LG 29WK600-W 29" UltraWide 21:9 IPS Monitor with HDR10 and FreeSync (2018)

I have a smaller desk, so was looking for a lower-profile 21:9 monitor for productivity and light gaming. Pros: -- Smaller footprint and better pixel density than 34in 21:9 -- Small bezel (*see below) -- OCd to 70 Hz without artifacts or frame drops WITHOUT freesync on nvidia hardware via HDMI. -- Great colors, HDR "Effect" (not true HDR) looks great to my untrained eye. Cons: -- Stand is aluminum, but has plastic parts. Still feels premium but not as much as I hoped. Not bad enough to remove a star. -- No USB port. Thoughts: For me, the display is perfect. The bezel is thin, but there are noticeable black bars. Isnt an infinity edge display like Ive seen on some dell laptops and was hoping for, but at this price point certainly isnt expected. Stand is very stable and imo looks nicer than the black plastic stands on other LG models. Huge upgrade from a standard 16:9 monitor. If you have the desk space, I have no doubt that premium 1440p 34in ultrawides offer more features and better performance than this product, albeit at a much higher price point.

I love this monitor it’s great. However the only thing I was surprised about, was that the monitor had built in speakers. This was a good surprise but I was confused why it was never in the item description.

Beautiful screen and great for games when overclocked to 85hz! 5ms response time will be noticed only if coming from a 1ms display for a short time then it’s not noticeable at all. I paid $199 on Black Friday but it easily worth $300 with HDR on. If buying this for Xbox one x all settings are enabled if you use a 2.0 hdmi cable 4K and HDR are beautiful on Xbox one x.

Amazing monitor for those who multi-task. Love the LG driver allowing multiple layouts but I find myself using side by side the most. Or when in excel this is great for wide spreadsheets. I will admit with only one program/app up it can be difficult because the width. My eyes can’t focus that far out, but generally I’ll open something else and resize the width to something comfortable for the main app I’m using. In honesty who doesn’t like having a webpage open with live feed as you work if it doesn’t cut down on the size of your work app/program. Oh and the 2k? Is a great picture too. Have not done any gaming so can’t comment on latency or rendering.

I bought the predecessor to this monitor 2 years ago and liked it so much, when I decided to add a second external monitor to stack above the first, this was the obvious choice. The setup went well and everything worked with little surprise after a couple of reboots. Lesson learned: My Lenovo laptop has 1 HDMI port and 1 mini DisplayPort. A quick search told me that in order to run 2 external monitors I would need to use both of these ports and not one of the USB ports. I tried first with a mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable but it would not support the full resolution of the monitor so I bought a straight miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and all worked very well. The stand that comes with this monitor is metal now - an upgrade from the plastic stand that came with the predecessor model 2 years ago. All seems to be of high-quality and well thought-out.

Working out of the box. Replacing um67 29" which only lasted a year. Has a vertical line on one side of the screen. Not happy and am taking another risk with LG monitors. The 29wk600-w is pretty much the same screen only it was $200.00 in 2018 compared to um67 29" $330.00 in 2015. This time I bought a extended warranty for 3 more years over the measly 1 year from LG. I really like the size of the 29"ultrawide it does not break your wallet and is perfect size IMHO. My other screen is Asus mg279q 144hz its a great screen but its more than double the price and have never had any problems with Asus computer products. Only time will tell if the LG 29wk600-w will last or not will review again. Right now 5* because its exactly the size and features I wanted in a monitor and you cant beat the price point.

Bought this for gaming. Since I play Civilization, World of Warcraft, Eve, Starwars the Old Republic, and Microsoft Flight Simulator I dont need the highest speed or resolution. My GTX 1060 has no problem working both with this and my old monitor, which Ive now rotated into portrait mode. And the sound is so much better Ill need to find a new use for my Bluetooth speaker. This works great for everything I play, and when watching Netflix or YouTube the image is a level of magnitude better than my old monitor.

Super sleek monitor and great picture. I have it connected to my MacBook Air though a mini display port to Hdmi cable. It does not have USB connections though, which would have been perfect.
