I also purchased LG UD58 ips 4k monitor which has very similar price range, so I did side by side comparison on these two. Philips 276E8 does not have VESA mount so that could be a huge downside for monitor arm goers, but it has a few advantages over LG’s competitive model. (1) Far thinner bezel: You won’t find a 4k monitor with this thin bazel at this price point. LG mode has pretty thick bezel. (2) Image quality: Excellent. Professional reviewers on Youtube also released the results that it is better than LG u58 4k monitor. (3) Light and thin: it is thinner and lighter (4) Loudspeaker for sound I would say at this point, Feb-2019, I can say with a confidence that this is the best 4k monitor under $300. I ve purchased 3 others but this one is the best. 5 stars.

I was looking for an affordable 4K monitor and this one is great for the price. Pros: -4K resolution + IPS + 10-bit color from a brand Ive at least heard of before AND less than $300--its the only monitor I know of with all of those -Much brighter plus much more accurate colors than my previous monitor! -Sturdy metal base -The top and side bezels of the monitor are super thin--maybe around 1 cm. The panel itself is quite thin, too Cons: -Others have pointed out the lack of VESA compatibility but I personally wasnt planning on mounting my monitor anyway. My last monitor also wasnt VESA compatible. Either way, if its a must-have, look elsewhere. Other Thoughts: -4K is probably a little overkill for a 27" screen, but 1) its a new standard for TV/etc. (as opposed to 1440p) plus I do watch movies and broadcast TV through my monitor, and 2) the main reason I got it was actually for sharp text in large spreadsheets that I put together for work, and this is rocks for that. Its WAYYYY better than my last monitor (a 23" 1080p HP monitor) in that regard! And 3) for things like gaming you can set the resolution to something like 1440p -Its "only" 60 Hz--obviously; the thing is, 1) a 4K monitor pushing, say, 144 Hz is currently hundreds and hundreds of dollars more--literally. And 2) even if the monitor had the capability, virtually no video cards today could push out those types of frame rates at that resolution with todays latest games, so no real point, at least not for a few years. -I have to admit that I myself am not a massive expert who has compared dozens of the latest high-tech monitors. Im primarily just comparing this to my previous 1080p HP monitor, and this one blows it out of the water, so Im happy with the purchase!

Beautiful screen, almost bezel less. Picture is sharp, and clear. Only downside is, if you use it at full 4K ( 30Mhz , there is no 60Mhz ) you get significant mouse lag, to a point where it becomes annoying. Youll have to scale down to 2K resolution where you have the 60Mhz rate, and there is no lag. Still pretty sharp picture, but not the 4K you paid for.

I searched for the best large monitor and settled on this 27" beauty. I needed to replace a 30 inch dell monitor that died after many years of service. I admit I am spoiled and small monitors just frustrate me. This monitor is very light for its size and the stand is sturdy. I roll my desk around on a wire cart but my keyboard is on my lap so no wobbling while typing. I do think if your desk isnt really sturdy you may have an issue while typing. I dont game unless playing secondlife virtual game counts...which is rendered beautifully. Text is clear and easy to read AND it doesnt throw off a lot of heat like my previous monitor so that was a BIG plus. I was a bit concerned with only 2 reviews..at this price... but I am not disappointed. It is a very nice monitor and will fill the needs of the average user very well.

Love this monitor so far. Going through old pictures and they look better than they ever have. I bought this monitor specifically for the incredible color range for photography and graphics work and it is living up to what I wanted. Games look great as well. Had a problem at first but it was of my own creation and I solved it quickly. After hooking up the monitor via an hdmi cable that I used for my previous monitor, I couldnt find the proper 2560x1440 resolution in the Windows 10 display settings. I tried creating the resolution custom but everything was blurry. It then occurred to me that my older hdmi cable might not be rated high enough to handle the higher resolution, so swapped it out with the hdmi cable that came in the box with the monitor and the problem was solved.

The monitor is nice and bright. It is also quite clear. Even if you come from better than Full-HD to 4K, youll like the crispness -- at least once you get used to figuring how to make your fonts bigger. Havent used all the features, yet. Will enjoy having two computers hooked up side-by-side on the same monitor, when I do. But hey, a 4K monitor for $280, its almost a winner. This monitor is bright and pretty. Of course, one will have to debate whether a 4K TV with some terrible AI installed is what youd rather have -- those are cheaper for VESA mountable larger screens. It is quite stylish with its non-VESA base. Yet, that is its major problem. It was designed so that you buy this one, and later, when you find you really want it mounted, you buy another. VESA is the standard for mounts that manufactures tend to use if they want to allow their monitors to sell well in the corporate or in-the-know home market. There does not seem to be any lag on how well it shows images. There is no blurring or ghosting with normal office work or simple games. Ive not tried it with real games requiring a GPU other than what Intel does on the CPU. There is the nice feature that it warns the user that burn in may occur if the same image is displayed for long periods of time. It actually mentions 30 minutes as the time. It gives that warning almost as soon as it detects a video mode about to cause burn in. Its kind of a disembodied floating text box. Ive used it with both Mac OS X and with Pop!_OS. The picture shown is that of a game, Bomber, played on Pop!_OS. If using a Gnome based User Interface, I suggest that you use Backslide with only a five minute change of the background picture to help avoid burn in. When the Pop!_OS login screen shows up for X-Windows it tends to make the monitor go black if there is no user interaction. When using a Macbook Pro, or likely any other modern Mac, youll need to have a HDMI 2 to Thunderbolt converter. There are a ton of those around. So, if you dont like having a converter, then, youll likely not want this monitor. If you are anywhere near two meters tall, then, youll want to have something to raise up the monitor so to keep good posture. Cause, youll not be happy with the non-adjustable mount for the monitor. At the time of this review, I have used the monitor for about 13 hours. Most of them doing textual work. I bought it just before the next wave of trade-war with China tariffs hit and as it was first offered on Amazon. The following are the features Ive not tried yet: 1.) LowBlue 2.) MultiView 3.) DisplayPort 4.) More than one HDMI

I replaced an old Samsung 1080p monitor with this when I got my 1080 TI. HOLY SMOKES WHAT A DIFFERENCE. the TN panel makes a huge difference. Very little backlight bleed. Overall, I love it.

No complaints. The resolution is good. It’s easy on the eyes when used for spreadsheets, charts, graphs, etc. The design of the stand and monitor is very nice (nicer than the usual/standard “industrial” look of most monitors). No problems with bright pixels. No problems with back lighting bleeding through. We were concerned about these problems possibly being caused due to the shipping process (sometimes shippers are tough on heavier packages, in particular packages containing sensitive electronics can have unseen internal damage). But there are no problems like this at all. We’ve used this with two laptops (one is a Dell that is about 1 year old and one is a Toshiba that is about 3 years old) and it was plug and play without any trouble for both. We are so far very happy with this monitor.

Received this monitor with 2 dead pixels. Second unit also had dead pixels so I ended up returning it and gettin instead a TN panel. This is the first and last time that I get a monitor from Philips. This VA panel exhibited massive ghosting. I noticed the ghosting on both units so I know I’m not crazy. It’s specially noticeable when you are playing a dark game like The Witcher 3 or shadow of tomb raider but also in fast paced games. I tried everything to try to solve the ghosting, better DP cables, played around with the fast response setting and nothing. This monitor is not for gaming. Colors are excellent and I liked the size of the monitor but the ghosting Is so bad that it makes me not want to play on my PC. Tom’s hardware and other reviews in the internet said that this monitor is excellent for gaming but I don’t believe that. Check the IGN review about this monitor, they mentioned a lot about the ghosting, wish I would have read the IGN review earlier, it would have saved me some stress. Dell S2719DGF is a much better alternative. You have been warned.

This is a very nice monitor! I was looking for a 32" curved monitor, but the only ones within my budget were 1080p monitors with mixed reviews. Too many people complaining about pixel density and fuzzy text. I decided to look for 2K monitors and found this one with a coupon that put it right in my price range. Im extremely happy I went with this one! No dead or stuck pixels. Colors are rich and beautiful. Blacks are outstanding. Out of the box its way to bright, but a little tweeking with the settings and its perfect. I did have to order a good display port cable to get it to run at the 75Htz refresh rate smoothly, but that was only $10 and well worth it. The stand went together easily in a matter of seconds and is very stable. The stand is made of nice thick aluminum and looks great as well. Overall, I totaly recommend this monitor!
