Most games dont have HDR, and only some that do look a bit better with HDR enabled. The killer feature of this thing is to use it with a high-end DP cable, and run it at 165hz. I used to have a dell gaming monitor that cost 3X as much when I bought it some time ago, which only does 144hz. You can see the difference in FPS games between 144hz and 165hz. It is smoother and less motion blur. Unfortunately HDR doesnt get picked up by windows when using a DP cable, and FREE-SYNC only works over DP and not HDMI. The HDMI HDR option seems to hit a maximum of 144hz on the cable I tested. The built in speakers is a nice touch, allowing you to have one less thing connected to your PC, as the sound travels over either HDMI or DP cable. The screen is very light, but can be mounted on something like the Amazon Basics Monitor Arm for better adjustability. (although the included VESA screws are a bit long for the holes on this puppy, you probably will need to use shorter mounting screws, although in practice this is not a problem) The fact that this thing uses a 12V DC brick to power it is interesting but not a problem, the input is still your standard desktop type power cable that can carry either 110v/220v. The monitor also has a special HDR-mode button, which is pretty useless for most content as far as I have tested, just use the HDR as is by enabling it in your windows display settings, or for most things, just ignore HDR and game at 165hz. 165hz QHD DOOM with everything on ULTRA works well on GTX 1080ti with 8700k, keeps VSYNC permanently locked at 164/5. Same for many other games, which makes me think, maybe my next monitor should be 200 hz.

Pros: Price Features: 165hz on DP 144hz on DVI and HDMI. Freesync (w freesync on can enable gsync on gsync capable video cards) Cons: Colors - cannot get them right (in my opinion) comes out at best a bit faded looking. Best to try to get the colors right via game or application or windows settings. HDR- everything looks washed out colors look better but washed out blurry look. Source button - annoying to change source other monitors clicking source a few times will switch the inputs but on this monitor you have to click source then use the volume buttons to navigate to which input you want then hit the menu button to select that input. A bit cumbersome and annoying. Overall: Decent monitor for the price some annoyances like trying to get the colors right and essentially unable to really utilize HDR. Everything else seems to work fine have had this monitor for almost 2 months now. The power plug is non us but if you have a monitor or power supply plug already just use that not a biggie.

I just got the monitor tested the 165hz, 1440p and freesync and they all worked just fine. I was in the middle of trying to calibrate the colors when the screen flickers and the bottom left area just stopped working. It seems like the backlight or something failed. I attempted to reset it and unplug it for a few hours and it still didnt work. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning this and going to a UPS drop off location. Really, really terrible monitor.

Great for gaming, but not for photo/video work. 1440 is a major upgrade from 1080 and the high refresh rate is amazing. Stand is decent, not too much mobility but gets the job done and looks decent. The colors are okay if you take the time to tweak the color settings. Out of the box it doesn’t look good, but after taking the time to dial in the colors it works well for gaming. Do not buy this for the HDR, all it does is blow the saturation way up, like if the scale is 0 to 100, HDR cranks it up to 500. All in all, if you’re looking to upgrade your gaming experience it’s worth it, but look somewhere else for photo/video editing.

This is an amazing monitor! Ive never written a review on Amazon before, but I took a gamble with this Korean monitor and it has exceeded my expectations so far. I agree with other users that the HDR and speakers are bad. Thats ok because no really uses monitor speakers for gaming anyway, and you are better off using mods like SweetFX to enhance your gaming experience. I was kinda disappointed there was only one HDMI port, but thats my fault for not reading the specs ahead of time. Coming from a 1080p 60hz monitor, 1440p 165hz is incredible. Im never going back. Everything is so smooth! If you have a newer Nvidia card, 10 series or RTX series, freesync/gsync compatibility works on this monitor! My monitor has no issues and no dead pixels. Now Im excited for the day these specs can be applied to a 4k monitor for a reasonable price.

It’s the best bang for the buck monitor. 1440p 165hz for $264 is the best deal I’ve had ever had on amazon. I have a i7 8700k , Gtx 1080 , 16gb of ram, and a 1tb ssd and battlefield 1 feels amazing at 165hz at 165 FPS in 1440p. The cons about this monitor is that power brick and the power cord. I wouldn’t use that power cable , it looks like a fire hazard. The power brick gets REALLY HOT. I’m thinking about replacing it later. But so far the monitor has impressed me so far coming from a 1080p 60hz monitor and seeing 165hz vs 60hz was a crazy experience. But hdr does works fine it’s just u have to adjust a lot in built in monitor setting and Freesync works amazing with the new Nvidia drivers. So I give it 5 stars due to the performance of the monitor and not the accessories of the monitor.

Aaaaaamazing. Saw this blogged about in a ‘PCGamer’ article online and though, ‘eh, why the hell not.’ Watched A LOT of Linus Tech Tips on YouTube and knew that some of these Korean brand monitors can be pretty great, but was still skeptical. Can confirm this works EXACTLY as advertised: 1440p @ 165hz using DisplayPort 1.4. Already had a DP 1.4 cable that I bought from Amazon a couple weeks ago, so I was set. Also, I already owned a spare monitor power cable from my old monitor, so I didn’t have to worry about that weird Korean plug and its adapter. Having a GTX 1070, I was able to enable G-Sync/FreeSync in the nVidia control panel and set my refresh rate to 165hz. WHOA DAMN, is it responsive! I had 03 asus monitors running at 60hz before this, so it is weeeeird (and awesome) having my primary run at more than double that. I did try the HDR and just like everyone’s already pointed out, it sucks. Just stuck with the monitor defaults. My ONLY COMPLAINT has to do with the VESA mount. It does have the ability to hook up to a standard VESA mounting bracket, HOWEVER, it doesn’t come with the screws (or at least mine didn’t). Fortunately, I had some spare hardware I was able to use to get it secured, but note to anyone with a duel or triple monitor setup (and you’re mounted), you’ll likely need to make a quick trip to your nearest hardware store to find the right size screws. So, tl;dr : Totally worth it for the price. Make sure you purchase a DisplayPort 1.4 cable and enable g-sync/freesync in your nvidia control panel, while setting the refresh rate to 165hz. Also, if mounting, purchase correct screws for VESA mount. Seriously, using this monitor makes me feel like Morty experiencing ‘True Level,’ everything else just seems crooked and wrong. -Mike

What people say about the power block is true, it does get pretty hot. What people say about the HDR is true too, its garbage and should be removed as a feature. The stand tends to lean the monitor downward and is not adjustable. This is a minor problem and easily Jerry rigged. However the monitor does get up to 165 FPS. The TN display is what all TN displays are. Garbage unless looked at, at the right angle. Great for gaming but acceptable at best for normal PC use. Whites tend to turn yellow if not looking at the screen at the right angle. Im only on day 3 of the monitor so just be wary. Ive given you an honest assessment as of its performance so far. I will be mounting this monitor in a semi-truck in a couple days. That will be a good torture test for the longevity of this monitor as many TV/monitors tend to not last long with all the vibration of being mounted in a vehicle. Will update review in a month if Amazon allows.

So i went from 27 inch 1080p 1 ms 60 hz to this 27 inch 1440p 1 ms 165 hz and im kinda dissapointed. Idk if im doing somthing wrong but the colors just seem really bad compared to my old monitor (which was an asus i forget which one tho) and its not because of the hdr or anything. The hdr on this monitor actually blows. It is 1440p and 165 hz confirmed and also the power cable is some weird chinese plug thing with some weird adapter on it which could potentially be a fire hazard idk. Only wanted to give this a try because it so damn cheap compared to everything else with the sameish specs. DO NOT get this lol just spend 200 more dollars for somthing with the same specs but with better quality and reliability. ALSO the stand it comes with doesnt move in any direction and when it first comes in the mail its tilted really far forward so yea lol. IF u got any questions just ask :P ill tell u my experience. <3 hold up my monitors response time is 5.6 seconds lol? false advertising? maybe? who knows.

Great display for the price. Irrespective of some other reviews, HDR does work with this monitor (and looks fantastic) but only with an HDMI HDR capable cable. The specs for the monitor is Display Port 1.2, which is not HDR capable. The cable that comes with the monitor is DP so if you want HDR, youll need to get an HDR HDMI cable, enable HDR on the monitor via its setup menu, plus enable it in Windows (Control Panel -> Display Settings). However. I have two issues with HDR: 1) For some reason I have to turn HDR off and then back on everytime the monitor goes to sleep or powers off and back on, otherwise, HDR is off even though it shows on 2) The mouse cursor turns transparent when it changes to the I-beam cursor when entering text so it is hard to seen on white backgrounds (as most text entry areas are). This may be a driver issue but I havent been able to fix it.
