I do enjoy the size and resolution of this monitor for both work and play, but after having my IDE (programming environment) up during the day while I work, it retains the image for an extended period of time afterwards. I paid over $700 for this monitor, it shouldnt be doing this. It leaves artifacts all over the place of windows Ive had up.

I really really wanted to like this monitor, and I did in the beginning when everything was fine. I bought this monitor in june ... only after 3 months now I have a blue line on the right side of the monitor

I think it is a great gaming monitor. I play Overwatch about 90% of the time when I do play. I have an EVGA 1080sc with ICX cooling. Remember the ACX was having overheat issues. So they went overboard. Playing Overwatch the card runs in the 55 degree Celcius range no matter how long I play. I have MAX frames set @ 144. And it sits right on 144 frames, with settings set to epic, except "antialiasing". LOL, I was thinking about getting another 1 and play with 2<--- overkill? maybe. But Im old, and my desk is big enough. Battlenet: rquasar#1504

WOW! What a difference. This monitor is simply amazing. Going from a 60hz, TN panel, 22 inch Samsung LED monitor to this is beyond description! The colors, expansive view and quality is top notch. I have absolutely no backlight bleed (common with IPS panels) and using G-Sync and a high refresh rate of 166Hz makes the world a better place! The monitor arrived in time as scheduled and in great shape. Pricing through Amazon was the best.

A solid product. But just get a high-end card to avoid the 300 dollars g-sync chip baked in to monitor. The Freesync verisin of this product is cheaper. When considering your build options.

I dont want to knock the monitor too much. I knew what I was getting into. 1440 vs 1080.. I picked my side, 1080 would be fine.. I mostly use my monitor for gaming. Now having had this for some time I would not choose 1080 again. 1440 is the way to go. I dont notice the 144hz (or 166hz OC) framerate (from previous 60) as much as i notice the drop is resolution. This is too big for 1080. Its still very well made and really a treat to own so if youre okay with subpar picture quality and prefer size, and framerate for maybe competetive gaming then this is likely for you. I have 1.5k hours in rocke tleague and this has upped my game. But for people who want the best possible picture for all applications, go smaller or go 1440

I bought this July 16 2018 and on September 26 2018 two lines of dead pixels emerged. This is a huge sign of things to come when this is a "gaming" monitor. It looks great and the price was good for what it was but with the dead pixels its an immediate DONT BUY. After reading reviews I thought maybe LG was a good way to buy for the future. But this will be the last LG product I ever buy.

Its not 4k but it does double as two monitors with a smaller footprint on the desk -- I can display two documents or web pages or applications side by side and the slight curvature does help readability. Its really meant as a gaming monitor and while I have played a few games I havent played anything that would challenge its capabilities. The updated Starcraft II did run easily at the max frame rate. In an ideal world Id have a 4k monitor but it would be a huge jump in price. This was a "Black Friday" purchase and the price has dropped slightly since then. Note that this monitor does NOT have built-in speakers. Built-in speakers tend to be crappy compared to external speakers or headphones AND have poor to non-existent bass, so why pay for something you wouldnt use?

I absolutely love this monitor. The arc, the small bezel, the 166hz refresh rate, colors, g sync, and ultrawide awesomeness. This was my favorite monitor to date and I enjoyed gaming on it from the day I got it. However, after 60 days on the nose, I ended up getting lines of dead pixels across my screen. 2 vertical lines, 1 slightly offset from center the other offset from right edge of screen and 2 horizontal line right across the bottom of the screen. Not sure what caused it, I just came home from work, turned on the monitor and there they were. Pretty frustrating as this monitor seemed rock solid. I have attached 2 picture under different color settings to get the lines to be most visible. I tried snip tool to get the images but it was hard to see the lines so I took the picture with my phone and played with the brightness level so the lines were more visible. Monitor is 5/5 stars if there wasnt the issue of the dead pixel lines. EDIT 6/22/19: I sent my monitor back to LG for repair free of charge. Took about 5 days transit to LG and they repaired and sent it back in the same day. All in all 1 week turnaround to get my monitor back up and running. Having no problems with it so far. Will update again in a couple months. I have changed my rating to 5 stars. I love this monitor, hopefully whatever happened to mine was a fluke.

Wow, what can I say, this baby speaks for itself, the most expensive monitor I have owned, and still happy with the price! I will say from some of the reviews, I was expecting it to be wobbly, and possibly a problem with my steering wheel being attached to the desk..it is not a problem for me, I have a smaller widescreen as well, maybe I just got used to it, but I have never considered the wobbliness to be an issue, and it is not an issue for me now on this monitor. Of course, as usual, now this monitor next to my older monitor makes my older monitor seem less awesome now, and my other one is a Samsung 29" Widescreen, which I still love, but not as much as the LG just purchased.
