Before going over this monitors limitations, Id like to start by saying that, flaws aside-- it is a VA panel with decent colors and strong contrast, adequate pixel response times, and a high refresh rate. All of those are good things, and the superior contrast of VA panels alone makes the JG50 work considering if you arent going to be doing serious color work in addition to gaming. That being said-- the JG50 is a wonderfully cheap for a 1440P 144hz monitor, but coming to it from a series of 60hz 1440p panels used over the years I did find some aggravations. First off: the ergonomics are non-existent. The monitor IS VESA-compatible, thank goodness, but if youve been relying on included stands to get your desk set up just right you wont be able to with this display. Secondly: the image quality is pretty good, but could be better. Theres no garish oversaturation to non-HDR content with this screen (yay!), but SDR content seems a bit undersaturated at times compared to the other SDR-optimized screens Ive got to compare it too. Additionally, the default gamma definitely seems a bit washed-out: you can set it to "Mode2" in the "Color" submenu of the "Picture" menu for something more attractive, but with a bit of black crush. Finally, something about the monitors pixels makes the gaps between them unusually visible under certain circumstances. With busy or bright content its a non-issue, but on dark backgrounds (think the colors used by Steam or Discord) I can kind of see the gaps between pixels from a distance of ~2.5 feet. This doesnt *bother* me very much -- you can see this effect on practically any 1080p monitor or 32 QHD after all --but does seem sub-par since I know that there are other 27" QHD monitors which dont have this visual effect. tl;dr: strong basics, but dont expect a Rolls-Royce for the price of a Camry
