This is a review on 23.8" IPS FreeSync model (246E9QDSB). As some people are complaining about the poor viewing angle, I believe it. If you are going to place this monitor where your head is going to be positioned directly in front of the screen, you should be fine. If you are going to place it where people will look up or down, you may not like it. The screen looks dark when you look at it from the side. For those of you who are planning to attach a VESA mount for the monitor arm, those holes on the back are for 75x75mm. Most of the VESA mounting bracket comes with 75x75 and 100x100mm ready, but if you look at my picture in the attachment, you will know that the bracket has to stick out. Depending on the shape of your bracket, it can completely block the access for the cable connections. Once I turned on my computer and noticed that the texts and pictures are not so crisp. After I installed the driver for the monitor, it took care of the problem. You can google "Philips 246E9QDSB" and find the download link under support on the product website. Readme text file included in the driver folder will tell you how to install it.

The monitor, Model 246E9QDSB/27, ordered with free shipping, arrived six days after the order was placed. It was in top condition due to manufacturers styrofoam inside a strong box inside an Amazon box. The monitor setup was easy and I used the DVI connection. I was very taken aback when I turned the unit on and got a full color, brilliant display that was decidedly better than the monitor I replaced. Overall I am very pleased with the performance so far. The ISP screen is very applicable to our family needs as we frequently Skype with our grandchildren. Two of us sit side-by-side, dividing the screen, and each of us has a great view due to the very wide viewing angle (178 deg). I believe gamers might find this monitor to be very adequate but have not tried it for gaming use. There is absolutely no apparent flicker and the Low Blue Light setting gives a very normal brightness for almost all of our normal viewing needs. Toggling between Low Blue Light and Normal Light mode is a quick and simple procedure once you locate and learn the function of the single switch (see comment below). There are a few items that I will note. First, although the monitor does comply with the VESA mounting standard (in this case, 75mm by 75mm) for monitor mounting, I could not use my very flexible tilt and rotate desktop monitor stand I had anticipated using because the input fittings which extend out perpendicular from the monitor back, both DVI and VGA, interfere enough with the stand column as to prevent the use of the stand. I could use HDMI for this model number but to do so would require some challenging cabling mods for my particular setup. Secondly, the on/off and mode selector switch is rather cryptically described in the manual. I finally found the switch and discovered that it was a multi-function toggle-type switch located at the bottom center of the monitor back. The diagramatic instructions should be augmented by stating in words, "The on/off and multi-function toggle-type switch is located about one inch from the bottom center of the monitor back. This switch is used for selecting the monitor functions and for making monitor adjustments." Thirdly, there was no CD or DVD included with the order. I went online to the Phillips website under Support, downloaded the driver file and User Manual and easily found the latest driver with the helpful instruction as to how to verify that the generic Windows 10 driver was being used and instruction as to how to install and verify that the correct driver had been installed. I consider these to be minor critics. In short, I am very pleased with this high-quality, very modern and up-to-date monitor...good job Phillips!

Definitely a good deal here. Friend needed a decent monitor for a budget gaming build... found this and it fit the bill perfectly. For one, its got a decent IPS panel. Another thing is the exterior is very pleasant. Almost non-existent bezels, a nice looking base, and simple controls round out the exterior. The fact that it has FreeSync is just icing on the cake. Now granted, its not a high refresh rate monitor, but for a budget build, Id be hard-pressed to find a nicer monitor. This compared very closely to an Acer gaming monitor of almost exact same specs, but the Acer was costlier.

After reading some reviews on here, there was some conflicting information regarding whether or not the monitor had built in speakers. I got the monitor and plugged in a working HDMI cable and was able to get everything connected but there was no sound. Called tech support and they referred me to the model number: 246E9QDSB. Turns out that this particular model does not have built in speakers. I was confused because the manual that I found online from the Philips website states on page 13, under convenience, that there are two built in speakers for the unit. BUT the speakers are only built into the 246E9QJA model. The back of the monitor looks like it has vents/ports for speakers, but the tech said that was because they use the same shell as the 246E9QJA for the 246E9QDSB, but do not incorporate the speakers. Not the end of the world, as there is a convenient HDMI audio out port on the back for desktop speakers (which I likely would have used anyways). Just make sure that you know which model number you are getting if having built-in speakers is a must.

As my third PC monitor, I am incredibly impressed! I own a 24 inch Dell Ultra Thin 2019 Hi Def Beauty, as well as a 23 inch HP Pavilion. But no kidding, I am in love with my new 32 inch Philips Curved PC monitor. Correctly set the settings and the colors will jump out as promised. One warning, be cautious in the main set-up, or you may believe that you have a defective monitor. Play until you capture perfection! This is one of the best monitors I have had for this price range... you cannot get any better. Just make sure you set it up correctly, towards your standards of course! Hope that this honest review helps Tech enthusiast, such as myself!

Oh my god this was the worst horrible terrible. Pixellated text and horrible and made me dizzy and the worst and bad and not good and bad too. Are you thinking about buying this as a computer monitor? I recommend that you do not. Dont read the description they provide, trust me - its not a computer monitor. No no no no jn no. Oh my god no. God forbid. Please ono. Dont even think about it. On the other hand it is an attractive piece of hardware, aesthetically I mean. But as a computer monitor? I think you already know what I think of it - I think it is not good for this. Do not try at home.

Honestly I almost exchanged it after I discovered that 1080p is a little lacking on the resolution-side for a monitor as big as 27 inches. You do get a little bit of pixelation on some things when viewing it close, but you probably already know if youd notice it or not. I was planning to upgrade to a QHD 1440p monitor, get the image a little more crisp, but those who have trouble reading small text may not want to go beyond 1080p anyway… But I just couldnt part with it for the $150 price, and maybe end up with something more expensive I hated. Even when I move on eventually for bigger specs, I made sure my wife would love it as a second monitor, because its a deal. Im no expert on IPS monitors, but I spend some time in the video, graphic, design worlds, and can say that the colors and picture on this are excellent, very true. Stunning. It is adequate for gaming, no more no less. The 75hz keeps it smooth enough, the vibrant colors make up for the imperfections of the resolution, which you cant even notice if you sit more than a couple feet away (which you can, its a comfortably big monitor). Everything seems well built on it. It has its limitations that it can only tilt (and as other reviews said, you may have trouble with some of the mounts), but I love the low profile screen. For $150, you just cant beat it for a good IPS monitor. You wont know what vibrant colors you were missing until you have one, and this is a good one to not blow your budget.

The instructions that come with this monitor are about three pages of graphical, non-verbal instructions, which makes them more than a little hard to figure out. The first thing I discovered was that the one "button" on this monitor is behind the Philips logo, on the back of the monitor. This isnt illustrated clearly at all, so be aware. The off-axis viewing of this monitor is a bit lacking, which is surprising for an IPS display. Its not dramatically bad, but its noticeable, and definitely worse than my IPS display from 4-5 years ago. That said, the base is well made -- all metal, but I didnt actually use it. Im using the VESA mount, which works fine. The instructions didnt cover how to remove the "stalk" part of the base when using mounting it with the VESA mount, but its not rocket science to figure out. Just pop off the cover on the back, and undo the screws holding the stalk. Overall it looks good enough for my purposes.

Two bad monitors. Got a replacement unit and the panel of the new unit had similiar issues. Massive quality control issues here. Look elsewhere—do not buy! Id give it zero stars if I could.

So disappointed with these. Stayed up super late to get them mounted for my new dual monitor setup. I cannot believe how bad they are. The viewing angle made me actually have to check whether or not I mistakenly bought a TN panel instead of IPS. If I move my head 4" to either side, the colors change, sort of grey out, just like a TN panel would. Then there is having two of them side by side. The colors are SO off, I thought maybe one had its brightness way down from the factory for some reason... nope. Identical settings, just inconsistent panels. While unboxing these, (replacing my single 27" acer because it has no vesa mount) I thought how now these are so inexpensive compared to the last one I bought, but they are not inexpensive, they are CHEAP. Now we get to start on the re-boxing process tomorrow... uggghhh...
