This is a pretty good monitor. I got it because I needed a monitor for professionally editing photos and it was clear with moody low-key photos that the blacks were impossible to get right with my old monitor. I got this one because it was generally considered a good, professional option with the IPS spec. The monitor comes color corrected from the factory and the colors are excellent. If you are editing mid or high key photos this will suit you just fine but issues start to arise when getting into the low key very dark photos. Its absolutely noticeable to a large degree. The photos attached are in a *completely dark room* with virtually no light interference. The dark images are a pure black image maxed in Photoshop, the bright one is pure white. The black is CLEARLY not black, theres severe light bleeding on almost 50 percent of the screen. The white is less noticeable but the bottom of the screen has a dark gradient fade over the bottom inch or so of the screen. Its fairly tolerable, but still really annoying and something I expect to be resolved when paying $400 for a monitor. Its also highly reflective when displaying anything darker than grey which makes editing dark images increasingly irritating. Is it a decent monitor? Sure. Is it good by professional standards? No. Whats the best thing above this? $3,000 OLED screen. Will this do fine for most people? Probably, but Im picky. I expected more. I have a 120hz 4k OLED TV and its likely spoiled me in terms of pure blacks and color accuracy. These IPS monitors are likely to get phased out once OLED monitors become mainstream in a few years. Its unfortunate, but this is probably still your most affordable choice with guaranteed color accuracy for now even at what I consider 3 stars.
