The picture quality is outstanding, providing a very crisp and clear image. The side viewing capability is something you need to be aware of—it is incredible, really. If your use dictates privacy for any reason, this probably isn’t the monitor to get unless you’re prepared to install a privacy screen on it. If you are looking for a monitor you can easily view from any angle, then this would be one to consider. Setup is easy, but there are not a lot of options. You get a power and VGA cables, and the only input options on the back are VGA and HDMI. Also limited are the mounting options. It does not support VESA, so mounting with a monitor arm is disappointingly not possible. The base is not adjustable height-wise either. You are limited to a 5° forward tilt and a 21° rear tilt, and physically raising the monitor if elevation is needed. Overall, this is a great monitor with a quality picture. If you are looking for a basic, no-frills 27” monitor, this would be the one to get. If your needs require a lot of positional flexibility or privacy, maybe look around a little more.

I’m using this Dell 27” monitor with a MacBook Pro. While the monitor offers VGA and HDMI connections, only a VGA cable is included. The product description left out that detail. The main product picture currently being used shows a silver stand; the stand is actually black as shown in other product photos. I can’t really say if the design of the stand frees up more desk space or not since that’s never been a problem for me, but I do like that it’s a flat base. The viewing angle is adjustable but not the height of the monitor. I also like the slim power cord! No huge brick adaptor for this monitor. The main complaint I have with this monitor is how it bounces on my desk. I use a mechanical keyboard, and the monitor bobbles with every keystroke. I have a larger monitor that doesn’t have this problem, so I imagine it’s due to the small stand on the Dell. Image quality seems to be pretty good. There’s not a ton of options on the monitor, but you can adjust contrast/brightness, and there are presets for “ComfortView” (blue light blocking), Movie, Game, Warm, Cool, and the ability to set a custom color. When I use it with my laptop, I do my main work on the Dell screen instead of the Mac’s, which is the opposite of what I usually do. And not because of the increased screen size, but because I prefer the image quality.

So be aware that the picture is not necessarily representing what you will receive. The only photo here shows a silver base and silver stand coming up from the base to the monitor, but what I received is all black. I actually prefer the black, so I was satisfied, but beware if you WANT a silver one. Setup was simple - and I appreciate that theres no power brick external like the two I currently have were using, the Acer this replaced, and the Samsung curved right next to it. Colors are good, and unlike the Acer this replaced (which is why it replaced it) the white levels are actually something I can get to where i like them. Im not a fan of "warm" whites, and the Acer just couldnt get away from that yellowish tinge no matter what settings I did. I have no dead / stuck pixels, the box was a bit banged up but because of the spacing around the monitor, and the "crunch zone" packaging on the edges of the box where it was banged, it arrived unscathed. You get a VGA cable with it, and a power cable. Assembly is simple, one screw with a folding flange that lets you screw it by hand to secure the rising part of the stand to the base, and then the monitor simply slides onto the rails of the stand. Tilting lets you get the right angle. For me, since I keep my office dark without lights on and the blinds on the window closed, I dont have to worry about reflections or anything, but being able to tilt it some will help alleviate issues for people in those circumstances. Its only FHD but sitting immediately next to my more expensive Samsung curved 27" display that I really like, it is every bit as pleasing to the eye. Quite a contrast to the 27" Acer that I pulled out. Rear is simple - on the "right" side of the monitor when its facing you is the power plug. On the left as it faces you are the inputs for the signal. No VESA option, so two weeks ago this wouldve been unusable for me since I only recently took down my multi monitor VESA arms since I wanted to bring this Samsung here from home, and it doesnt have VESA mounts. If you require VESA mounting, look elsewhere. But for the price, its definitely up there in picture quality.
