So Ive had this monitor for a little over a week just to be sure Ive gathered my thoughts enough to write a thorough review on it. For the price, (I bought it for $350) I think this is a fantastic value gaming monitor, and I am quite happy with my purchase. However, I would not recommend this monitor for people with small desks. Sitting too close would only magnify the inherent weaknesses of the panel. If you want to know more, keep reading. Strengths Contrast - This is really the main point of going with a VA panel over IPS or TN. The contrast is very good. The bright whites and dark blacks wipe the floor with the old TN panel I was running. It wont look as good as OLED, but I think it runs circles around TN or IPS. VESA Mountable - This might not be a big deal to other people, but it was actually very important to me. My plan is to mount two monitors to a single arm, so having VESA is necessary. Im actually kind of surprised how many brands out there still dont adopt this. Low input lag AND pixel response time - These are what make this monitor good for gaming. Not only can you get the input lag down to 1ms or so with the motion blur reduction setting, but the monitor itself has a pretty good pixel response time as well. Gaming feels really good, and I cant feel a difference between this and my TN panel. 144hz refresh rate - This was the first time I had ever tried 144hz, and I absolutely love it. Games feels so much smoother, and Windows itself runs so much better. I will never be able to go back to 60hz. Overall design - I really appreciate the subtle gaming design LG went with. I cant stand the look of some gaming monitors... they just look tacky to me. This one is good, and the small red accents stand out without being too gaudy. The stand - I wont be using it too much longer since Ill be dual mounting my monitors to a single arm, but I really like the stand. It has full movement options (raise, rotate, tilt), and its pretty sturdy too. The footprint is also relatively small considering how large of a panel it has to hold up. I also appreciate the cable management clip, which can also double as a headphone mount. Keyboard/mouse cable management - Along the bottom of the panel, there are multiple "ports" to attach a tiny cable management ring. The ring itself is really cheap, and I feel like if you yank on in too hard it would probably just fall out or break... but I still greatly appreciate it. Its a nice feature that helps make your desk look cleaner than it would without it. Slim bezels - This monitor features a dual bezel design. It has an ultra slim plastic bezel along the outer frame, and a slightly thicker one under the panel itself. While powered off you can really only see the slim outer bezel, but once you turn it on both bezels will be visible. You should be able to see the difference in the photos provided. On screen control - I really like the look of LGs on-screen menu. It definitely feels gamer-y without looking tacky. In my opinion, only Samsungs gaming monitor menu looks better. Where LG crushes everyone else though is the menu control. The navigator is a small dial on the bottom of the panel, and I love it. It makes changing any setting quick, efficient, and painless, and there is no guesswork like with button-based controls. The dial also serves as the monitors power button. Its a single click to turn it on, and a single click then up on the dial to power down... easy. Weaknesses Pixel Density - In my opinion, this is the weakest aspect of the monitor. Its also why I would not suggest this to people with small desks. If you sit too close, you will be able to see the pixels and it wont look great. The monitor also has a hard time displaying really fine text, which is why some people complain about blurriness. This makes me think that a 27inch option for this monitor really would have been perfect, but I dont think a 1440p model was available at 27 inches. VA Panel Weaknesses - VA panels typically struggle with grey to grey pixel transitions, and I do notice it with this monitor... although not much. In games, its almost impossible to tell unless youre actively looking for it. I however do notice it in Windows Dark mode. When I move window panels around, there is a trail of smudginess that follows them, but it isnt too bad honestly. Its very minor, and I doubt most people will even notice it. What I think people will notice more is the discoloration of (heres that problem again) fine, dark text when you scroll. When there is quick movement, thin text will turn purple due to that weak color transition. Not a big deal in my opinion, but some people wont be able to get past it. Other various weaknesses - Theres no USB pass through, which is available on the higher models (for about $200 more), but it isnt worth it in my opinion. Colors are good, but not great.. it wont be able to compete with IPS panels in that department. Out of box settings will probably need to be changed. Some of the settings like brightness were way too high. Viewing angles will be limited, but I literally couldnt care less. The only time this makes a difference is for TVs in large rooms. Im sitting directly in front of my monitor, I dont need wide viewing angles. The power brick isnt built into the monitor, and I wish it were. Those fat bricks make it so much harder to manage cables, and they just look ugly. Overall, Im very happy with my purchase. It has made gaming such a pleasurable experience with the low input lag, high refresh rate, 32inch size, and 1440p resolution. I really do feel like I got "the full package" and for only $350 too. If the pixel density were better, it would have been an EASY 5-star review.

Bought this to replace an older Asus 1080p 60 hz monitor. I wanted something that was 32" but was higher resolution than 1080p. This monitor fit the bill nicely. I was hesitant to order the Gsync variant due to the exorbitant price difference and decided to just go with the Freesync version, with the assumption that i would only be missing the LED ring on the back and the adaptive Sync option. Two days after i ordered this Nvidia announced support for Freesync with Nvidia cards. I can testify that i have the freesync enabled after the January 15 driver update and tested with the Nvidia Pendulum demo and there is no screen tearing. I am using a GTX 1080 card. The monitor is beautiful. No dead pixels and very little picture settings were required out of the box.

Nothing bad to say regarding this new monitor. So far, running Wolfenstein New Colossus at high, maintaining a clean, tear free 60-70 FPS using a AMD RX580 with FreeSync on. Wow, so much better than 1080P! *** PLEASE NOTE: The customer photos that show a rear light ring are NOT for this model. 32GK650F-B DOES NOT HAVE A LED REAR LIGHT RING! If thats a feature simply must have, it was available on the "...650G-B" version of this monitor...but good luck finding it. This info is directly from LG. Working in Light Room and PhotoShop is a real treat now, too. So much work area with such clarity is a treat.

This is a fantastic monitor for what I paid ($350), but I have my concerns. The first one I received showed up with a cluster of dead pixels towards the middle of the screen and had one more dead pixel further down. I requested a replacement and was excited at first when the new one arrived, until I saw what appeared to be a stuck pixel/pixels. I tried all the tricks I could find online to remedy it, but still no luck so far. I understand things happen and this is why I didnt want to leave a mediocre review for the first monitor, but 2 pixel issues in a row lead me to believe this is somewhat of a common issue (Or that I am a terribly unlucky individual). That explains why 2 stars were taken off, but lets jump to why it did receive the 3 stars. This monitor is an absolute steal for the price. If you add up the size, the resolution, the refresh rate, the slightly better than TN panel and the Freesync (while also being G-Sync compatible) this is worth more than what I paid for. I am happy to report that all of these features work as expected. Although this isnt verified to work with G-Sync, there are no issues with it and other reviews and YouTubers have confirmed this is the case as well. This allows you to essentially get G-Sync at a fraction of the cost and I can attest after using it that G-Sync is game changing. Overall this is a fantastic monitor for the price and would easily receive 5 stars from me, but the pixel issues with both monitors I received are worrisome .

This is for the 650 freesync model no hdr. I recently returned the Samsung CH70 to Best Buy as there were several issues. I stumbled across this monitor and read some positive reviews regarding performance so decided to give it a try. I am blown away by the quality of this monitor. I primarily game on the Xbox X and although that system can’t push more than 60hz the response/imput lag of this monitor is very impressive. The Samsung Ch70 according to many is the best monitor possible for the Xbox and after using both the 650 performs slightly better. So if HDR is not important and you want a monitor with above average picture quality with excellent response/imput lag then this is for you.

Everything about this monitor is good. The bezel is thin and unobtrusive. The stand is just the right size and form. The vertical and tilt adjustments work easily. The menu is the best Ive ever seen on a monitor. It has a single joystick sort of button on the bottom, and a very well designed menu for setting the various options. The image quality is very good, very smooth frame rate, as expected, and the image quality is very good (not as good as a lower frame rate IPS monitor I have beside it, but very good regardless). I recently bough another IPS monitor for the image quality, but I wish i would have just bought another one of these monitors for the better controls, frame rate, stand, etc.

Just received the monitor and tested at the end of the day. First Im coming from a 24inch 1080p panel so this was a step up. Monitor is large for my 59incj desk and definitely would liked to push the monitor back more so make sure your desk is deep. Pixel density is 93 PPI so its the same as my old monitor just bigger. Great for multiple windows and multitasking. Panel easily hit 144hz, didnt see smearing, colors had punch. Unfortunately I stopped my testing when I noticed a cluster of dead pixels in the right corner. Not noticeable at first because of the location but I couldnt ignore it. Packed it right up. From what I saw its a good panel but just as much of a lottery as buying any monitor. No VA glow, or backlight bleed or any of the things I dreaded when I looked for a ips panel. Im returning it and looking for a smaller 27inch for my desk. Would actually recommend if you want/need more screen real estate, like high refresh rates, and prefer 16:9 over ultrawide.

This monitor is almost everything I could ask for a this price point. I will say 32 inch is huge as far as monitors go and i wouldnt want anything bigger. Free sync seems to work flawlessly with Gsync; I am running a rtx 2070, but you might need a 2080 push the more demanding titles at 1440p 144hz high settings. So far Im impressed with the picture and colors. My screen did come with a dead pixel in the lower right corner, but thanks to the size and resolution I dont even notice it unless im actively looking for it on a white screen. I recommend this monitor for anyone looking for freesync, and a big *** monitor. If it wasnt for the dead pixel, I would have given 5 stars.

Excellent monitor but the description is misleading as this model does not have the glowing red light ring on the back. For that you need the Gsync display which costs over $300 more.

Ive had a bit of bad luck with the 34" ultrawide market and had 2 of them have problems so I decided I would give the 32" a try and see how it goes. The first thing I was concerned about though was the pixel density being the same as 24" 1080p, since I came from a higher PPI on the 3440x1440 34"...but honestly it looks more than fine to me. The 144hz + Gsync is excellent! Color quality is surprisingly accurate with a 96.7% sRGB after calibration which is very decent for a VA panel. Most importantly the large screen size is incredibly immersive!
