Pro: Nice housing. Easy to use OSD. VESA mount compatibility when VESA mount compatibility is steadily disappearing from low and even medium range monitors and being replaced by for cost brand specific "VESA mount adapters." HDMI. Plugs point down for more flexible mounting options. Cons: Terrible absurdly terrible gray screen uniformity. Shockingly terrible. Blotchy terrible. Viewing angle is also pretty bad for an IPS display. Marginally better than VA panel but without the VAs decent blacks when viewing straight. Speakers sound like they are earbuds put inside the monitor. Technically the monitor has speakers. Functionally, it doesnt have speakers.

These monitors are sleek and perfect for office work. The sound leaves much to be desired but this is true of many monitor speakers. The thin bezel looks really nice and the margin is about 1/8" to the actual screen display. I had never considered Benq but after some research found they werent in the same lump category as many of these crappy displays on the market. The matte screen is a good balance for anti-glare but does reduce the sharpness a little. But I didnt buy these for gaming or watching movies, strictly for programming. These are super-light, VESA mountable monitors that, for the money, are a great addition to an office. The light sensors are a big plus and the low blue light does seem to be much more pleasant to look at when night comes. The menu is straight-forward and hopefully, these will last some years to come.

Installed a pair on a dual monitor mount in a church office. Primary use is for spreadsheets, presentations, documents etc. so there are no impressions regarding media production or color accuracy. The primary users said the images are bright, clear and legible. Streaming video looks fine in their opinion. Speakers are junk, but expected on a low cost monitor as this one. With multiple inputs, the monitor supports most common connections (DVI, HDMI and VGA). The menu doesnt seem too hard to navigate, although the buttons can be hard to activate at time because of their placement. Since these were VESA mounted on monitor arms, cannot comment about the stand and functionality. Overall impressions: good monitor for general use.

This review is for the BenQ GW2283 1080P IPS 21.5" monitor. As others have noted, the speakers aren’t anything to write home about, but the monitor is solid, you can configure it to not switch automatically, and it has three programmable buttons to perform common tasks. Also has VESA mounting that isn’t used or blocked by the desk stand so easy to use for a self-contained all-in-one system (what I did with an Intel Nuc). The stand also hides and organizes the cabling. No dead or stuck pixels yet either. Comes with a standard VGA cable. Mine did not come with an HDMI cable but I had spares.

Alright let me start off by saying that I thought I need a $169 BenQ 1ms monitor but nope this monitor right here is perfect! The GW2280 has amazing blacks like to the point where I can’t see the blacks really really cool! The 21.5 inch form factor makes being up close more enjoyable! Although it’s 5ms it feels really smooth on my end! The speakers are good enough for simple tasks but aren’t very loud which I don’t really mind! I love the design and the color accuracy for under $120 it’s amazing I think it was on sale for $99 once get one if you need a new budget monitor that can still do the same job as those $50 more monitors! 10/10 impressed will be buying another one very soon

Not a monitor pro but I like every aspect of it. Size, color, brightness. No dead pixels. response time is good. viewing from sides or top/bottom still visible. You can tilt but theres no height adjustments. Havent tested the speakers but monitor speakers, I mean, what can you really expect..... DVI, HDMI, VGA connections so it will work on any computer system. Just note that this comes only with one VGA cable. so if you need DVI or HDMI you need to purchase a cable for it.

I waited some time before writing this review as I wanted to put this monitor through its paces and get some use time out of it first. For the price, its an excellent monitor. I use it as a second monitor for my MacBook Pro. The color temperature of the monitor out of the box was a bit different from my MacBook Pros screen but fortunately, there are manual adjustments to dial in the color temperature to match. The contrast is excellent, brightness quite good, the colors vibrant, resolution excellent, and on-screen characters crisp, clean, and easy to read (Im using the HDMI interface). Now, Im kind of wishing my MacBook Pro supported more than two monitors. If it did I would purchase another BenQ GW Series GW2265HM 21.5" monitor as I truly like this monitor.

Worked great with my Raspberry Pi 3 Bs HDMI output with no adjustments, except telling it to use HDMI input. After that it automatically uses HDMI. It was the smallest 1080p monitor possible to buy at less than $100 price, and with 3 years warranty; except an $80 ViewSonic, which was the only other choice, but it had worse reviews, and no warranty, so I got the BenQ. Subsequently I discovered my friend had that very ViewSonic by mere chance, and it works great with his Pi also. So, I can report that both monitors are worth owning if you have a Pi. This monitor has built-in speakers and puts out reasonable sound. However, it has no headphones audio jack that I can find to divert sound to external speakers. Perhaps plugging external speakers into Pis audio jack will work, while simultaneously using its HDMI output. I have not bothered to test that possibility as yet, as I am perfectly comfortable with its built-in speakers. Very light. Comes with nice slip cover than is intended as packaging material, but I use as a slip cover, when not using monitor or moving it. Monitor can be made portable by using any kind of simple carrying case; and removing its base foot, which comes off fairly easily by unscrewing a thumb screw, although not its stem, but nonetheless still makes portability possible. NOTE1: Removing the stem instead of the base foot would be better for portability. However, I found the stem does not come off easily by pressing its inset release button with a small tool, because it is VERY resistant to sliding out of its slot. I dont try that any more out of fear of damaging the stem. Perhaps some lubricant would help. Have not tried that. NOTE2: The Pi 3 B natively puts out a perfect 1080p (Full HD) signal via its HDMI output socket. On my giant TV monitor the Pis output looks amazing, but on my 22" BenQ it looks very good also. I have seen the Pis output on lower resolution monitors (like 720p), which can of course be obtained for less money. Dont bother, and dont be tricked. Many cheap lower resolution monitors are available on Amazon, but they can be vague about their resolutions. So, study the monitors specs carefully. It took me weeks of careful study of over 100 monitors to settle on the BenQ. The Pis output looks poor by comparison at lower resolutions. I recommend using the Pis native full HD 1080p resolution. You will be glad you spent the extra money on a supporting monitor.

This is the second one of this model that I have purchased. I bought it for a dual monitor setup. I like the BenQ monitors because I can easily adjust the blue light settings to be easy on my eyes depending on the type of work I am doing. BenQ has great technology for easing eye strain. I highly recommend.

This monitor was recommended as a cheap monitor for photographers. Comparing it to my iPad pro 10.5, its garbage... Maybe Im screwing the settings up. If somebody could respond and help me that would be great, but Im about to return it. My settings are picture is SRGB, Contrast is 68, brightness is 100, sharpness is 6/10. But the picture just looks soooo hazey! I have a $120 Lenovo thats not even rated for photographers thats 100x better. Somebody help me out please. Thank you!
