Setup was easy. The stand snaps together and then attaches to the monitor with a single screw. I do find the stand a bit flimsy, but the build quality on the panel itself is quite nice. It looks like a modern, slim bezel monitor. The display has an HDMI 2.0 port and a Display Port 1.2a. Both ports will support 1920x1080 at 144hz. The monitor comes with a high speed HDMI cable in the box. Please note that Free Sync needs to be enabled in the OSD on the panel and you must set the refresh rate to 144hz using the Windows 10 display adapter menu. Also set the color depth to 8 bit and the RGB Range to Full. Those complaining about the color have probably not accomplished what I stated above. Not having the computer and panel set properly will certainly cause blurry text and washed out colors. Once the settings are addressed, I found the color reproduction to be quite good. It is impressive to see how far TN panels have come. This is my second panel in the past week, the first was a curved 144hz VA panel that was having some screen issues, hence I returned it for this one. I can say that in my opinion, the screen quality is superior to that particular budget VA panel. Other positives is the low response time of the monitor. TN are the fasted panels available and it is noticeable. Comparing this monitor to the other 144hz FreeSync VA panel, using the UFO test pattern, this TN Panel from Dell is noticeably smoother with less ghosting. This monitor also boasts a 400nit brightness, where as most monitors are around 200nits. This monitor is a torch. The max brightness is downright impressive. In a well lit room, you would have not trouble seeing this panel. I am playing in a dark room and I did dial the brightness back quite a bit. It is nice to see that it can go impressively bright if needed. I initially went for a VA panel trying to balance speed and color depth. I was weary that a TN panel would look too dull. This is not the case at all. Once the settings are addressed, the color depth is quite good and the response time is as best as you can get.

The colors arent nearly as bad as others would have you believe. Everything is easily corrected using either Nvidia settings and/or WIn10 to whatever you want. That being said the blacks are relatively weak compared to some other monitor. Its most noticeable when watching movies and less when gaming. The 144 hz and 2 ms is great. The screen can be overly bright but you can adjust the NITs with a button push. Ive been playing Ace Combat 7 at max settings and have had no issues with blurriness, screen tearing, etc. If youre wanting an AMD Freesync monitor that will work with Nvidias 417.71 release where Gsynch will work with it then this isnt the monitor for you as this monitor isnt one of the few that is supported. Overall, this is a great upgrade for the price and worth every penny.

Let me say I work in IT and stare at monitors every day and I have been reading reviews for a week on new 24-27 inch Dell monitors. My screen was a little blurry and different parts of the screen had slighly different contrasts. Task bar at the bottom was light but the corners got really dark. Adjusting the settings didnt really help much. The colors just werent sharp at all. The buttons are noisy and It makes me think Im working with an old CRT monitor. I got my refund for this one and sending it back. I bought this instead and it works just fine. Premium High Performance Dell 27" Full HD IPS LED-Backlit Im just doing school work and work in photoshop from time to time and dont need anything over the top.

I decided to buy this monitor before any reviews were out for it, so I was a bit skeptical, especially when switching over from an IPS panel monitor. However, I am pleasantly surprised with its performance. The colors are not that bad for a TN panel, MUCH better than I expected. Yes, the screen is very bright and does make things a little washed out, but it can be improved with some simple calibration. Text at 1080p at 27" is not the crispest, but doesnt bother me at all. I can spend hours in Word or online and it doesnt cause any eye strain for me. While not a big deal for me, it might be for others. Overall, Im very happy with this monitor. Its a solid gaming monitor at a decent price point. Pros: Crisp and smooth in gaming. 144 Hz makes a big difference coming from 60 Hz. The minimal borders makes the screen look sleek and impressive. Matte screen with minimal to zero glare. Nice sturdy base and all black design. Solid Dell monitor build quality. Cons: Speakers are really bad. Dont plan on using them for any music listening. They do well enough for YouTube watching, but thats about it. Colors need some help out of the box.

Install Flash Player The monitor seemed nice and well until about 3 hours into using it, the entire left half of my screen was covered with rainbow vertical lines. Crazy how a brand new product can be broken. Also as well I spoke to Dell support team and they offered a replacement monitor that is refurbished instead of brand new?!? It wasnt my computer either, if watching the video I unplug the Displayport Cable in my computer and the black screen proceeded to have the lines. After contacting Amazon for the second time, they offered a replacement, but extremely unhappy I waited some time for a broken product. Especially after setting up the entire monitor.

Great size for my old eyes and the 144hz refresh makes gaming so smooth its incredible. Note the monitor didnt come with a Display Port cable, just HDMI, so youll need one (and a good graphics adapter) to take advantage of the display. Also, it took a few to get into the advanced settings in window to set the refresh to 144hz (it doesnt set it above 60hz by default). Speakers are awful, but I didnt buy it for the audio. Overall based on the price and features i feel this is a good value.

For the price, on paper at least, this is an amazing value for a well know name brand monitor with the gaming features I was looking for. Since I was in the market I figured why not take a chance. I couldnt find another 27" that was a TN flat screen without thick bezels, 144hz, Freesync and 400nits brightness for less than $180. I knew the stand would be lacking (which it is) and not have good speakers (which it does not but who cares). So on to the pros, cons and why I decided to return it. Pros: - -PRICE! -Top and sides of the screen are frameless -Matte Screen -144hz -Freesync -Flat TN panel (I prefer TN for response time and low motion blur) Cons- -Very washed out and inaccurate colors even for TN -Limited U/I -Terrible viewing angle even for TN -Lower bezel sticks out too far to create a seamless triple monitor setup The reason I sent it back- I was really looking to put together an inexpensive triple monitor setup. But unfortunately the lower bezel protrudes outward so far that when you place another monitor right next to it, the lower bezels touch before the two sides of the monitors do. Meaning you will have a gap between each screen. They cannot be seamlessly places next to one another. And on top of that design flaw, the viewing angle is so bad that color shift would definitely be a problem. Its probably okay for someone that wants a single cheap monitor with gaming features but NOT for multi-monitor setups and if you value color accuracy, look elsewhere. Final Thoughts- Like I originally said, I really wanted to make this work. The fat lower bezel was a deal breaker for me. Its so hard to tell from the stock pictures and I didnt see anyone talking about in other reviews. Aside from that, the colors are way off even after calibration. The blues, looks purple no matter what I do. I mean its really bad and should have taken picture and posted it with this review before I sent it back. Still not a bad value I guess but for just $20-$30 more you have a lot more options.

When this thing is on sale for 179 its incredibly hard to beat for the price. You can enable adaptive sync and enjoy all the benefits of an extreme expensive monitor for basically half price. I could never go back now. The color wash improved with DP cabling, which it does not come with. You will need a good DP cable to pull adaptive sync. I ordered one from CLUB3D. Whatever you get, ensure that its certified and can do what you need. I feel most of the troubles people are experiencing with this monitor are entirely due to poor cables. DP isnt quite as universal as HDMI, especially with adaptive sync on unsupported monitors and without DP you will not be able to use adaptive sync at all even with the newer drivers. That said, I did try this without adaptive sync while I waited for my cable to come in and it does have washed out colors on HDMI, but thats the only real down side. I experienced essentially no tearing and now with my cable, I never will. 10/10 at its current price point. Remember to give your eyes a few days to adjust to the new monitor before you decide its fate. I did and I couldnt be happier. 144 or nothing now and Im hoping to buy 1, maybe 2 more before the sale ends to replace the rest of my 60hz monitors.

For a monitor, its not a bad buy, especially since I personally got it on sale. I dont have one of those color calibration devices so I personally dont know how off it is but this product isnt geared towards creators but gamers instead. Id recommend getting another monitor for any sort of color grading work or such. Pros: -supposedly 144hz -VESA mounting -Audio passthrough -Has USB ports -Has speakers Cons: -Comes with an HDMI cord so you have to buy a DisplayPort cable to actually do more than 120Hz (Im waiting on mine to come in the mail to properly test it) -The USB ports are 2.0s -The speakers are terrible. Like Ive heard cheaper (~$5) speakers sound better. If I had to describe the sound, its tinny, kind of like it somehow has a bit of echo, and just is all around terrible. Use the money you saved by buying this to buy some other speakers or a headset to go with this. -Navigating the menu kind of sucks. Coming from a 75hz monitor to this I can actually see the difference and honestly, I think this is a pretty okay product. I also believe that the product should either have better speakers or none at all due to the sheer horribleness of the speakers. I also think that delivering a product with a cable that wont let you fully experience the product fully is kind of BS. Ill probably update this once I get the correct cable and try my own testing using the UFO test.

I bought this monitor because I wanted to get back to the good ol 144hz gaming experience after finally breaking the console spell that was cast upon me. For under $200 you get a screen that is perfect for fps (first person shooters) as well as every game in general providing of course you have a graphics card cable of obtaining higher than 60 frames per second. This dell gaming monitor not only supports free sync but with the new update from NVIDIA now allows it to support G-sync as well. G-sync is nothing more than NVIDIAs answer to adaptive sync technologies at a ludicrous price point. So you might be asking what does that mean for you? It means your bang for the buck just got a heck better and I truly believe that this monitor is among the best TN panel monitors under $200 that supports free sync, G-sync and has vesa mount capabilities.
