I purchased two. So, I had the same black-out thing as everyone else has, but I figured, okay. I can live with that. But washing the screen gently on one, the TINIEST bit of water must have gotten under the bottom lip on one. Huge bad vertical random color strip. Alright, lets say this is my fault. Ill still not get mad. So I took that one out to the living room and let my GF use it as a TV. Bumped against it one day, vaccuuming. Insta-trashed. Alright. Fine. Ill deal. My fault both times, right? Second monitor Im using as my computer screen, works okay except for the occasional blackout. Still dealing with that okay. I decide to clean my computer desk. GENNNNTLY move it with one hand. CRACK. Trashed where my thumb was. NO WAY. This one was NOT my fault. These monitors are as fragile as butterfly wings. So long as you NEVER move these things, they work ok. BUT NEVER EVER MOVE THEM FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER.

I got this one for 2 years now, and today I finally get rid of it. Because it blinks to black randomly. I tried so many ways and never got problem solved. I even replace my Surfacebook.

Install Flash Player First, the picture quality on this monitor is great! I used it for a bit over a year. No complaints. I did a lot of work and watched a lot of YouTube on this guy. Happy days. But then, the sun started to set a little earlier, the winds blew a little stronger, and jobs required us to move. As the wife carefully attempted to move the monitor for the first time, she lifted it from the base, and in an instant, the screen detached and a crack sprinted across the screen like a bolt of lightning. After the dust had settled, I examined the machine and discovered a critical flaw: the base and monitor have 2 "snaps". In one the monitor is secure. In the other the monitor is looking to jump off the stand like its the Titanic. Both locking modes look exactly the same. I have zero idea why they would do that. The worst part is, I took a video clearly showing the problem, called Dell, talked to 3 people, and NO one would help nor even LOOK at the video! Its clearly a design flaw in the product (imagine if there is an earthquake in a city with a lot of Dells--monitors will be raining down like fireballs from Zeus). They said "Unfortunately because its a monitor we dont do repairs". I said, "How about a replacement?". They said "Because its a user caused issue we arent allowed to do that". I said, "look at the video", they said "Let me transfer you to sales theyll help you buy a new monitor". Anyway, I cannot recommend this Dell monitor as you cannot trust a product which has the feature, apparently on purpose, "designed to fall on your face".

So it blinks to black randomly. Each blink lasts only a few seconds. Go to the Dell support boards, lots of people have this problem, seems they cant get it fixed. Why is Dell selling this inferior product? Avoid this one, buy another brand. I have never, ever, had this problem with another monitor. Why the high rankings, I have no idea.

I purchased this monitor in July 2015 and from the start, the screen would (rarely) go Black for 2-3 seconds. At first, the Black Screen only happened every week or two, and I didnt think much of it. As time progressed, the Black Screen became more and more frequent until now, the Black Screen occurs every 15- 20 minutes or so. (talk about distracting when you are trying to get that memo finished!) From doing an internet search, this Black Screen is apparently a VERY COMMON ISSUE for these DELL monitors. Of course, it is well past any warranty time period (I used my Amazon Synchony card which has no feature like extended warranty). So now, this monitor is destined for the landfill and I am destined to spend another $500 for a new monitor. I would strongly recommend against buying this DELL monitor. Kathleen
