The monitor out of the box had really saturated colors and felt a bit off. Brightness at 100% wasnt too bright. I calibrated the monitor with a Spyder X and I was surprised with the results given this is a relatively cheap panel to perform this well. See pictures. Color gamut is really wide covering 96% of DCI-P3 color space!!! Also contrast is excellent when viewd straight up and not from an angle. What I couldnt stand is the contrast shifts from a slight angle especially on darker backgrounds like Photoshop and Visual studio that I use for work. That was a deal breaker for me but. I mistakenly thought this is an IPS panel. Decent for gaming and amazing for movie watching but for professional work I would say look elsewhere. Really impressed by the color gamut and accuracy, compared to $1000+ monitors.

Pros - UHD 4k @ 60Hz (Note: you must use HDMI port 2 (on monitor) if you want to run @ 60Hz) [read instruction manual] - Small footprint. Outer frame is narrow on sides (about 1/4") and top and slightly larger on bottom (about 1/2"). The monitor is not much larger than my Samsung 27" 1080P, which had a larger frame. - 31.5 of pure UHD at an affordable price - No noticeable light bleed - Text is crisp and clear Cons - Although the monitor supports a DisplayPort, it only came with an HDMI Cable Final thoughts: When you get the monitor, be sure to adjust the Dynamic Contrast to make the blacks darker. Also, I recommend setting the temperature to cool to make the background whites look whiter and less yellowish. Also, if you want to run at 60Hz, be sure to use monitor HDMI port 2. The following is a quote from the Samsung manual: ― To display 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz, use an HDMI cable that supports 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz to connect HDMI1. Make sure that the graphics card of the HDMI source supports 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz. ― To display 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz, use an HDMI cable that supports 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz to connect HDMI2. Make sure that the graphics card of the HDMI source supports 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. ― When connecting an HDMI cable, use the cable that came with the components of the monitor. If you use an HDMI cable other than provided by Samsung, the image quality may be degraded.

Nice monitor, worth the money for me to increase from 1920x1080 resolution. Picked this monitor since wanted the PIP feature, makes it easy to watch TV with aux speaker while working on the same screen. Only downside is i wish it had sound

Took me weeks to troubleshoot, sent back everything but the monitor since I only have one system to test with. After replacing the GPU and having the Razor box evaluated I finally tried to get resolution with Samsung. Samsung gave me the run around and then hung up, but Amazon came to the rescue. Amazon refunded my money and I bought an AOC which was cheaper and seems to be great.

Dont buy, spend less to get something better, or a little more. On arrival screen quality looks washed out, letters blurry, too light, cant darken. This is with an an uber extremely high quality HDMI cable with gold wiring that cost more than the monitor, and a Gigabyte/Radeon card (GIGABYTE Radeon RX 570 DirectX 12 GV-RX570GAMING-4GD 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card). With this non UHD card, my 1920x1080 monitor looks sharper, better than this. I would expect this monitor to work just fine, be sharp enough with a non-UHD card. Errantly thinking a better card would do, I go that route. I plop down the bucks, buy a 4K UHD card and have no luck getting the resolutions advertised. The monitor will not send to the card supported resolutions and so on installation, I am not able to select the resolutions advertised either through the Windows 10 display settings or the Nvidia graphics software shipped with the card. The choices are just not there. Creating a custom resolution of the advertised UHD (3840x2160), does not work at 30 hz or 60 hz, tried both HDMI ports (read here that HDMI 2 supports 60 hz). 2048x1536 @ 30 Hz was best I could do with the upgraded 4K UHD card (PNY Quadro P1000 VCQP1000-PB 4GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16). Samsung has really gone downhill, no quality control, just chuck it out there, ship this terd. Im sending the monitor back.

I purchased two of these monitors and am glad I did. They have a bright picture and makes my video and picture editing easier. Their size gives me a lot of detail and being setup as a dual monitor setup, I have a lot of screen real estate... I connect them by their DP connection straight to the video card on my pc, and they perform well. One of my favorite features is the joystick to navigate the menus. I was not sure if I would like that feature, but it makes that task intuitive thus very easy. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase...

I was using two 24 inch, 1080p, monitors to to display a heck of a lot of digital ham radio interface information. I need reading glasses and was a little worried that things would be harder to read on a 4k. I was happy to learn that I could easily display two 1080p monitors worth of data on this, with room to spare. The text is smaller (and scale-able) but the better contrast ration and resolution makes this clearer than my old monitors. I dont game, so I cannot comment on that part. For a good hi resolution this monitor is A#1 in my book. :)
