The monitor shows great display qualify. Only one thing bothers me that the stand is not strong enough. The monitor shakes at any motion on my desk. USPS leaves the package out door in the rain without any notice. When I noticed it is delivered, the package box is wet.

Received a previously opened unit that was definitely not new. It was an out of the box failure with vertical white lines over the left third of the screen.

It is a challenge to rate this monitor, because there are some deal breakers that would keep me from ever purchasing one. However, if you put those aside, it is a good value and not a bad choice for the office use it is designed for. This line of Dell monitors is less expensive and cuts some corners to get that price. For office use, where I am staring at a computer all day sometimes, ergonomics are crucial. Having the monitor at eye level, which means the head is not tilted down or up, does wonders for the back. The only way to do this and keep the desk clean is to mount the monitor to an arm. They are inexpensive now and come in all sorts of configurations. Nearly every monitor made other than Apple has traditionally had VESA mounting points, but Dell has elected to remove them to save what must be very little money. To make matters worse, the included stand does not move up and down -- it only has some tilt. There is no Dell solution, but third parties have stepped in, selling makeshift adapters to allow mounting. The cost of these mounts, in my view, makes it a better option to just buy a higher end monitor with VESA mounting points, including from Dell. I have used these third party solutions before and they never work as well, because the mounting point is where the stand was rather than the center of the monitor, making it all less stable. Still, they are a viable option if you are already stuck with a monitor missing mounting points. There are a couple other potential sore points. First, there is only HDMI. Yes, a monitor in 2018 with no Displayport, despite many of Dells computers from low to high end having only Displayport. With a recent office PC from Dell, we had to buy an extra adapter because of this issue. A second issue is less important, depending on how picky you are. Similar to another recent low end Dell monitor I have, the screen is glossy, but there is a sort of foggy filter that looks like it is painted on the underside of the glass. It is hard to describe, but I kept grabbing at the screen at first because I thought there was a layer of protective plastic still adhered to it. Alas, it just looks that way. It is perhaps the blue light filter they advertise, which could be nice on the eyes, so you may still want it there and I do not notice it after a while. If I had the choice, I would opt for clarity and just use a software filter if blue light was a concern. So, why do I still rate it 4 stars? The image quality is exceptional for an office level monitor, with good color reproduction and wide viewing angles. For a 27" monitor, 1080P is a bit low and the individual pixels are visible. This could be the last year this line of lower end monitors skips 4K. Still, the IPS screen is pleasant on the eyes and it is big enough for a group to view and discuss around without overwhelming a cubicle. The front is all glass and looks borderless when off, though the black plastic borders are just hiding underneath. Somewhat comically, the really high end Dell monitor in the 27" for graphics work look more old fashioned with a matte finish and exposed plastic border. That matte finish is missing here, which is unfortunate, though the glossy finish does look good. If you do not care about mounting the monitor, height adjustment, or a slightly foggy filter, the S2719H is a good choice for the office or light home use that is a definite upgrade over most monitors at the lowest end (around half the price). Otherwise, there are better options.

Dell makes some fantastic monitors and I use everything from their high-end UltraSharp line at work to more decidedly pedestrian models designed for home use at, well, home. The S2719H is in the latter group but offers huge monitor real estate for a budget-friendly price. I guess Ill start with the biggest obvious drawback; the lack of VESA mounting options just kills and is a serious oversight on Dells part. I cant imagine why Dell would leave out a feature thats nearly ubiquitous in the monitor industry and yet include speakers... speakers! Wha? I cant think of the last time I used much less encountered a monitor with built-in speakers. The lack of a VESA mount means youre stuck using the included monitor stand which elevates the monitor about four inches off the desktop and features only a tilt adjustment. Theres no up/down or side to side adjustment at all. There are some monitor arms that are compatible with monitors like the S2719H but thats an extra expense and since I already own monitor arms an investment Im not likely to make. That out of the way, I still think there are a lot of nice features for this budget-friendly monitor. Dell has done a good job making this monitor attractive with a nearly bezel-free design. The monitor looks premium without the price... if that makes sense. Materials are all plastic versus aluminum found in more expensive models but the S2719H looks fantastic. The screen is a high-gloss finish which will undoubtedly turn off some buyers. The panel is In-Plane Switching (IPS) which means off-center viewing angles are excellent. Likewise, color reproduction, at least to my eyes, is pretty good. Whites are where this monitor suffers a bit though it does reproduce black reasonably well. ► I/O: → HDMI 1.4 × 2 → Audio line-out × 1 ► Specs: → Height (with stand): 24"×18"×7" → Weight: 17lbs → Native resolution: 1920×1080 I wrestled a bit with what rating to give this monitor and ultimately chose four stars simply because of the value proposition coupled with the sharp screen and excellent color quality. If youre looking for a good large-format screen and dont want to drop a lot of money this is a good one. Recommended!

My wife has been needing a monitor to replace her aging 23" Samsung monitor. This Dell 27" monitor fits the bill perfectly. The need is for something that is a good all around monitor. Mostly surfing the web, watching videos, movies, playing the occasional light game, etc. Dont want a super low-end monitor that looks horrible. And a high-end gaming monitor can get very expensive and is far more than we need. The Dell monitor is right there in the mid-range, filling in that "all-around" monitor requirement. It just has 2 HDMI ports, proprietary external power supply, and that it. Light bleed is very minimal and the norm in the class. Contrast ratio is average. Black level could be better. We found disabling dynamic contrast ratio, lowering brightness, and going to "movie mode" worked best as a balance for her various activities. Not a fan of having to change settings often, so this works. So this one is easy. She absolutely loves the monitor with its thin bezels and great picture quality. If that sounds like something youre looking for, consider this highly recommended.
