this monitor does not have HDMI as the description states and is going back.

This was a pretty good monitor, especially for the price. Keyword being was. I make a living off of photography, so I needed a monitor that I could calibrate, was big enough to have the extra workspace, and had good image quality. This met all of those, and being on a budget, this was a good deal. It has good image quality and I was able to calibrate it (manually) to be a good enough match to what I needed. It was a solid part of my workflow. Then the oft-reviewed power issues started. After about 9 months it started to go through the power cycle (turning off then back on rapidly) without any prompting. LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS THAT SAY THERE ARE POWER ISSUES. Really. Its now worthless as I can only go about 5 minutes in editing until it cycles continuously and I cant get anything done. Im not happy, as Im in the middle of editing a shoot and need to make an emergency purchase of a new monitor. -_-* If you need a quick-and-dirty monitor for an emergency, then buy this. If you want anything to do with quality, dont.

Like others have reported, my Dell SE2416HX is experiencing power cycling issues and is turning on and off every 3 minutes or so. 2 days out of warranty and Dell wont do anything about it. I have other monitors from Dell that are still going strong after 12 years. This one didnt last a year and a half. My advice - DO NOT PURCHASE! This is a monitor with manufacturing / design problems and its best to avoid them.

I purchased 2 of these monitors. One of them (thus far) is working fine. The other one began to randomly cycle on and off, which is the same problem observed by a few other reviewers. This dysfunction began occurring 37 days after purchase on Amazon, so I think I am SOL.

This Dell monitor is prone to power supply problems. I bought one back in February 2016. It worked adequately for a few months but, then started to power cycle. At first it cycled about every 5 - 10 minutes but slowly got more frequent as time passed. Soon, it was unusable and would cycle on and off continuously. Since I purchased this off of Amazon, I had to get an Express Service code registered with Dell before they would deal with my problem. This took 3-4 weeks. Finally I got to explain the problem to tech support (from India) and after many phone calls explaining the problem over and over, they sent me a new monitor (same model but refurbished). I plugged it in and connected it to my desktop and within 15 minutes it started to cycle on and off just like the first one did. In contrast, my Samsung monitor is working flawlessly. DON"T BUY THIS MONITOR UNLESS YOU LIKE PROBLEMS. See other Amazon reviews with the same power cycling problem. This was not a fluke.

So far, only had it a week, this is a great monitor! Purchased my first one from a popular computer parts vendor because I felt it was a great deal. Then, the next day, Amazon had it for $20 less than the first one I purchased. It was at that point that I decided to get a second monitor. I ended up paying slightly less than $300 for two 27-inch monitors. I love the ability to have refresh rate at 75hz with HDMI cable connection. The Free-sync is an added bonus and seems to work well with my new graphics card. Unless you are a hard-core, professional gamer, you wont be disappointed. For normal everyday use and occasional, non-professional gaming, its a great value!

As others have mentioned, this monitor worked just fine as my second monitor until about 6 weeks ago. Now its displaying the "power off - power on" issue randomly. It will work just fine for an hour+ or so and then go into the routine of black screen and then back to normal within 10 seconds. A few minutes will pass and the cycle repeats. Sometimes as many as 10 episodes per hour. Im checking into the possibility that Dell may have extended the warranty on this monitor due to these issues.

I work in IT as a database developer and I have used Dell monitors for years. They are solid, durable and they last for years. At work I have two Dell 27" monitors on a Windows platform and can appreciate the sharpness and clarity of the screen. When I replaced an 8 year old iMac at home with a Mac mini this year, I opted to go with a MacMini and two 27" Dell monitors as opposed to the 27" iMac and a 2nd monitor. This setup is great. Changing the setup configuration is easy from the buttons on the lower right of the monitor. Dells technology with monitors is superb. I recommend them.

Really liked the size and when connected to Mac Pro, it looks awesome. Glad i paid so much less compared to the Apple product. Looks good and frankly i can watch some of the movies on the monitor itself instead of connecting the laptop to my TV. Overall, excellent product.

About a year ago I purchased two of these monitors for my home office. After about 9 to 10 months one of the monitors started intermittently turning on then off and continues this cycle. The monitor is basically useless now. I saw a few reviews stating the same problem and I thought it might have been an isolated problem given the number of positive reviews. I gave it two stars because the other monitor still works. Pay the extra for the slightly better monitor.
