I’ve owned a lot of TN paneled monitors for gaming purposes for gaming purposes only. I’ve also owned only 1 VA that was apparently a “gaming monitor.” I’ll be the first to recommend a TN panel any day of the week and here is why. IPA and CA panels have way for quality picture, and playing games like far cry, adventure/RPG, absolutely get those ones. I’ve been playing amateur Super Smash Brothers since melee, and when you need frame perfect reactions, and inputs, the BenQ Zowie stands way ahead. It’s simply the nicesy picture in a TN Panel I’ve ever owned. The input lag, refresh rate is truly as good as they boast. When taking my set up to tournaments, they usually will use my set up in finals because it’s bright, crisp, and people really notice the superior input times and refresh rate on the monitor. Honestly, I feel that all console gamers that play fighting games or FPS, get this monitor. The ONLY downside as that the built in-sound at 100% volume gets drowned out by background noise when at tournaments. I would recommend getting a cheapy sound setup to bring. I will be getting BenQ only for console monitor gaming.

I decided to get this monitor after reading a lot of reviews and because Ive played an enormous amount of Destiny on PlayStation 4 and felt Ive hit my peak in my skill improvement. I had the money to spend and was willing to see if getting a gaming monitor with a 1ms response time would up my PVP game at all. I had been using a 2011 26" Samsung LCD TV for the PS4 so I could game while still watching TV shows, movies, and sports on the big TV in my living room, so I opted for the 27" instead of 24" because I didnt want to go down in size even though some people seem to consider 24" perfect for gaming monitors. I figured that theyre probably sitting at a desk up close to it, while Im in my recliner, so the 27" would probably be a better fit. So, is the monitor noticeably better? Well, its hard for me to say with 100% certainty, but everything does "feel" better. While there are still obvious networking latency issues, since using this monitor I find myself yelling at the B.S. that often happens in PVP substantially less. My movement and aim even feel more precise. The only caveat that I should add is that in addition to getting the monitor, I also grabbed a Scuf gaming controller, so the tests arent 100% scientific as I changed multiple variables at once. Nevertheless, Ive come away feeling that getting the monitor and the controller have both helped improve my game and were worthwhile purchases for someone who invests as much time as I do to gaming (its also my career). While Ill never be "elite" tier, as Im 43 years old and have the hand-eye coordination of someone 20+ years older, but I definitely feel like these two instruments have helped me play better. While I still have plenty of games where I get wrecked, Im having substantially more games where my K/D ratio is in the 1.5 to 5.0 range, which wasnt common before. My lifetime K/D in the games is 0.97. Though, I should add that I personally credit the controller with 80% of my improvement and the monitor for about 20%. My only gripe with the monitor is that I cant find any settings that Im happy with for how everything looks. The FPS setting is too bright for my tastes and makes the game look like crap. Its probably beneficial for PVP to play like this, but I personally dont like the game looking super bright and washed out. I find that the Movie setting actually makes the game look the best, but the blacks are too dark and blend together, which can be a hindrance on certain maps. I wont deduct a point off of this review for this, however, as Im sure there are settings that can work. Ive just always been really bad at doing this kind of stuff. For instance, I have a dual monitor setup at work and, for the life of me, I cant get the two to look the same. So, I surely cant knock the monitor for my shortcomings as the end user. In the end, I figure if you play a lot of games then you should definitely consider picking up one of these.

I moved up to the best size 1920x1080 60hz desktop monitor, and I love it! I have used BenQ 1ms 24" monitors for years. I believe Benq aka Zowie gaming monitors to be the best quality over all other brands. I have a dual monitor setup for gaming and work. The 24" monitors are excellent but my eyes need a bigger font without scaling, the 27" screen is just right at 100%. I can easily scale it to 125% when I need to read the fine print on documents, then right click the screen/display and choose 100% when I am gaming. I also like the telescoping stand. I often adjust my gaming chair a little up/down and find the (mechanism to raise or lower the monitor to be incredibly, in not magically easy!). It also tilts foward, back and right/left. I love this monitor and all its built-in settings. Though it has a decent set of built-in speakers, I still like desktop speakers better.

I tried a couple monitors including the 4K Benq and a1440p 1ms one and read tons of reviews and this by far is the best one out there. 4K is not ready yet in spite of all the monitors out there now and all of the 1440p monitors either dont work on consoles or they have a terrible lag or picture. I came from a Benq RL2455 so Im spoiled with the 1ms response. The picture quality is not the best out there but perfect for competitive games. You need to make sacrifices in the picture quality for now to get that great response.

The BenQ 27 inch RL was the best option for my gaming setup. Ive been using a 22 inch view sonic monitor for years and was skeptical at first for upgrading to 27 inches. After reading reviews about the BenQ I was sold. The 1080p resolution was noticeable and it looks amazing. The 1ms response time is definitely worth mentioning since I play FPS all the time. The menu screen is easy to browse through and offers the option to save your settings. It also gives you several saved slots to save your customized settings. Finally, the setup took 5 minutes once I removed it from the box.

Excellent tv, big difference from my old regular tv to this gaming tv. Sound of the tv is ehhh not so great. Doesn’t come with a controller. But I use my gaming headsets all the time so there was no problem for me.

This monitor is pretty good, you can switch between two different HDMI inputs which is what I use it for. However, the biggest drawback is how annoying it is to just change the volume or mute the monitor. You have to click menu, scroll through a few items, etc. etc. all by using the buttons on the right side. These are no "volume" buttons physically on the monitor.

Personally, The best gaming monitor for console gamers. After playing competitively on a television for 9 years, I was convinced to switch over to playing on monitor mainly because of the Low-input-lag (1ms Response time). The appearance and features of this monitor is highly in my favor. The sleek and simple look just makes you feels like a professional gamer and it is not too “showy”. The back arm of the monitor is a great addition to prevent your headphones from being lost and from being fallen. Overall the picture quality and motion blur is top-notch!

This is my first gaming monitor. After a lot of research, I decided to pull the trigger an purchase it. As soon as I set it up and started playing I noticed a significant difference in gameplay. My gaming buddies think I purchased an aimbot with the increase in my KDR. Highly recommend getting this.

Okay, where do I start? This is the best looking monitor I think is out on the market, love the detail they put into it and the build quality is amazing. The picture looks incredible with a lot of customizable options and setting. I’ve been playing on it for a month or so and I can tell I’ve gotten slightly better with FPS games. If you pair this Monitor with a good headset you’ll be unstoppable!
