The image is great of course for color reproduction and glare reduction. Where it falls flat is in two areas. First is that the curve is not edge to edge. The curvature of the screen stops 6 inches from the sides, which means that if your eyes are not in the direct center of the screen the image appears to bend at the edges since the screen is only curved in the center 2/3 of the screen. Second is that it lacks modern ports (USB-c with power delivery) for a monitor released in 2019. Finally, it lacks a native VESA mount point, which limits it usability.

If you expect the best of the best, this is NOT it. The old saying of “you get what you pay for” is true here as well. While the stats seem impressive, the color rendering and the pixel per inch are not. This is a surprisingly large screen, we all can read the stats but having it on the desk, it surprised me with its massive size. While that seems like a good thing, it’s not. In the end a screen needs to hit the sweet spot between resolution - or better pixel per inch (ppi/dpi) for the intended viewing distance. On a normal desk you will end up sitting rather close to it, and if you have very good eyesight and have the expectation that this will feel like a Surface Laptop 2 or similar, then you’ll be disappointed. I have another Samsung 34 inch WQHD (so a bit shorter than full 4K but full 4K width) - and I like that one much more and at nearly twice the price of this screen here, I think I know now where that price difference comes from. The problem can be compounded if you use anything higher but the “100% dpi setting” in Windows. Now there are a couple of good things about it. Price, the curvature they chose is spot on to appear visually rectangular, number of connections is good, rear-connection cover. Overall a bit “cheap-plasticky” but that doesn’t really matter - so it is very light. If you just need an office screen, or actually just need a massive screen so you can fit more content while at the same time making it more accessible at a 200% dpi setting for people that have less than perfect eyesight - then this is a very good screen. This isn’t a glowing review but I also have decided to keep it and that means it’s not terrible, just not the best out there.

It a nice looking monitor. The picture looks OK but not getting 4k image just yet. The images provided by Samsung and shown on Amazon clearly show a MINI DisplayPort input so that’s what I ordered. I opened the box only to learn that it’s a regular display port. The monitor only comes with HDMI, which I have connected to a 1080p source (PS4). I assume most people, like me, have plenty of extra HDMI cables and would rather have the DisplayPort cable included. Now I need to order a DisplayPort cable since the description and picture were vague and misleading. Mostly Samsung’s fault and not Amazon’s. The upscaling from 1080p to 4k is OK, it not great. If you only have 1080p sources it’s probably not worth it. I will maybe update the review when I get the correct cable to connect it to my PC. The curvature is nice, but probably more gimmicky at a 16:9 ratio. It’s probably more immersive on a 21:9 ultra wide. In all it’s an OK monitor that probably isn’t worth $450-500.
