We previously had a 28 inch Samsung 720P TV / monitor (UN28H4500) with roughly 50 Pixels Per Inch (ppi) native resolution. Wanted to upgrade to a slightly bigger monitor, but a 32 inch at 1080p would only upgrade the resolution to roughly ~68 ppi. This monitor with the .27675mm dot pitch is almost 92 ppi which makes for a beautiful picture (after you get your graphics card to understand how to talk the 2560 / 1440 resolution....) A 32 inch UHD version (U32J590) at 137 ppi is a bit of an overkill for the ~2.5 foot viewing distance of a monitor but for only $50 more it may be a bragging rights option for many with graphics cards which support the resolution. You can search the internet for maximum discernible ppi at different viewing distances: Back to the S32D850T: The box is HUGE as, unlike most monitors, this one comes with an assembled and attached rather massive stand which supports height and viewing angle adjustment as well as rotation between landscape and portrait mode. Mine came with the wall mount adapter as well as ~5 ft HDMI, DP, and DVI cables (which may not be long enough for some so be sure to measure the cable length you need and order appropriately.) The monitor is rather heavy at almost 21 lb without the stand compared to the 8.2 lb of the Samsung UN28H4500. The wall mount adapter came with the 4 screws needed to attach the wall mount adapter to the back of the monitor after the stand was detached. The wall mount adapter has threaded holes for a VESA 200 x 200 mount. My previously purchased articulating mount kit from Amazon TV Wall Mount Fits Most 19"-55" LCD/LED/Flat Screens Up To 66 lbs. Full Motion Swivel Articulating Arm. Tilt, 20" Extension Arm, VESA 400x400, HDMI Cable And Bubble Level came with the 4 short screws needed to attach the mount to the wall mount adapter after it was screwed into the monitor. The entire unboxing, stand removal, wall mount adapter installation, and actual mounting to the existing articulating mount took roughly 1/2 hour. Then the fight began to get the graphics card to speak 2560 by 1440. It defaulted to 1920 by 1080 and the monitor did a great job of upconversion. After a while (and some cable changes) we prevailed and got the computer to display in the native 2560 / 1440 resolution. This is where I suspect most with older graphics cards might run aground, so it is a good idea to make sure your graphics card can support more than 1080p BEFORE your buy this or a UHD monitor. Otherwise you could just go with the gazillions of cheaper (~$200) 1080p 32" monitors. Bottom line. This monitor was the perfect balance of useable ppi and cost for our upgrade even if we dont take advantage of the portrait / landscape very adjustable stand.

I put a LOT of time into researching which monitor to choose. I wanted to move away from 2x 24" or 2x 27" monitors and into the realm of one really nice monitor that took up less desk space while still providing enough real estate to view 2 or 3 windows at the same time. I use this monitor for work and school, so the wide screen monitors wouldnt be best because they are mostly designed for gaming. Money was also not an issue. I was willing to spend up to $1,000, so this monitor at below $400 was a "low budget" choice. I was worried that I would "get what I paid for" by opting for a monitor with lower resolution than 4k. All that said, this is the nicest, highest quality monitor Ive ever had or even seen. The 2560 x 1440 resolution is PERFECT for office and school use. The finish is also amazing. The monitor looks great from any angle. Another reason I got this monitor is that the back looks so good. Usually a monitor is up against a wall and that doesnt matter, but because of my office set up the back of the monitor is facing the door. The monitor adjusts up/down, left/right, and tilts better than any other monitor Ive had or seen. This is better than any other monitor set up, was very affordable for all the features youre getting (loads of peripheral connections, and supports HDMI, DP, and DVI), and looks great. I dont usually write reviews, especially when there are already so many others already written, but I wanted to support this monitor and convince other discerning customers like myself that this monitor is the way to go.

Fantastic. For a WQHD monitor, 32" is certainly the way to go. As far as I can tell the display is flawless (no dead pixels, no variance in brightness, etc.). It ships with the monitor stand already attached, and includes hardware to wall-mount if thats your preference. Plus, it comes with 3 different types of cables--HDMI, DVI, and Display Port. The USB 3.0 hub on the back is a nice bonus and the ports can be configured to be fast-charging for phones, etc., that support that. The stand allows tilting up and down, left and right, raising and lowering (about 8 inches, I think--didnt measure it), and rotation between landscape and portrait. (In portrait mode the thing is super-tall; maybe some applications can use that--I dont.) Great monitor!

I had been using the standard 1080 monitors and then used the QHD format on a smaller sized Samsung on a business trip where that is the standard. I loved it. I did a little research which said that 30 inch was optimal. I had this ordered before I returned (from Finland) on this trip. Now the standard 1080s I use at work are very limiting. The big advantage for someone writing code is you can display much more in the vertical dimension and understand it a lot more much faster and you can put another file that you might be referencing on the side of the same monitor in similar resolution. Using IDEs which have a great many windows this helps also. Color is very striking and I guess I need to buy one for the vacation house where I also telecommute from. I have been using a 24 inch secondary on the side, which seems to strain my video card, especially my work laptop which I KVM into this arrangement. I since I do a lot of Photoshop, Premier and Indesign I think the flat monitor is best.

I have owned a LOT of monitors in my 25+ years in the computer industry and this one is by far the best I have ever had. Lets get the shocking size out of the way, WOW this thing is huge! 32" is massive. My previous monitors were 27", this monster dwarfs them. My previous monitors were great for gaming but horrible for graphics work and they had a lot of light bleed. This monitor has outstanding color reproduction, 100% SRGB complient and required very little tweaking out of the box. I turned the dynamic lighting off as it annoys me when it dims in and out (as do all monitors with it turned on) and I turned up the contrast just a little to compensate. Just out of curiosity I ran my Spyder color calibrator on it and it did not need any calibrations at all, colors were spot on. No light bleed at all and no dead/stuck pixels. My graphics work color is dead on, no more guessing if the color will turn out right. I was a little concerned about gaming on it but I was happy to learn there is no perceivable ghosting plus with the higher resolution, color and no back bleeding light my games look amazing now (plus it is almost like gaming on a massive big screen). Make sure that if you are using Display Port to change the monitor option to 1.2, mine changed automatically so that was not a problem for me. I dont use the USB hub so I cant vouch for it. The monitor controls are on the front making any adjustments nice and each to do. It came with all cables for all imputs, VESA wall mount bracket and driver disk. I am very pleased with this monitor

Let me start by saying how happy I am with the picture quality of this monitor. No eye strain from pwm (pulse width modulation) of the backlighting like my previous monitor. Maybe Samsung uses DC to control it. The only adjustment I did is turn the brightness down to 50% and magic upscale to mode 1. I am completely happy with the picture to my eyes. Im using DVI as the input and have not tested any of the other connections or usb hub. I was worried I would have to buy a new video card because of what other reviewers had said about using a stout video card. That was not the case at all for me. The computer hardware I use is a AMD 64 athlon x2, 3GB ram, running xp built by me in 2006. Geforce 9600gt from 2008. Experiencing no slow down. I dont game so cant speak for that. Where this monitor blew me away is in viewing pictures. It is so good I now carry my camera with me wherever I go. The detail to my eyes is incredible. Maybe the sheer size right in your face has a bit to do with it also. Now for the unacceptable manufacturing of my unit. Brand new in box. Four light scratches on the screen, one of which is 2 inches long. Can only see them when the monitor is off. Bezel is not flush with panel on the bottom, varying 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap in a wave/bulge pattern except 1 in. on each side. Small impact ding on the front of the base. You got to be kidding me. How can this possibly make it through QC. What a disservice they did to this monitor. Three stuck black pixels and a very small area that looks gray on a white background (I think this is still within Samsungs acceptable specs according to their web site) and cant tell in normal use. It would be very easy for the seller to blame the customer for the scratches and impact ding of these defects and hope I am not the one getting blamed. Now I have to deal with getting this fine monitor replaced without additional cost to me. Update Edit: The only option I had was to return with no exchange available on the return page. Thankfully it was hassle free. The day I was dropping off the monitor to the shipper a different seller had this monitor for a price approaching a cheaper brand, significantly less for a few hours. Yeah! Unfortunately I can only raise from two stars to three because even though the gap between the panel and bezel was a little better it is still noticeable especially above the control buttons. Samsung seems to be having a manufacturing process problem they might not know about unless they are just letting the units pass anyway. Im hanging on to this one because the gap is usually only noticeable when the monitor if off and no defective pixels. I am happy with the panel and controls. The PIP mode is handy for my video surveillance system.

Honestly the best monitor Ive used, so much so I want to ditch the two Samsung 24" monitors I have next to this one and replace them with another one of these 32" monitors. The design is beautiful and sleek, the viewing angles superb, the color is on point, and the multiple connectivity options is everything Ive needed. I use this monitor primarily for my PC, but also for my Xbox One through HDMI. Its easy to change over to my Xbox and back to my PC. Very little hassle. The extra quality is a must. I waited for ages to buy a 32" monitor because I didnt want to lowball it with a 1920x1080 screen. Ive used them before and the quality just isnt good enough for this size of a monitor. I was nervous to get a 4k screen at this size because I knew it would ultimately just shrink everything down too small in attempt to cram all those pixels into the 32 inches. Also 4k is still insanely overpriced for my budget. This monitor offers the perfect resolution, in my opinion. It looks great at close range and from far away. Seriously though, an amazing monitor. As a hard core gamer and web-developer, I want nothing more from a monitor than what this one gives me.

To start off, I ended up exchanging this monitor for the $450 Samsung C32HG70 because the 60Hz refresh rate was a very noticeable downgrade from my old 1080p 120Hz monitor in games. But, if youre not gaming, this thing is magnificent. It arrived without a single dead pixel, vibrant colors, and great packaging. The CHG70 is the same, so props to Samsung for QC. It also comes with all the cables you could ever need for it. The bezel is one of the thickest Ive seen, but its not obnoxious and the brushed metal finish looks quite nice. The stand is excellent - it feels sturdy, doesnt have a massive footprint, and gives you a ton of freedom with the monitor. The buttons on the bottom right feel a little mushy and hard to press, but youll hardly use them and they look nice, so who cares? I upgraded from my 17" 120Hz 1080p laptop display, the largest monitor Ive ever used being 24". 32" is *a lot*, but its also amazing. When I first unboxed it, I was hesitant about the size, but after using it Im worried Ill never be able to go back to 24". Combined with the 1440p resolution, theres a *ton* of screen space, which is very useful for multitasking and having multiple windows open, like for college work or coding (my coding productivity has gone through the roof thanks to this monitor). Overall, if youre gaming, Id recommend the $150 upgrade to the C32HG70, but for anyone else, this is a fantastic monitor that will destroy expectations.

I have two of the S32D850T monitors in my home office setup using my SurfaceBook dock and its the best monitor Ive owned. Period. I tried out two others including an LG 34" Ultrawide QHD and a 32" Samsung Curved QHD and ended up taking both back. Though mine are now on fully-articulating wall mounts, these are amazing using the stand which is spring loaded to make height, angle and landscape/vertical swap seamless. Picture quality is amazing, not too bright or exaggerated as you get with some Samsung monitors or too dim as I found with the LG Ultrawide. Build quality on this shows and the number of video connections is great. Note: It comes with a wall mount adapter but some have confused this as the actual wall mount. Let me clarify now that this simply allows users attach this to a VESA compliant mount so theres an extra cost there (as with any monitor). Trust me, buy it and dont look back.

This is day 2 of owning the monitor and so far, I extremely happy with the decision to purchase. The monitor is BIG and is great for what I use it for which is mainly coding software. I spend a ridiculous amount of time in front of my computer and a monitor this size with this resolution will definitely help alleviate the eye strain. Unpacking was easy. The monitor essentially came fully assembled and the only thing I had to do was to unwrap and connect. Setup was a little tricky but mostly because of me not ensuring the DisplayPort cable was pushed securely into the port on the back of the monitor. ( It took about 20mins before I decided to check this... :-( ) But after I properly secured the port, my world came alive in 2560 x 1440 brilliance and nothing else mattered!!! I am by no means an expert when it comes to color reproduction or topics surrounding this, however IMHO, the colors are beautiful; very rich, very vivid. The ease in which the monitor tilts, swivels and rotates is almost effortless. I love having the larger area to work within as most times, I have several instances of VS opened at the same time along with SSMS so having a larger resolution monitor facilitates this. All-in-All, I love this monitor and enjoy working in front of it.
