I really hope this helps out someone who buys this product because itll probably save someones afternoon. Heres a list of things that you will probably ruin your afternoon trying to hook this monitor up: 1. Buy a displayport cable if you plan on using displayport, the cable that comes with this monitor doesnt work well. 2. If your other monitor isnt using displayport then this monitor will not work out of the box without installing drivers. The easy way around this is to make sure that all your monitors that you are using are on displayport (e.g. do not use dvi on another monitor and use displayport on this monitor, both must be displayport or youll have to do extra configurations). 3. The default colors on this are HORRENDOUS, due to the fact the monitor is on a different mode in the settings. To fix the colors, you have to change the Picture Mode to Standard and set the Custom Key to Picture Mode. Also, would Google on what to set the settings to as my eyes are pretty terrible so Im not great at calibrating colors. 4. This is probably an obvious thing but make sure you change your display settings to 144hz in Windows once everything is setup, some people might think this is out of the box but its a manual change. Pros: - Cheap and gets the job done - 144hz monitors are great for gaming. Cons - Lots of setting up to do compared to other products but at least theres fixes for them. - Had to use my own displayport cables to get this puppy to turn on. Overall Im happy with the product, I got what I paid for. I really hope this helps someone in the future.

So crisp! make sure you go into the Nvidia Control panel and set it to 144hz. I did have to set up the display settings, this is what looks good to me. Picture mode to "Standard" and tweaked the rest like brightness to 75, Contrast: 55, Low Blue Light: 6, Color Temp: Normal, Hue: 50, Color Vibrance: 10, AMA: High, Instant Mode: On, Sharpness: 7, Gamma: 5

I picked this monitor out because Id heard of the brand through watching eSports and I wanted to support a company that supported one of my interests. I expected to get a "normal monitor" experience and pay a slightly higher price for quality build. I was very wrong, the difference between gaming on this monitor and a regular one is night and day. Games feel entirely more "tactile" and real time. I am better able to place shots, see whats going on, and I feel like I have better control over my character. It is bright and crisp, colors are vivid, and the action is unlike anything Ive played on before. I dont know enough about monitor stats to tell you what specifically about it is better, but I can tell you I noticed an *immediate* improvement in my in-game performance once I switched. I an doing more damage, landing more shots and better able to perceive whats going on. High definition streaming video appears crisper than it used to. If you are any kind of gamer or power-user on your PC I cannot recommend this monitor enough. I will never again think of displays as just interchangeable peripherals; even with a very high end gaming PC, you are not having the full experience unless you have a monitor that is comparable with this one.

Theres two main reasons Im not giving this five stars. First, and VERY IMPORTANT, you NEED a CD drive for this monitor to work. It is mandatory. If you do not have a CD drive, youll need a flash drive and access to a computer that DOES have a CD drive. The monitor will not work unless you have the drivers, and those only come on the CD. If you have the CD in the drive, or a flash drive plugged in with the files on it, then it will work and driver installation is fairly simple. Its a relatively minor issue, but we live in a time where computers, especially custom-built ones, dont always have a CD drive as the standard, so to me it seems like a pretty silly oversight on the manufacturers part. Second, the default display settings when you first get it running are simply atrocious. I almost puked at how bad it looked on default settings. You can, of course, tweak them to the most minute settings, and once you have them to your liking, the display looks amazing, but be warned that fine tuning is required. Other than those two issues, this monitor is very impressive. The stand it comes with is very, very sturdy and adjustable, the display (once tuned) is gorgeous, and the amount of tweaking you can do to the display is more than Ive ever seen. Ill admit, Im only just now starting to get into the more modern designs with computers, so for people with more experience than I, this review is probably a big "DUH!" Regardless, Im very pleased with this monitor, and if youre after a great display to match a powerhouse computer, then I would highly recommend this monitor right here!

Best OSD for settings Ive ever used. Exceptional colours for a TN panel (actually rivals my IPS panel). Gaming at high refresh rate is amazing and I cant go back now. Has some VERY slight scanline issues on dark greys, but really doesnt bother me that much at all. Has **no flicker**--this makes it better than the $50 cheaper 144Hz panels. Dont skimp out, this is the budget 144Hz monitor to get.

Out of the box the colors were definitely off and it had some pixilation on darker colors but after some minor adjustment of the digital vibrancy everything looked great and it had almost no color banding on black gradients. The Dell S2417DG’s I had had serious color banding issues which I couldn’t ignore once I saw it. I was pleasntly surprised a cheaper monitor didn’t have that issue. The only thing that could’ve made this monitor an epic 11 out of 10 is speakers but I don’t think most gaming monitors have them except the the asus v248ge.

like everyone said default color settings is a mess here is what i think is the best settings for me picture mode: standard brightness: 100 contrast: 40 black equalizer: 5 blur reduction: off color temp: user mode: r 85 g90 b85 hue: 50 color vibrance: 9 AMA: OFF -if you dont like to see that subtle black outlines when you are in motion i advice you to turn this off (it ruins the picture quality for me, feels cheap looking and does not do anything good really, for me atleast). If you have used ASUS monitor this is comparable to TRACE FREE in settings menu Instant Mode: on Sharpness: 6 Gamma: 5 In Nvidia Control panel under display settings (resolution) choose nvidia color settings then choose rgb and full and i think thats it btw, before you do the settings make sure your monitor warmed up for like 30 mins for accurate calibration

I liked this monitor so much I bought a second one for my son who also games. I like the 144 Hz--complete upgrade for my gaming life. Bright colors. No dead pixels. Good packaging for shipping. I dont use the base, because I used a VESA mount to put it on a swing arm so I can game in an easy chair. Good value for the money.

The BenQ ZOWIE XL are exceptional! Packaging was superb and protective. Instructions for setting up and putting into operation was straightforward. My windows 10/GTX 1060 installation struggled initially with having two of the same monitors attached (auto-detect only picked up on one of them). Disconnected both, then connecting one at a time and letting windows complete the hardware detection routine before connected the next solved that issue. Across both units I had zero defective pixels. It would be helpful if BenQ settings could be easily cloned from monitor to monitor, but manually comparing and configuring the same isnt too difficult.

This Monitor is for gaming! The colors are meant to give you an "edge" in competitvie gaming. If you want crazy colors that look super nice this is not the monitor for you. Playing overwatch as a dps on 144hz is LITERALLY LIFE CHANGING. It is so much smoother and worth the money. You have to go to nvidia display settings to switch to 144hz and need to use a DVI. Adjustability is great. 10/10 monitor so far for FPS gaming :)
