Setup was very easy, two screws go into the back of the monitor, two more into the base. A Phillips screwdriver is included. There is an HDMI 1.4 port that will do 1080 at 120hz, an HDMI 2.0 port that will do 1080 at 144hz, and a Display Port that will do 1080 144hz. The monitor comes with a Display Port cable. Upon powering the monitor on, it will be in 60hz. This needs to be changed in the Windows 10 settings. Under the resolution settings are Advance Display Adapter settings, thats where you change it to 144hz. If you attempt to change it elsewhere, it likely wont take. If your on screen text is even a bit fuzzy, you probably are still in 60hz mode and dont realize it. I changed mine in the AMD control panel, but it didnt actually change until I went into the Windows settings and changed it to 144hz there. FreeSync works very well. I believe the range is 49hz to 144hz. I use AMD Chill to keep my range between 70 and 144. All VSync is turned off so that FreeSync can operate unimpeded. If youre contantly above 144, which is unlikely on AMD hardware, then you may want to try Adaptive VSync. FreeSync also needs to be enabled in the monitor menu. OverDrive is supposed to give you better pixel response. I did not find this worth it, the small loss in color depth wasnt worth the slightly faster response time. The monitor also has advance calibration settings, gamma, red, blue, green, yellow, cyan, and magenta. I found the default to be slightly greenish blue, I lowered each of those a couple of ticks. I also lowered gamma from 2.2 to 2.4 just to get a little more depth on the black levels. Just to note, 2.2 was spot on in my testing, I just prefer the slightly darker shade of black. There is a movie mode that has deep blacks and super saturated, while it looks good, the shadows are crushed in games making it difficult to spot enemies. I found the FPS pre-set to be pretty good. The speakers are awful, not even worth mentioning. I also enjoy the curve monitor. My previous is a 27 inch flat and I always felt like I was sitting too close for the size. 24 inch on a desk is much more comfortable. Very good monitor for the price, 144hz is immediately noticeable, I cannot believe I went this long without it. I would recommend this monitor. My hardware is a Ryzen CPU with an AMD rx 580. Update:. Ive been getting intermittent black screens for about 3 seconds at a time. Ive tried many different settings. The fix seems to be to set the color to 6 bit rather than 8 bit. Update 2: Lowering the color depth did not fix the issue, it eventually came back. Ive also tried gpu scaling, full screen, preserve aspect ratio, vsyn on, vsyn off, overdrive on, overdrive off, frame rate limiter... Pretty much every possible setting. Ive tried every suggestion online. This seems to be a moderately common issue with various FreeSync monitors from various manufacturers. I have no choice but to return the monitor. I am trying a TN monitor. I am guessing that most of the VA monitors in this price range actually use the same panel from the same factory. To make sure I truly get a different panel, I am switching to a Dell TN FreeSync monitor. Update 3: Ive had the Dell D2719HGF for nearly a week without an issue. It has performed flawlessly. A couple of differences to note, the depth of the black level on the Sceptre is clearly better being a VA panel. However, the color saturation is just as good on the Dell with a bit of tweaking. The Dell is far superior is a few areas. I didnt notice until I compared, but the text on the Sceptre was a bit fuzzy, probably due to the lower quality panel and the curvature. I also didnt think I would notice a difference in speed or smoothness considering they are both 144hz FreeSync, but the Dell has noticeably less motion blur, which is should being a TN panel. The Dell build quality is also superior. And... The Dell actually works without going black every few minutes.

Okay lets get this straight, youre buying a gaming monitor for under 200 dollars, so dont expect all the bells and whistles... Well having said that, this is a pretty darn good panel for the price and the performance. I havent color calibrated everything to my liking yet so I will most likely write another review later on. Having bought monitors from Sceptre before I can honestly say they are solid and deliver what you can expect from a company that has a stable history in selling computer screens. Out of the box which was pretty impressively packed came the monitor stand, instant liking to the matte black metal which feels sturdy right from the get go. All screws were provided for the mount and the base, and were easy to assemble with the provided screw driver, Sceptre you get big points for this because sometimes you just cant find the right screw driver or maybe some folks just dont have one at all. So kudos to you. Now onto the panel, which was lovingly wrapped with a fun screen protector that is always fun to peel, cmon you have to love the peel. So getting everything together was a snap and although a little wobbly if you accidentally hit the sides of the screen, well its going to happen with these types of stands, so not much worries because it will hold up the screen and durably so. When turning on the screen it went right to the brilliantly red Sceptre text and there was my computer, icons all over the place but then again I had the much smaller and much cheaper Sceptre 20" 75Hz screen which did the job until I forked over the cash for this beast. So after some tweaks to icons, color settings and so on I finally found the somewhat comfort zone with this panel, which is still an adventure but gaming is a beast on this thing. Remember to set Freesync to ON in your monitor settings and graphics settings, via windows and your graphics software. Make sure you select 144Hz using the display port(Recommended) or HDMI 1. Then youre ready to game and this screen was meant for exactly that. I would never go back to 60Hz or my previous 75Hz just because, well you will have to buy one to find out. And for aesthetics I never noticed the LED back lit Red S insignia on the rear of the panel. Pretty sharp Sceptre, pretty sharp, now make the next one in RGB. So in a nutshell, great monitor, great price to performance on a budget and style that can fit any setup all the way around.

Good monitor so far aside from the attached image. Seems the visible screen doesnt extend to the bezel. Not sure if its a fluke or what. Comment if you see the same or different. Thanks Edit: discussed with Sceptre, monitor is correct. Dont even notice the screen bezel when using. Excellent monitor.

Great monitor for my bedroom battlestation. The monitor I received had no dead/stuck pixels or backlight bleed. Initially, I noticed lots of pixel smearing while gaming but after about a half an hour or so, the smearing seems to have disappeared. I ensure that overdrive was enabled just to be safe. It seems that within a half an hour of waking/turning the monitor on, the panel will smear contrasting colors when there is heavy on-screen movement (gaming, videos, etc.) but smearing is minimized after warming up. I can live with that. The colors are bright and accurate after I used my DataColor Spyder5 Pro to calibrate the colors and gamma. Most monitors brightness is set too high at factory settings and this can quickly fatigue your eyes, along with over-emphasized blues. I would highly recommend calibrating monitors for brightness and color accuracy. I bought my Spyder5 Pro on eBay, used for $150. This may seem expensive but I have many monitors in my home that I have calibrated with this one time purchase. Best Buy offers an in-home service at the same price for only an hour of their time.

Beware, it does have some behaviors that will remind you that its still a $160 curved gaming monitor When its ON its ON. The screen looks great for the most part, and the Freesync mode works just fine with Nvidia using forced Adaptive sync features. As far as the image quality, its good, but its not enthusiast level good. Its definitely a good compromise given its price. Im not currently in the market for anything more expensive. Color response and depth is exactly what you pay for. As far as definition, its 100% a 1080p monitor. There are no features to improve or smooth more extreme image jitter. I imagine even it had them, they would be sluggish and probably be pretty bad looking anyways, so Im not even going to worry about not having them. Quirks are : Strange behavior in Overdrive mode with some machines. Monitor can and probably will restart for seemingly no reason. Screen takes to flickering for seemingly no reason even on the desktop. Turning the screen off and back on clears this problem. Unsure why it does this, or why that fixes it, but there you have it. Thats what it does. Menu transparency seems to be a sunny day feature. If you change the menu transparency you can see it change the transparency of the overlay. Close the menu and open it again and the transparency is gone. Settings still show it set at the value you set it at, but it doesnt recognize it unless you flip from 100% to 75% and back again. Close the overlay, open it, rinse and repeat. Works fine at 144hz Adaptive Sync. Currently no other issues. If a firmware update or something becomes available I might raise the rating. As it stands its exactly what you can expect from a $160 curved gaming monitor.

I just got this monitor today and it went up and running with out any problems I currently have it set to 122hz but it can run 144hz. The stand is good quality And the price for this is awesome. It is only the first day though so only time will tell if it will hold up. It also came with zero dead pixels from what I can tell. I personally think 1080p nowadays for 24 inches is pushing it though. If you have the money and your system can run it go for a 2k monitor.

bought this because i knew the upgrade from 60hz would be worth it over the decade of use ill get out of this. this thing is GREAT but ill list the negatives first: -lacking in picture quality (compared to anything IPS panel) -curve is very subtle and i dont notice it at all (arguably good because i didnt want it curved anyway) -speakers have a rather low maximum volume, often not being loud enough at max now the pros: +cheapest 144hz monitor out there, period +easy setup/installation, even comes with a decent mag tip philips screwdriver that ill be using on my pc in the future +did i mention how cheap this thing is? its crazy. any 144hz IPS monitor will easily cost you double this overall: if you arent a stickler for picture quality and perfect color etc but youre still trying to game, this is the solution.

This 24" curved VA panel looks really good after playing with the colors and settings. Buttery smooth 144Hz is yours on either the DP (cable included) or HDMI 2.0 and it is amazing just like everyone says. The logo on the back glows red and the system menu is ok but not bad. The stand is very sturdy and has a good snug tilting mechanism. The bezels are a tad wider than your led to believe but still not bad. It does have speakers but they are not great. There is only one screen protector and it peels off very easy. The other layer is the antiglare layer. Everything but the stand is plastic but If $159 gets you a clean 24" curved, 144Hz, 3ms, egde design, VA panel in a solid package then this is worth plugging into any budget gaming build.
