1/1000 bad monitor.

As a college student, price was my main consideration, and this monitor delivers at this price point. I use it as a secondary display for my MS surface book, run through a surface dock. It functions beautifully. The form factor, between the thin profile and thin bezel, is perfect for my little dorm room. As far as monitor performance, its not the best, but it does everything I need it to. The black/contrast levels are underwhelming, but in all fairness, Im going constantly between this and the surface book, whose screen can thrash pretty much everything, let alone a monitor thats 1/22 the price. Video plays beautifully, even at 60FPS. That said, I dont game much, but I wouldnt expect greatness from this monitor for that purpose. I did once encounter some weird "snow" interrupting my picture, but cycling the power put a stop to it. Startup time is blazing compared to the older monitors I had been used to at home. Overall, great value monitor. Id love to try daisy chaining a couple of them, but Ill just have to wait until I have the room.

Thin bezel, Easily goes next to each other with small frame line. 2 hole VESA is no issue due to how light they are, Power transformer on the plug keeps the monitor light and thin, Worked right out of the box, no power off issues. My wife and I love these monitors. I was a bit skeptical at purchasing an unknown brand especially at such an incredibly low price. The reviews I read were positive so I bought two. I initially bought them both for my desk to have a dual monitor system with my laptop docking station. Unfortunately I have an armoire style desk with a drawer/shelving/cubbyhole system over the desktop and I didnt measure between the two shelves on each side before buying them. The stands do not allow for any vertical adjustment so I couldnt do a dual set up and gave the 2nd one to my wife so she could have a larger screen for her personal and work laptops. If all you need is a decent monitor for every day tasks, you cant go wrong with this unit for the price.
