Great value for the price. It is quite helpful that you can switch between the VGA and HDMI inputs using either software or the second button on the front right underside next to the power button. This monitor has very good contrast of darks and lights, easy to set up (angle it before attaching the cables), and has roughly a 60 degree viewing angle (30 degrees on either side of dead center) in which the picture remains sharp and clear, so people sitting off center or next to the main user will still see a crisp accurate picture. Its very light but also very stable. UPDATE: Not good value. It has been 2 months since purchase. The screen now produces stray dark lines from top to bottom. It is not the cable connection. If you pinch the black plastic frame around the screen glass just below the dark line, the dark line disappears temporarily until you stop pinching below it. Unfortunate that this monitor didnt last beyond 2 months of limited use. No longer consider this a good value at all. 2ND UPDATE: manufacturer wants credit card info (through chat) to replace the defective monitor still under warranty - instead of providing means to ship it back (like a shipping label so you know you arent getting charged hidden fees) before getting the replacement. It reads too much like a cc scam so not worth it.

We have owned this monitor for one year. Today, lines and distorted images appeared on the screen indicating that it was going bad. Upon calling tech support, they told us there would be a $59.99 Fee for diagnostics. The monitor only cost $99 so, NO we are not going to do that. I think a monitor should last more than 1 year. I do not recommend this product.

I really like this monitor until it died just 79 days after I bought it from Amazon. According to the box, there is a 1-year warranty. I tried to contact HP about getting it fixed or replaced and they told me that there was a “crack” in the screen, but there isn’t a crack in the screen. Then they said, and I quote, “It is on the inside and the LEDs are making the vertical lines because of the crack.” But that doesn’t account for the crazy jumping and bouncing and color changes over the rest of the monitor. (See my photos.) Luckily, Amazon has a fantastic customer service reputation and they want to keep me happy. They jumped in where HP failed miserably. I’m not getting the entire cost of the monitor back, but even a fraction at this point is way better than being accused of something I did not do. IF YOU BUY THIS MONITOR, beware of HP’s lack of warranty support and how they fight to make it your fault when clearly there is a problem with some of their monitors. I certainly hope you have a better experience than I do.

Is this a stunning, perfect display? No, not really. But it is perfect as a low-cost secondary display for a laptop. I work from home frequently, and my little laptop screen wasnt cutting it to connect to the bigger dual-monitor display setup I have on my desk at work. I needed something that was fairly inexpensive, but would be easy on the eyes when Im coding for work. I bought it along with a VESA adapter and a mounting arm, because I like to put my secondary displays in portrait mode, and the stand it comes with doesnt do that. Color and resolution seem pretty good. The back light is nice. Theres a tiny bit of light bleed around the edge of mine, but I use it in a fully lit room during daytime hours, so its not bothersome. I do wish that the place you put the VESA adapter or stand was more centered, because the monitor is a little wobbly, even on the arm I have it mounted on. Otherwise, its a solid monitor considering I only paid $100 for it. If youre looking for some fancy display for watching high definition movies and playing games, maybe this isnt it. But if you need a second or third monitor for internet browsing / writing code / basic stuff, this is a good choice.

Crisp and vibrant display! Really fits the budget and delivers better than expected quality. Colors are clear and precise; watching videos is a lot more enjoyable with this monitor (especially videos of the 60fps type). I bought one of these monitors for my main computer and it was so good, I bought a second one for a computer in my shop. I plan to buy a third one here soon for a dual display on my shop computer. HP did a good job with this monitor. Installation of the stand is a breeze and you cant mess it up as the mounting spokes are made to fit only one size of the monitor so there is no guessing, just plug and play. Ports on the back are 1 power supply (included) 1 VGA cable connection and 1 HDMI. *NOTE: ONLY a VGA cable comes with the package, HDMI will have to be purchased separately. Other than that, great purchase, will definitely buy more of these bad boys. *UPDATE 23SEP2018: Monitors are functioning 100% as day 1. Other users are reporting problems or defects, I still have not had anything happen to me like they said happened to them. I am about to buy another one. The day these problems arise, I will update my review but as of now, everything is great! *UPDATE 12/12/2018 Monitors are fully operational and function as they did one day 1. Still impressed and satisfied with the quality of these monitors. I have a total of 3 and I am about to buy a 4th one right now.

I guarantee 90% of these negative reviews are results of user error. Every component of this monitor is flawless. I havent had a single problem and Ive had it for almost a year now, an Ive been using it with 2 different computers. Its very fast, the color is ridiculously vibrant, its very clear and sharp. And this monitor actually looks very nice. Its ultra thin, and has a very nice and sturdy stand. In my opinion, monitors with big, bulky stands just stick out like a sore thumb. For all you gamers, if youre budget is tight, this monitor still works well. I used it for gaming for a while and while it was crystal clear, this monitor is only 60hz, so it wasnt as fast as I had hoped. If you have a higher budget, Id advise looking elsewhere. Anyone who is into editing, designing or any other computer related job, I would totally recommend this display. Im an editor, and I use premiere. Anyone who uses premiere would know that there are like 4 different work spaces on the screen itself. This monitor displays them all perfectly. Also, its almost completely borderless. Watching YouTube videos on it, for example, is great because it fills up the entire screen. Who wouldnt want that? Like I said before, if youre looking for a great monitor, but have a low budget, you should stop searching, because you have just found it.

Excellent monitor! As you can see from the photo. I bought two of them. Dual monitors are the way to go. Multi-tasking at its best! Since it doesnt have any audio outputs; I use Bluetooth from my laptop to a JBL Charge 2 Bluetooth Speaker.

As this unit has been installed for only a week, I cannot speak to long-term reliability. That said, there is a lot to like about this monitor. First .. it is important for anyone reading this evaluation to keep in mind this unit is a $90 monitor intended for basic viewing. I dont believe it was designed to be a "gaming" monitor even though several viewers mentioned satisfactory results when doing so. The monitor was fairly simple to assemble, however I needed to purchase a "AmazonBasics DisplayPort to HDMI Cable - 3 Ft" adapter for the HDMI cable as my laptops docking station only had a DisplayPort and not an HDMI port. Unit powered up without issue and has displayed a very nice, crisp picture when connected to NetFlix and streaming. There is a bit of a delay on the screen when resuming from Sleep Mode but not a big deal really. Overall Ive been pleased with the unit, particularly with the output. Im not impressed with the HP software that accompanied the monitor. The screen partitioning application (not needed at all) which emulates a very-dumbed-down version of Display Fusion doesnt behave well when resuming the monitor from Sleep. It was quickly uninstalled. Windows 10 did not immediately recognize the monitor in Device Manager so a quick trip to Windows Update provided the most current driver for the monitor. So -- at the end of the day you can keep it simple and not even use the supplied DVD unless reading Documentation is desired. Other purchasers werent happy with the external power supply wishing instead it was internal to the unit. Having been an IT tech for several years Ive seen a number of quality monitors discarded when the internal power supply failed yet the monitor panel itself having been perfectly functional. It would have been far more cost-effective to have been able to replace the power supply only. Several reviewers out there mentioned "black-out" or "flashing" on/off issues thereby denigrating the monitor itself without addressing the probability the external power supply was defective; no one appeared to address this issue as a troubleshooting possibility. The adapter is quite light and feels a tad cheap so users might consider trying to replace the adapter if performance issues (above) arise. Although an onboard USB port would have been nice, Im satisfied with what it is ... an inexpensive $90 monitor that makes working on my laptop more pleasurable for both my wife and myself. Assuming reliability extends its use beyond three years, it will have been a very nice purchase indeed.

I was looking for a dual monitor setup for my new PC setup, and I had an old Acer monitor which had a resolution I wasnt happy with. I decided to search for a good monitor for a price I could have a budget for, yet enjoy. I found this excellent IPS monitor. This monitor arrived in a clean box, and had instructions provided to properly setup the monitor, with a clean sheet applied to the screen to prevent light damage to the screen in shipment. Upon opening, I noticed it came with a complimentary VGA cable (didnt use it, since I prefer HDMI). The monitor has two parts: a stand and the monitor itself. This was easy to set-up as well, and the sheet covering the monitor depicted the connections to build it clearly. After setting the monitor up, settings were easy to navigate and configure, and in seconds I was logging into Windows with a clear, crisp resolution which was much more pleasing to look at than my older Acer, which has light bleed and some funkier older pixels and colors. My monitor was clear of dead pixels, and was overall just as I needed for anything from browsing to gaming at a comfortable 80fps. I am in the process of purchasing another monitor to replace my older Acer. Thank you!

The screen flashes black every once in a while like its trying to change resolution. Ive updated the drivers for both the monitor and my graphics card to no avail. Its not an issue with my computer as my second monitor of a different brand works perfectly. If I ever find a resolution for this problem Ill change my rating and explain how to fix it in case others have the same problem.
