I use this monitor as my main display every day, for many hours at a time. I use it for web-browsing and can always read everything clearly, video/series/movie watching and can see everything (including film grain and subtle digital noise) clearly, editing video and can see every detail I need to (including accurate colors) and gaming and can spot everything important as soon as its visible. Nothing about the visual quality and accuracy of this monitor is sub-par is any way. The only thing thats wrong with this device as a whole is every audio feature. The speakers are worthless and the audio that comes through the 3.5mm jack on the back sounds awful (no bass, distant). Sure, its bearable if you need speakers in a pinch, but if youre considering it for any use besides that of a visual nature, skip it. Im not subtracting any stars because its nearly perfect in every other way.

I have a Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming Waterforce GTX 1080 - 8GB card and I have tried many monitors, a 1080p projector, and even a 4k TV. None of these match up to the speed of this monitor. I cant stand the screen tearing or motion blurring on slower monitors/TVs. I couldnt afford a 4k monitor of this spec so I went with this after doing some research an I am glad I did. An amazing monitor. The best response time of any monitor Ive gamed with in 15 years. If youre looking for a great budget 1920x1080 monitor that can keep up with good gaming hardware look no further.

I am not an ultra-technical person, by any stretch-of--the-imagination. I just like a nice big monitor, that is fast, looks nice, has great color, and is durable. So far, this monitor delivers on all of those. I have had this monitor for a little over 6 months now, and I am very happy with the quality. I have always been a big fan of Asus products, because I have always found them to be of superior quality and durability. My first entry into the 27" monitor market was a couple of years ago when I purchased my 27" Samsung monitor. That one has also served me extremely well, but the color and the speed of this Asus is definitely an improvement over my other model. My setup: I currently have my old monitor and this monitor hooked-up to my desktop (dual monitor). Yes, I am a little bit OCD and it drives me nuts that my two monitors are not the same; but I begrudgingly make-due. Side-by-side, this monitor is definitely superior. Mind you, my Samsung is a couple of years older, so this is not an indictment of Samsung, as much as it is interesting to see how far technology has come in just a couple years, in the same price point. I have seen some review complain about the base; but I think it is plenty sturdy if you put it together properly. I have had no problem with any pixelization, or other technical issues, and I have been entirely pleased with this purchase and highly recommend. I work from home as a Technical Writer, so I use my monitors a lot during the day. At night, I play a lot of PC games with friends and family. So my monitor is on nearly all day, and only off when I sleep. I have experienced no issues or degradation in the hundreds of hours that this monitor has been used thus far. Lastly, I am thoroughly impressed with the viewing angle, and the way that it works in the daylight hours. Other monitors I have used have a terrible glare which forces you to turn the monitor to avoid any sunlight, at all costs! I dont have the same issue with this monitor.

I upgraded from a 21.5 monitor, which, coincidentally is on the same item page as the 27 inch monitor i got a couple years ago on best buy. The 21.5 inch had 1 dead pixel stuck green colored, however, the 27 inch monitor arrived with no imperfections. The box was slightly damaged, but not enough to harm the item inside. Im mainly using this for movies, but i do occasionally game. I played Elite Dangerous on this screen and it was absolutely beautiful. If they ever make a 4k version of this exact monitor, i will definitely upgrade.

Im not a gamer, so cant speak to that, bit I work in IT/Software support and bought these to setup my home office. My home office is now more functional than my space at work. I bought three of these. I love all the available input options. Vga, 2 hdmi, and a display port. I have two laptop docking stations and use two computers (personal and work) sharing the three screens. I have them mounted on an arm. Side by side and it takes up six feet in length to support the screen real estate

Ive read a number of reviews which complained of this units instability on its stand and I have to wonder what those folks were doing to the poor thing, because its quite stable for me and I have no problems with it at all. (What *DO* you folks do to your poor monitors?) Im quite content with the actual performance of the monitor as well, and even people with older PCs can use a monitor like this, as the unit has HDMI, DP, and VGA inputs available, as well as inputs for external audio devices like an MP3 player. Its got two 2-watt speakers which are serviceable, but you can also use headphones (3.5mm jack) with it, too. Whether youre gaming (its quite good for that), watching a DVD / movie file, or even just reading e-books, youll find this monitor to be more than adequate to the purpose and priced very amicably when one considers all the features and controls it has, which are numerous indeed, yet easily accessible and easy to use. I do quite a bit of video editing as well as professional audio editing in my studio, and this unit is just perfect for what I do; I use professional audio monitors for mixing sound, and this unit is thin enough and just the right size to let me push it back far enough that I do not have audio reflection problems from the monitor sides (Google listening triangle for more info on how that works). For video editing, the resolution is ideal and makes for crisp, clean results. Of course, your mileage will vary, depending on your video processor (hopefully you dont have crappy onboard graphics). Packaging includes a 3.5mm stereo male - to - male cable, a DVI - HDMI cable, and a standard VGA cable, as well as the typical IEC power cord. Manuals and a setup guide are also included.
