Its a great monitor that came almost entirely accurately calibrated out of the box according to my Spyder5. I was between this and the Asus 32" equivalent which is $100+ more and I dont regret the purchase at all. Its beautiful and crisp with deep blacks. The build quality is on par with the Dell monitors with a similar stand attachment mechanism. Between the quality, the apparently very attentive BenQ customer support (Taiwanese are the nicest people!) and 3 year warranty, you cant go wrong with this monitor. EDIT: After a few months with this unit it is exhibiting the flicker-to-black issue that many are writing about in the critical reviews. I had the monitor replaced by BenQ but the issue is still there! Ive tried on two different computers and the issue is consistent. I will be speaking with BenQ support for another RMA replacement, but this is getting ridiculous. 2nd Update: Unbelievable. The flicker problem is endemic across all units relating to faulty design of the panel. BenQ is knowingly selling faulty units and replacing them with equally faulty ones. Absolutely ridiculous. I will be returning this monitor and buying a different brand.

DONT BUY- These monitors have a **firmware issue** that causes random flickering, making the unit unusable. For those like me who researched tons of options for a good 4k monitor, and chose the PD3200U in spite of the widely documented flickering issue, dont make the same mistake I did. After experiencing the problem with one unit, Amazon sent me a replacement that was far worse. (Im watching the screen flicker- like a frequent spasm- as I type this very review on the replacement unit.) On July 2, 2018 I spoke with a support rep at BenQ who informed me that there is a firmware issue with this model that *CAN ONLY* be fixed by a BenQ technician via an update issued in late June, and thus requires mailing the unit to them, waiting the fix, then having it mailed back, which is far too much of annoyance for me at this point. If the firmware update could be applied by the end-user, I would at least give it a try, but Ive opted to drop this model altogether and get a different model by a different manufacturer. I would add that the rep was not at all accommodating, and didnt seem to express any concern about what is clearly a **major defect** in a nearly $1,000 monitor, which makes me think I will likely never buy anything from BenQ ever again. Its too bad, as the monitor itself is beautiful, and Id love to have a functioning version, but BenQ is not making it easy, to say the least. Thus, in close, for anyone still contemplating this monitor, just know that youre taking a gamble, and that youll likely need to mail the unit to BenQ to have it serviced by their technicians- pretty crappy deal if you ask me.

UPDATE: After using for several weeks, Im seeing flickering/blacking out happening several times an hour. Suspected video card, but issue is not happening with an older 27 inch Dell. Tried different connections and different DisplayPort cables. Definitely a monitor issue. Happens in all types of software. Searching the Web, I found this is a known issue which apparently needs an RMA to BenQ. I cant recommend this monitor until the issue is resolved! Furthermore, Im still having USB issues only with this monitor. BenQ suggested Im having problems with my motherboard or power supply, but, once again, the BenQ is the only problem. BenQ did not reply when I asked if the USB 3.0 hub within the monitor is powered. If it is not, that is a problem! *************************************************** Original review: Fantastic for photo editing. I was hesitant to go with such a large screen and such high resolution, but the combination is great. I had been using a Dell U2713HM as my primary monitor for several years, but with a recent system build using an Asus GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, I wanted something better that didnt break the bank. I did not go with a much more expensive wide-gamut model because 100% sRGB is sufficient for my inkjet printer, and, of course, is all that any website can currently display. My concerns about the 4k resolution had to do with reading text and working with programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom, plus a bunch of plug-ins. I also use Word and Excel. They all scale fine for me in Windows 10. For Lightroom, I do all the work on the BenQ, but for Photoshop, I put only the image window on it, keeping the tools and various boxes and tabs on the older Dell 27". For accuracy, I do bring the color swatch over to the BenQ when I need to paint. As for the image quality of the BenQ, all the positive adjectives have been used in many other reviews! Stunning, jaw-dropping, amazing, gorgeous... The stand is solid, and overall build quality seems excellent. The placement of the connection ports on the side works well for my set up. The one problem Ive had is with the onboard USB 3.0 hub. It has conflicts with my Asus Z370 motherboard, actually disabling one of the desktops front ports and even causing sporadic problems with my mouse and keyboard connected to the back of the desktop. For now Ive disconnected the monitors USB cable. Even before ordering the monitor I had planned to install a PCI-e to USB 3.0 expansion card because my Asus motherboard doesnt provide enough USB connections anyway. Once that is squared away Ill update this review. Note that I havent yet contacted BenQ, which I should! (Im not dinging a star for this now because, honestly, with a new desktop build, I cant yet say whether this problem is on Asus or BenQ.) To sum up, this is an outstanding monitor, absolutely up to professional photography standards. Im very glad I purchased it and would highly recommend it to friends.

I went through three of these trying to find a good one. First one flickered. Second one also flickered. Third one had a dead pixel. Enough is enough. If you buy this, the question is: do you feel lucky? Its really a shame, because this would be a great monitor if not for the quality control issues.

I was thrilled to make the jump beyond HD. I started with the PD3200Q, the 2K variant of this screen. Out of the box, it had a stuck pixel. I traded up, sending it back in favor of the PD3200U figuring why not just go whole-hog 4K? The screen arrived, I swapped it out, and before the day was over, the screen developed a flicker at random. It would blink off for a split second. Naturally unhappy, I traded it in for a replacement of the same model. Which suffered from the same problem, and also left ghost impressions of light media when the screen was switched to darker media. Part of why I bought these was for photo retouching, and both of those problems are deal-breakers. How can I edit photos if I cant trust Im seeing them correctly? How can I focus on my work if Im worrying the screen is going to blink off? Why should I have to deal with any kind of defect on a monitor that costs four times what my last one did (and never had an issue like this in years of use)? BenQ tech support still hasnt responded to my email for help, so Im forced to use Amazons return policy to get my money back and put it into an Acer monitor with the same specs. After all that, why havent I given it the bare-minimum one-star review? This screen is genuinely gorgeous. The blacks are deep and inky, images are crisp and rich without being over-saturated. It looks amazing. I wish I was exaggerating when I said it was the most beautiful screen Ive ever had. It kills me to have all these problems with something so close to perfection. Additionally the hockey-puck controller sits handily on my desk so I can adjust settings without fumbling with buttons on the side or back of the screen, and USB ports on the monitor allow me to cable-manage better by plugging my keyboard and mouse into the monitor instead of threading it back down to my tower. It came heart-breakingly close to true love, but failed the only test that really mattered: Reliability. Its an unforgiveable flaw considering how wallet-crunchingly expensive this is. If you buy this monitor, you have a chance of getting one of the best-looking and designed monitors youll ever own or you might get a lemon. Spending this much money on anything should be an investment, not a gamble. Do you really want to roll the dice?

After reading months worth of reviews reporting a flickering problem with the BenQ PD3200U 32" 4K Designer Monitor I thought that surely the problem was resolved by now and I could safely order one. The last review listing the problem had been over a month ago and indicated that it was quickly resolved with a replacement unit - and Amazon now had the monitor listed as Amazons Choice... Yet, here I am! I received the monitor with one day shipping from Amazon on 8/12/2018, connected two recent model laptops to it with the included cables, and the screen flickers to black multiple times per hour regardless of which laptop is in use. Really!!!! Its flickered five times since I started writing this review. This is incredibly frustrating. The monitor has everything I was looking for, so when Amazon put it on sale and made it Amazons Choice it didnt take long to talk myself into buying it. Now, Im trying to figure out where to go from here... I called BenQs Support Team phone number on the card included with the monitor. After waiting longer than Id like to admit, it rolled to voicemail! Fantastic. Its awesome between the flickers, but the fact that it keeps cutting out is a total deal breaker. Ill plan to update this review with the outcome, whether returned to Amazon for a refund or replaced.

I am getting the random flicker/glitch issue as reported on amazon and other reviews. It is very quick - a fraction of a second. Either screen goes black or some glitch/artifacts flash on the screen. Happens several times per day. Tried many options, including connecting to completely different PC with different cables, etc. Definitely a monitor issue. Wondering how many others are having this issue? This particular monitor has very little bleed and no dead pixels, so if it is a common issue, I may just live with it. If not, Ill return it and hope for a better one. Apart from this problem, it is a great monitor. 3 stars for now. If it had no glitch, 5 stars.

Within hours of arriving and connecting to my PC, this monitor began showing signs of blinking and black rectangles appearing for a fraction of a second. Based upon other reviews, it appeared that this monitor suffered from the same engineering flaw that was causing so many of these monitors to be returned to the manufacturer. Fortunately I was within the 30 day return period that Amazon allows, therefore I sent it back and replaced it with a Viewsonic VP3268-4K.

WOW! This monitor lives up to the hype and great reviews (be sure to check out the in depth Toms Hardware review - this review truly helped make my decision to purchase). I upgraded from a Dell 27" QHD screen and I cant believe how much larger the 32" is in comparison, it has so much screen real estate and enables multitasking in a way you just cant with smaller screens. Ive only had it a couple days but I can say, out of the box, it looks wonderful using the sRGB mode with the brightness set at 50%. There is indeed a factory calibration report in the box. The Display Pilot software is a nice bonus (it has tons of options and is convenient to change settings). IPS glow is present, but minimal, its most evident in the lower left corner on my unit on a completely black screen. The matte finish on the screen isnt distracting and I have no issues working with photos, digital drawings and blueprints/building renderings. Screen uniformity is very good (especially considering this model doesnt have a setting to manage screen uniformity) - it may be slightly brighter in the middle of the unit I received, but again, it isnt distracting. One of the must have features for me was the built in KVM as I use it with a desktop computer (with an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB RAM connected via HDMI 2.0) and my Surface Pro (2017) (with Iris Plus 640 graphics connected via mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort). I can concur with other reviewers that the KVM functionality of switching between computers isnt "elegant" as you do have to power on your computer manually (no USB power is supplied to the keyboard and mouse when the monitor is in power save mode) and you do have to switch the input and USB Upstream settings separately (Dell has a leg up on their KVM monitors as you can assign a USB Upstream port to a specific input and switching is seamless). HOWEVER, its not awful - I programmed the touch button shortcuts for: Input, USB Upstream1 and USB Upstream2 - its very easy to switch. Also, if I dont have my Surface Pro connected and turn on the desktop computer, no action is required on the monitor (provided you leave the HDMI and DisplayPort auto select options turned on). Bottom line - for the size and excellent overall quality of this monitor, there is not a viable competitor at this price point.

Monitor is fantastic, except for the dreaded flicker. Im surprised this product hasnt been pulled from Amazon and replaced with working units. This comes across as a tactic, sell defective product on unsuspecting people and only replace the ones that someone actually notices, one way to make a profit without having to do a write-off. One star because I have to RMA the display one day after receiving it. ***UPDATE*** BenQ RMA process was quick and simple. Received a new replacement monitor that does not have the flicker. Increasing stars from 2 to 4. Would be 5 stars if the KVM solution wasnt so painfully clunky. Switching between two computers is a process, have to change the USB input first before you change the video input otherwise no go. Also if the machine is asleep, even switching the USB input first doesnt wake the computer so you pretty much forces to press the power button to wake/restart the computer. Dell has the KVM solution down, switch video inputs automatically switches USB inputs. Wish BenQ would do the same, map the USB upstream to a specific video input. Other then clunky KVM, it really is a fantastic monitor.
